We visited on a Sunday afternoon approx 5pm, thankfully they were not busy. We were seated in a timely manner, customer service was great! I love how spacious and all the decor amongst the restaurant. Our waiter was very attentative during the evening. Very nice music, the tasty flavorfull food and a great bartender made the evening worth the visit. Our food was plentiful and was seasoned well. My only issue my spouse and I had the same fajitas and he had more protein then me. It was more than enough for me. I normally dont eat refied beans, but I really enjoyed with my chips on this visit. The menu was perfect, not to overwelming to view. Tip for owners: Make sure your cooks are consistant with the food portions. We will be revisiting soon! read more

Decided to try the New Mexican place. The food isn't bad but it's really not what we expected. The menu isn't overly large and you can order everything ala carte or an entree. Chips and salsa were good as were the margaritas. There was a bit of a disconnect about the drinks and sizes so that was a bit disappointing. The chicken chimichanga was very good but it was a bit smaller than expected. The bowls were good and a good portion size. Food did come out quickly and was good. Staff isn't as knowledgeable on food prep and items as we had hoped but it worked out ok. This is a chain and while it was good it wasn't anything special. Can't say we will be back as there are some really good Mexican eateries in the area. We may give them another try in a few months which hopefully gives them time to get staff up to speed on the menu. The place looks the same as when it was FATZ with the exception of the new paint on the walls. It was a bit loud in the building even with it but being full. I consider this a small step above Moes if you are looking for comparison. read more

We've been to Señor Birds now 3 times but I will not go back after tonight. We got there at 6 and didn't leave until 9:30. Food came out almost an hour and a half later. Then half of our food was cold (10 of us). The server took the plates back and reheated in the microwave. Manager didn't come talk to us until we were basically finished (the first time). We were nice though & didn't act rude. Then we asked for the cake so we could sing happy birthday. We didn't have it still by 8:50. Finally the server brings a bus cart to clear off the table. We finally get the cake at 9 PM & the checks finally came at 9:20. The manager came back again and she took off a meal for each ticket... because our cheapest item was $6, that's all she took off ours she said they had two new cooks & that's why they were so behind but to let her know next time we come so we would get free margaritas. Except we don't drink really and we won't be back. Then as we were leaving, we noticed the door had been propped open ... to hide their C rating. First time visiting this New Mexican restaurant. As soon as we pulled in around 530p we knew it was going to be good! The whole parking lot was full and it was a very large lot, people were parking down the road......to me a great sign. Only a 30 minute wait, and inside EVERYONE was moving! Very organized chaos, and the service is impeccable to say the least. From the bartender to our server to wait staff just walking the floor they all were amazing with service. I really wish I would have gotten a pic of the food, but both me and my wife were almost done before we even thought about it! Very flavorful beautiful presentation and we can't wait to go back. This is the first time we have found a Mexican restaurant that we will call our home away from home! read more

I came here with my family on a Sunday evening for dinner. It was pretty busy and the parking lot was packed but we were able to get a table pretty quickly upon arrival. The whole place is decorated nicely in a modern, brightly colored style. It's very pleasing to the eye & brings you in with an eager attitude to see the menu. The menu was filled with many tasty Mexican dishes to choose from, making it somewhat difficult to decide. As we sat there waiting for our server, I'd say we waited about 5-10 minutes. It wasn't super long but it wasn't quick either. Once she came to our table, she asked how long we've been waiting and if we've been helped yet. There was no "hello, sorry for your wait, what can drinks can I get started for you?" She also managed to stop by our table multiple times to apologize for not being able to take our order yet before taking our food order. I would say from the moment we were seated to taking our order, it took around 25-30 minutes. So, there are clearly some service issues that need to be addressed here. Luckily, we were not in a rush or anything like that and since both my husband and I have worked in the service industry before, we proceeded to be as nice and supportive as possible. She was a very sweet and nice server, just very inexperienced. Once more of her tables left, she was able to focus more attention on our table and finish strong. As far as the food goes, the choripollo and the empanadas were absolutely delicious! My seafood enchiladas however were a little disappointing. The cheese inside the enchiladas had hardened as if the enchiladas had sat out for a period of time before being sauced properly. The sauce itself was warm on top of the enchiladas but it had broke, so not only could you see where the oil and the cream separated and congealed but the texture was also gritty and undesirable. The flavor was good, but the texture and the lack of warmth of the enchiladas were disappointing. Overall, it wasn't a bad meal, it just wasn't executed correctly. read more

Four of us visited this brand new restaurant last night and with only one exception, the meal was great.. Service was very prompt and courteous and quality food was served almost immediately. My wife and I did not like the enchilada sauce as it had to much catsup flavor. Other than that we also had to wait over 20 mins for our bill. There were people waiting at the door and this was causing delays all around. Perhaps the restaurant may invest in the technology that would allow diners to cash out themselves tableside, freeing up the staff for more important tasks. We will erturn !! read more

I called in an order to go on a busy holiday weekend. Yisel answered, was super friendly and helpful. My food allergies were accommodated without any hesitation. She even helped me with the menu. Pickup was great. I was greeted by very friendly waitstaff at the pickup depot. The food was amazing- I ordered the avocado salad with extra chicken and there was plenty to eat. It's nice that they give you chips and salsa for to go orders - salsa was fantastic too! The place was vibrant and clean. It looked super friendly and a happy atmosphere to eat with friends and family. I am def going back again. read more

My group went to Senor Bird's and the dood was good, but when we got our bills, I had a dollar amount and change. I gave the waitress a $20 bill, and she brought me my change in bills back, but did not bring my change that she was supposed to do. I have never seen this before. First visit to the new place (3 weeks after opening). Arrived on a Sunday late morning, between church services. Service began well, attentive and personable hostess and waitress. Service slid as the late church crowd overwhelmed the staff (not unique to them in Lexington). Food was good, although everything from the salsa to the lunch meals were lacking seasoning. Table salt only goes so far. It is Mexican food, so expected a little more excitement. Out of fried ice cream (which seems to be a pattern at local Mexican restaurants). JORGE WAS OUR SERVER. Context: we had ordered a round of drinks and were having a good time until I had excused myself to the restroom for a moment. Our server proceeded to approach my girlfriend while she was alone at the table and said "I had thought you said that drink was a great way for you to open your legs". Then, I come back after he left already to hear this from her. We proceeded to see him talk to other staff members and point at our table and laugh with them. The manager was very respectful and rightfully horrified when dealing with the situation; however, I will recommend to my close friends and family not to bring their wives, girlfriends, or daughters to this establishment. First time eating here, and I have to say that they have THE BEST burritos I've ever eaten! The service was very good, the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere was bright and cheerful - a nice change compared to the dark and gloomy interior when this building was a Fatz Cafe. My only complaint is that my soft drink was flat, and when I told this to the waitress she said that all of them were like that because they were having problems with their soda machine. Was hoping this restaurant would be good since Lexington is in need of better places to dine instead of fast food. Tried it twice and both times lacked in taste and authentic Mexican dishes. For instance the burrito fajita was all onions with a small amount of chicken and a few bites of green pepper in a soggy tortilla with not so good tasting red sauce. Food came shortly thereafter but a child's order was missing. Our waitress, Sloan, was delightful and was doing the best she could. My husband and I went to Senor Bird's in Lexington on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, for the first time. It will NOT be our last visit. The food, from chips and bean dip to entrees and dessert, was very good, and our server, Kenlin, was everything a phenomenal server should be. He was gracious, personable, helpful and efficient. Also, while I usually prefer a great scotch to tequila, both my husband and I found the blackberry margaritas to be superb. The ambiance is not fancy, but very pleasant, welcoming and clean. We plan to go back soon, and we encourage everyone to give this restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

San Jose is better, don't bother "trying a new spot". You would think a new restaurant would try to impress and preform its best after they recently opened... but I WAITED 1 HOUR FOR A BEER, and the food was mid at best and the waitress had no idea what was in it either so I ended up with a few ingredients I didn't like in it which just made the whole experience worse.
