I was completely ripped off by their referral program because the person I referred was on my emergency contact list, and they are spending over $600 per month on a storage unit LONG TERM. Also, I was called by the district manager, and this sums up the phone conversation. *Ring Ring* Hello? -Yes, this is the manager for sentinel storage. Why you so unhappy? Why the google review? *Your employees didn't reveal to me that my storage rate would go up every 6 months, I'm not happy considering I plan on being there long term. Also, you ripped me off with the referral program. -Oh your not happy? How about we hold your rate until January of 2026. After that though, your rate goes up every 6 months. *Oh okay, well I'll take the lock in rate, thanks, but there's no guarantee I will stay after that* -Okay great, can you please update your google review? *Sure, but keep in mind that it's against google's TOS to ask your customers to change their review.* Company doesn't disclose the fact that they will increase your rent only 6 months after you've been there by almost 20%. This information was not portrayed to me at all upon signing my rental agreement. Sneaky business practices. Just make sure you understand that you rent WILL go up by a lot after 6-9 months. My partner and I have had nothing but troubles with this company upon joining. It took them 6 weeks to fix a lightbulb in my partners storage unit. They kept making excuses. Now the company is trying to enter my partner's unit without permission to 'fix' something and demanding he give them a key. I'm sorry, but what? Something just aint right. The highlights: Brent was organized and extremely helpful when I called to book; rates and expectations were clearly set out; the move confirmation email arrived quickly; for both moves I got an ETA call from the movers when they were on their way; the movers (Cody both times, and a different crew with him each time but to a man personable, respectful, well-prepared, and professional) were careful and efficient moving our belongings; the bill was exactly as expected; during our first move with Papa's we got both a friendly guide to our new neighbourhood and help re-assembling a lot of finicky furniture (that was a great introduction to Vancouver!). I highly recommend Papa's Moving. The rates are very reasonable and the service is excellent. It also feels good to support a family company of nice, helpful people that seem to genuinely care about making your move as quick and easy as possible. Then they all of a sudden added all these rules into our agreement that they didnt give me a copy of. Its always oh surprise you cant do this because it says this in the fine print all of a sudden etc basically. They tricked me into paying for a locker I am no longer using & moving out of, saying the system wont let you transfer to a smaller cheaper one until you pay for the one your 2 days overdue for paying for & you have to pay for the bigger one you wont be using, first, in order to transfer to the smaller one. Then you get credited back the remaining amount you overpaid. When I asked them over and over snd over and so many times and ways, they only answered some questions and ignored the important ones. They said the credit will go into your acount and be taken into your next storage locker. That doesnt explain anything & it probably wont be taking money off my next bill either. They told me this AFTER it was already done. Not before when I asked over and over many times and ways. There not even showing me where I signed and agreed to this. I tried to not pay and just leave to another storage locker but they said I couldnt because I didnt give 7 days notice. I asked where it said that on my copy or theres etc and they just ignored me again. Not to mention how I tried to call another company and I got them somehow originally, but that couldve easily been google or gpt char making yet another mistake but idk with how there acting dodgy with all there catches to everything lately. I'm in the process of moving. As much as I tried to take boxes from work, we just don't receive…read moreshipments in boxes big enough for my needs. So I had to break down and buy boxes along with other packing supplies. I found Allworld through their great Google reviews. They sell commercial packaging supplies but they're open to the public. I was greeted immediately when I walked into the small "store" area. I explained what I needed, and it turns out they have moving packages based on the number of rooms you have. The one bedroom package has 10 small boxes, 16 medium ones, 6 large ones, a wardrobe box, 2 rolls of packing tape, packing paper and a marker. I was driving a Zipcar Prius so one of the staff checked to make sure everything would fit before they made the sale. Both guys were friendly and super helpful. Hopefully I won't have to do another move for a long time, but I will definitely return if I ever need any packaging supplies. Go check them out!
