I told two of the employees at the store that I have previously purchased and installed…read moreinappropriate lighting for a room, and that I REALLY REALLY needed some advice for replacement kitchen lighting at our cottage. I even showed them photos of the high/cathedral ceiling, and mentioned "general lighting": I had done some research on internet and I thought this was what I needed. To their credit, they did suggest a basic circular fixture which was on sale for $22. Not attractive in any way, just bright. I began to look at other options, and found some lights that I thought would work. Staff were too busy to help me. I bought those, as well as a bedroom fixture and a fan. Probably spent close to $2000. The bedroom fixture is beautiful (tricky to install) and we've not yet built the room for the fan, but the kitchen lights are dimmer than the lights we bought for our condo kitchen renovation 15 years ago, and our bad bathroom lights. It's very dark in the kitchen, which had been so silly over these last months (husband spent hours installing them in September as a birthday gift...he shortened the wires and the store would not accept a return). We will gird our loins lol soon and replace the fixtures we bought ($400) with something HOPEFULLY EFFECTIVE. That wiseveral hours more work for my husband to install, and more money spent. The store has so many many different lights for sale, that is for sure, and there were some good discounts when I shopped but I feel I got no advice and would not return there. Will buy cheap unattractive strong ceiling lights at a store in Toronto, when stores open for in-person shopping again and husband feels up to all that overhead work.... Here is my kitchen at night

We were shown the different styles of carpets and explained what we were looking for . Youre allowed to take home the sample swatches so there could be some stock missing if someone's signed out two or three of them. My only complaint here is there is a large sample on the front and tons of small samples on the back... Hard to get a feel of how it'll look with only small samples. I know you can't keep excess stock everywhere but maybe if they kept some scrap from jobs of the most common colors and had larger samples handy it would help. They do have another way to get an in home view. They have an app/website where you sample photograph your home and test the carpet color. I found it was fairly accurate and we chose the carpet color that looked best . You do pay for the carpet 100% in advance. We were a little off put because when do you ever pay in advance . But they do have a 100% guarantee and will even rip out the carpet and replace if with a different color if you decide you don't like it. They have such great reviews, we went ahead and booked. We opted to rip our our own carpet out to save a little money on install. It does take some time as the edges can be a hassle but all in all it wasn't too bad. Install day came and our installers Mark and Luigi were great. They joked around with eachother and were a delight with our doggies. When the carpet was initially brought into the house we had an "Oh NO" moment. We thought we chose too light of a color and they would have to rip it out. But, once they started installing it on the stairs the light hit differently and we both knew it was perfect. The carpet itself is thick and luscious. Feels like you're walking on clouds. You get what you pay for 100% and we are 100% happy with the choice we made to go with carpet one. Thanks to Harrison and the team for the guidance .

The designer, Laura, created a number of kitchen design options for us, which made it much easier to visualize the possibilities and choose what worked best for our lifestyle and budget. Decisions were made and a contract written up that itemized everything. A schedule was provided to us so we knew what to expect each and every week. Updates were provided when necessary. Excellent communication throughout the project. The renovation itself was a major three-month project, and they finished only a couple of days beyond the projected timeline, which was amazing given the scope of the work. They were also very budget conscious and suggested ways to cut costs where appropriate without compromising quality or style. The finished main floor is beautiful, functional, and welcoming. The materials used are high quality, and the colours and styles were chosen with great attention to detail and exactly to my taste. Since the renovation was completed, we have done so much more entertaining and truly enjoy spending time in the space every day. We really appreciate the craftsmanship, professionalism, and creativity that went into this renovation and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to transform their home.
