The citrus was quite evident and refreshing while the nutmeg gave the Jeffersonian a very earthy flavor. The shop is cute, and bigger than expected. It's conveniently located near the restrooms of the outlet mall, and the entrance is advertised visibly from the parking lot. (You know how some shops in outlet malls are impossible to find and you just have to hope you parked at the nearest entrance? No guessing here!) They serve much more than cookies! We only came for sweets, but they serve sandwiches, pastries, and quiche, etc as well. The lady behind the counter was slicing freshly made fudge when we came in. They did not have cupcakes or French macarons if that's what you're looking for. The biscochitos did not disappoint! No worries see they are award winners! They're like a shortbread cookie lightly flavored with anise and sprinkled with cinnamon. Even better, they come packaged in cute little 3-packs for $3.75 that are perfect souvenirs to take home! They come in a bigger box too, but I'm a sucker for cute packaging. Oh- and they have gluten-free biscochitos and other cookies too! Speaking of cute.... The truffles! So many different flavors to choose from. We ended up getting a pre-packaged (again, perfect for gifting!) 4-pack of the favorites: pistachio, traditional Mexican chocolate, espresso, and raspberry. I'm usually not into truffles because all the ones I've had have been solid on the inside, but these were so creamy, smooth, and delicious! Not only am I upset, as I have been going there since early childhood, your store has stale candy and your customer service at this store is terrible. If you want stale candy and absentee service, then go.... But you're better off going to a real Chocolatier--like KaKawa... or heck, Alsups. You've lost loyal customers over time... and will continue to if you treat customers like such.

We told her we would be back in ten minutes. We returned ten minutes later. She had locked the door with a note in the window that said "Return Soon" but she was still in the store. I was able to get her attention because her note was unclear as to whether she was closed for the day. She mouthed a few words which I couldn't hear or understand so I stayed at the door for another five minutes. She finally came to the door and unlocked it to tell me she was closed. When I reminded her of what she said earlier about when she would close, she said "I have been here for several hours" and just decided to close earlier. I am not sure what changed in ten minutes but we were looking forward to acquiring some of her unique ornaments. She didn't apologize or show any sympathy for closing earlier than she stated.
