She had a UTI and the nurse called her "crazy". How insensitive is that? If they get frustrated with you they will just hang up the phone on you. Very professional right? They give her and other patients benzodiazepines unnecessarily to sedate them when they don't want to deal with them. I have told them I DO NOT want my grandmother sedated and I find out they give her Ativan and Valium anyway. NOT happy! The food is completely unacceptable for $7,000 a month. They give your loved one's clothes to just any resident even if their name is in it. And you can be assured that the staff will bring COVID in with them and spread it to your loved one as I've caught 2 nurses without masks on. Yes nurses. They can never seem to get that under control, yet they will continue to blame the residents for spreading COVID, yet the residents never go out. Hmmm. There have been cases of abuse reported at this facility, yet administration just sweep it under the rug and act as if it nothing ever happened. My father was there for only 2 weeks and fell 3 times, resulting in a fractured rib. His room was not cleaned within those 2 weeks and he was not seen by a physician (as required) until his second hospital visit. A paramedic called me to voice their concern about his level of care, when his sugar levels were 380. I called the complaint number to finally get management to act. Definitely find a better facility- there's a reason why there are empty rooms and no wait list.

This is the first place my father has been to where I have no problem with reimbursement from my long term care insurance provider each month. They take care of it all. The living conditions are comfortable, well maintained, and clean. The personel are helpful, considerate, emphathetic, and caring, many employees having worked there a decade or more. Whenever I visited, I was treated warmly, and my father was always resting comfortably in a clean room and a pristine bed, with carefully laundered, comfortable clothes. He had dementia, so he was unable to tell us how the staff was treating him (and never having been the type of person to complain) we had to take non-verbal cues. All the cues pointed to a staff that was both patient and caring. Trust was essential to us and something we considered heavily before deciding on a place for our beloved father. During his final days, our family experienced feelings that I cannot properly put into words here. Likewise, I am unable to express how sensitive the staff was in their treatment of my father. I imagine that they deal with loss on a regular basis, but never once did they regard our grief casually. My father was a kind, gentle, man and was known for his singing voice, his whistling, his love of jazz and his love of the Word. The staff made sure he was able to enjoy all these things during his final days. They all knew him by name, and said he was easy to care for and easy to care about. This was evident in their heartfelt farewell. You can not pay someone to care, and [care] is what they did here. Perhaps I have not adequately relayed, but in my heart I will absolutely, always appreciate every last member of this staff for giving of themselves so selflessly, when it counted most.
