I had my first hydrotherapy appointment over the weekend. A great experience. This was my first time at this location. The owners Chuck and Tiffany are extremely on top of things. They have text messages that include intake paperwork, they are pretty clear with their process expectations and guidelines. They are serious about COVID precautions and I appreciate everything they have implemented. Sanitizing is a big thing for them and again I appreciate it. I received an text for a special for return client's for $80 and two $50 payments. And it stated that ((new client's)) could also take advantage of this offer as well! I booked my appointment and I received a text asking me if I was a return/new client going by another nam I said...No, I'm new but, it stated New Client's could also take advantage of the offer as well after the first visit # 4 of the text offer i received. Tiffany sent me a text stating four different fees for what wasn't the special that was being offered. The first was $100, $80 and two $50 payments. Which, wasn't the deal that was for $180 for three colonic treatments. And the offer she send back to me was for four colonic treatments for $280 which wasn't in the text message deal I originally received. If ((New Client's)) could take advantage of the $180 deal why was I being told about which appeared to be an entirely different amount and totally different deal. And Tiffany wasn't very helpful nor pleasant at all! I canceled my appointment and I'll go elsewhere! Customer service is very important. The colon hydrotherapy was amazing and I will definitely return. I'm glad to support a black owned business that centers health and wellness. Everything was professional and my experience was pleasant. Parking was easy and I was greeted promptly by Tiffany after knocking on the door. I was given a short form to complete and waited in a comfortable room with soy candles and nature sounds. After a short while, Chuck greeted me and took me to another room. He briefly and concisely explained how to get on the table and what to do. He left while I undressed and came in when I rang the bell to begin. He turned the water on and the procedure lasted a little over 35mins. He came in a couple of times to check on me. I was shocked by my results and felt lighter in body and mind immediately after. I have been at this establishment before. I purchased 2 Memorial Day specials that included 2 colonics per person. Immediately after I purchased, I received a text from Tiffani who is one of the owners. I booked my brother and I's colonic later on, and she texted us to be sure I didn't suffer from any type of health problems. The first colonic, I was greeted by Tiffani and her husband. SEEMED like a very nice couple. I scheduled me and my brother's colonic for August 22nd at 5pm before we left. I then rescheduled to Monday, August 20th since I was on vacation. I rescheduled via text message, stating that "Jovone and I" would like to change the date. Apparently, this woman cannot read! Now this is a text thread that goes back to June. You know whose number you're texting. Any whom, we showed up yesterday a little before 5 and immediately Tiffani and her husband had an attitude when they saw both of us. She said, Jovone only confirmed for today, you're still booked for Wednesday. I said he didn't confirm anything, I'm the one who sent the text. So I read the text to Tiffani, and she sat there rolling her eyes and shaking her head saying, "well, well I don't know what to tell you." Like wtf, if you made the mistake as a business owner, shouldn't you be apologetic and attempt to accommodate me. She was content on saying that one of us could go today, and the other on Wednesday. No, it would be an inconvenience for me because of her mistake. She went on to ask if both of us could come on Wednesday, and I asked if it was possible to accommodate us so I wouldn't have to leave work early, and stay open an extra 30 minutes because I would get there at 5:30. "OH NO, the last appointment we take is at 5. We close at 6. We have other obligations after we leave here." Steady giving me attitude and rolling her eyes because her dumbass can't read a single letter. So I was like let me leave before I cuss this lady out. I would hate to be disrespectful, but I know how powerful the internet is. I will be disputing this on Paypal because I lost money for my second set of colonics. I just walked out of Sensational Touch massage for my first colon hydrotherapy experience. I was excited to support this husband and wife business as I've spent 25+ years as a small business advocate in Federal contracting. I'm intentional about spending my money with small businesses - especially in PG County. Yvette (I think that's her name) greeted me and is very warm and friendly. As soon as I started my first time client paperwork, I had a coughing spasm due to the incense being used. Yvette quickly offered to open the windows and got rid of the incense. I was very grateful! Now Chuck, the colon hydroptherapist, is a different story. I immediately noticed that he's not a "warm and fuzzy" personality and I was okay with that. But when we went into the procedure room, I had another cough. Not a spasm, just a quick residual cough from the earlier spasm. Chuck began to tell me if I coughed again to make sure I covered my mouth. Because he didn't want to get sick and germs spread all over the environment. Then he pointed me to the hand sanitizer to cleanse my hands. Really dude? I know that germs spread and when I had my coughing spasm I covered my mouth. I'm not a child and there's a way to communicate to adults. Even though I was pissed, I started the colonics process. About 15 minutes into the process, which I really found to be an awkward (not painful) feeling I told Chuck to stop the machine because I was leaving. I thought about staying but the more I thought about Chuck's comment, I decided to end the session. As far as the actual procedure goes, it works. Quickly. I will probably try it again because I believe in the benefits of detoxing, especially the colon. So my advice? If you don't care about how you're spoken to when getting a service, you'll love Chuck and this business. If you're like me, how people treat me is important. OMG!!!! This place is simply amazing! Where have these services been all my life?!?! I had colon hydrotherapy for the first time today, and I feel like another human being! I gotta admit that I was scared going in. I'd watched a million uTube videos on this procedure and I wanted to do it, but having somebody insert the tube and stay in the room to watch, really kinda freaked me out. But my experience here was COMPLETELY different than that. They expertly tell you how to insert the tube. It's easy, and best of all it doesn't hurt!!!! Then you cover up, ring a bell, and they come in and start the machine. THEY DON'T STAY IN THERE WITH YOU THE WHOLE TIME. (But they will if you want them to) They check in on you as appropriate and you handle your business in calm, peace, and private. This colonic was worth every penny I spent because right now I feel magnificent!!! I am going to do this twice a month to help my improve my digestion and keep me detoxed. The owners are SO NICE! They are considerate, educational, and accommodating. The gentleman that helped me with my procedure must have sensed my anxiety, because he said "oh you'll be fine!" He has no idea how much those few words calmed my nerves. You gotta do this people!!! It's a great use of your time and money!!! UPDATE! I am compelled to post again about this business. Okay, I was referred by one of my clients who has been to this facility a few times. I usually follow her and then give out a taste to ALL of my clients. I am well aware of small business practices because I own my own small business as well. I was satisfied with my first visit. My second (today) caused me to rethink coming back. I did not have "good success" because of equipment malfunction. I was not until 15 before I was scheduled to come off the table, that the process ran successfully. So, naturally I felt cheated. What I did when I came out was asked if I could BUY 30 more minutes. They both said no. Chuck and Tiffany denied the fact that they BOTH had to come in and make adjustments to the system. The hose was slightly bend which caused the water to drip not stream...stream is what you need for a good release! Okay, this is why I HATE dealing with black people and their businesses!! ( I am black by the way) I didn't ask for anything free! You know I didn't get my monies worth, Tiffany or Chuck should have had a conversation with me when I got to the front desk about another shorter visit or something to that effect. I should have known when both of them started back peddling right into a bad case of amnesia that I was SOL!! They lost at least 5 clients today. I bought some creme while I was there and because of the service I received, the lady that referred me said take it back, she didn't want it if they were going to treat me this way. When I tell you Tiffany had an attitude when I returned the creme, I mean I thought I was in Southeast somewhere! She tossed the bag over to the side first of all then she handed me the cash and didn't even look at me. When I said thank you she never looked up nor bothered to respond! Really? This happened a few months ago and im just getting around to posting the review. Though I like the place and have a service here before and have recommended several people here I will never go again. The male owner is very rude. I accompanied my husband here, the owner looked irritated when I first walked in. I had to go back outside to get something out if our van, when i got back to the door the owner asked me "are you going to stay outside or stay in". As if he was irritated because i had to come back inside. I only accompanied him because we were out, he had a 2:00 appointment and would be late if he had taken me home. His mother was also with us. We were told to sit in the lounge. My mother in law was telling me about her back surgery in the lounge the owner opened the door and told us to "quiet down there are other clients in here" we werent talking loud. I felt like a child and very uncomfortable after that. I was actually going to pay for a special they were running but after being treated that way I refuse to give my money to any business that treats me like that. I told my husband what happened, he told me before he started the colonics he told him next time come alone. So my feelings were right he was irritated because we were there. There are plenty of business that do this service now Ill be going elsewhere. My husband requested the remainder of the money back for the special he had purchased, the male owner told him to pick it up and met him at the door of the business with him, he didn't even allow him to step over the threshold and offered no apologies for his rude behavior. Customer Service is lacking at Sensational Touch! I'm a first time client, I scheduled an appointment and unfortunately due to the bad snow this winter my appointment had to be rescheduled, which was totally understandable. Tiffani (the owner) texts me asking if I could come the same time next week which worked perfect for me. So I responded "Great, See you then". I showed up 15 minutes early and it looked like the place was closed. No one answered the door or the phone. (No one ever answers the phone, by the way. I scheduled everything online). So I decided to text the same number I had rescheduled my appointment through. I asked if I still had an appointment because I was sitting outside. Tiffani responds saying she was sorry, she wasn't infront of her PC when she scheduled my appt, would I like to reschedule (again). At this point I'm a little irritated, she didn't even have the decency to pick up the phone and speak with me, our entire conversation was through text- very unprofessional! I explained to her I would love to reschedule but would also like to be compensated somehow for this inconvenience. She responded, Im sorry, if you called I didn't get a voicemail from you, and this is just a mistake that rarely happens. Would you like to reschedule? I would have appreciated something as small as $10 off or her even having the decency to pick up the phone to speak with me- a potential new customer- to see how we could resolve this. Needless to say I told her I will reschedule only if I am compensated somehow and she never responded. Where is the customer service. I wasn't asking for anything free, just for my time to be considered. This is not a business I want to give my money to, and word of mouth is powerful!
