Very negative experience. I filled out the intake form as requested and didn't hear back for over a week. Called them and was told I was denied services and was told I was notified via a phone call from them. My phone history shows no call from them. Said I was denied services because I was out of the county. The lack of return of my security deposit occurred while living in Modesto, Stanislaus County. I recently moved out to another county due to conditions that had been reported to the City of Modesto as not up to code for the rental. I'm still waiting on part of my security deposit that is due from living in Stanislaus County. Seniors beware, Senior Law Project isn't interested in getting and understanding all the facts. read more

Absolutely professional and easy. I set my trust up with Monica who was supported by Executive Director Joyce and another male attorney. The process was simple, the lawyer was clear and concise and made sure I understood everything. I could not be more pleased. This is a community service. I know there are small businesses that advertise $699.00 for a trust ( on McHenry Ave) and I know that law firms with lawyer I know do trusts starting at approximately $2500 dollars... but I chose the Senior Law Project ( also known as the Senior Advocacy Network) simply because it is a non-profit that works on behalf of older individuals. The Executive Director is an advocate for seniors and I have seen her defend her ideas and stand up for what is right and just. The lawyers that work in this NGO could be working in the private sector making more money, but have chosen a line of work for service. We need more people like my attorney Monica and the others who are devoted to the cause of helping. If you need legal assistance, there are defined payment terms which are fair and reasonable. My mother needed an attorney to sort affairs, assets, investments and so on after my dad passed away. I'm not sure how she stumbled on Joyce and I've only met her once, when I went with my mother to her appointment at Joyce's office. Joyce didn't seem to be... genuine. She kept pushing my mother to sell her home, basically she seemed to advise my mother to surrender to her case, pay off the other party, and not even attempt to show cause for a ruling in her favor. I contradicted Joyce, telling her that my mother shouldn't sell her home that is paid off and stated the supporting evidence that showed why my mother should be favored by a judge's ruling. Joyce got very angry with me and ordered me to leave her office and no return. My mother was shocked by this. As we left without incident she asked Joyce, "why, what did she do?" Then she attempted to scare my mother by threatening that she'd face legal actions if she didn't do as Joyce was advising her to. Which was a bold faced lie, because although I'm ignorant to much of the law; I know that the "consequences" that she was advising my mother to "avoid" is not the way the law works. Joyce is clearly taking advantage of senior citizens. She poses as an advocate for seniors when in reality she herself is the crook that seniors need to be protected from. read more

BEWARE SENIORS! Ms Gandelman Lures Her victims in under the " Senior Advocacy Network Senior Law Project ". Area Agency on Aging and www.agingservices.com" She adverises free legal services for low income Seniors. But she quickly disquaifies You For the FREE services because " Your just over the Limit ". She then painted a dark and overwhelming future now that I became a widow. Said I'd have to give up My home and that the hospital would be putting a lien on My home for My departed's medical bills. Virtually coning Me by fear to retain Her for $2,500.00. Don't fall for that like I did. Once she got her Money,She and Her associate Lynette G. Miller just sat on it and did very little. I scrambled to get documents. They lost phone numbers of the Hiers and failed to inform Me or check for the correct numbers. I would have critical issues due to their failures and they were on vacation not to be disturbed. Or I'd hear from them after 5PM or they'd have Me come in on Sat. so they could charge Me more. I only had progress with My probate after I contacted thier superior with the problems I was having with Ms Gandelman and Ms Miller. I basically gained legal title to My home on My own efforts. I legally filed the proper documents and even got a great mortgage to stay in My home forever,despite the failures of Ms Gandelman and her Partner Ms Miller. They would return My calls and talk to Me like I was a Child. But the last straw was getting a call from them recently, saying" We have not gotten the Heirs releases" . They had NOT done anything for My case and had the gall to call Me up 8 months later to scare Me into paying them even more money. Since they failed to do their jobs initially, they figured I'd be frantic near homeless. Which I would have been had I left it up to them. It was a shake down, they take advantage of every situation thinking You will be ignorant or gulable. I told them that I had perfectly accomplished home ownership and probate with the Hiers. Furthermore, it had been finished for well over a month. " No, I will NOT pay YOU MORE MONEY TO HAVE TO DO YOUR JOB TOO, because You obviously don't have a clue what's even going on with MY NEW HOME and the completed probate." Yes, Ms Gandelman and Ms Miller will swindle you not help You. Really, she needs to be removed from that title Attorney at Law. read more
