    Elder Care Management

I met Felicia of Elder Care Management at a Del Oro affiliated information session for caregivers…read more I have been to many training sessions and events related to the caregiving journey, and I have spoken with many individuals about my loved one's complex care needs. Felicia stood out many months ago as the most expert and empathetic in understanding what to do to provide for the best care for a loved one with cognitive decline or memory issues. I kept the pen she handed out, and when the need arose and we exhausted all free resources, I reached out to her organization for an objective view into how my loved one was doing and what we could do to better provide for her care. She has provided excellent service and I highly recommend her for your Elder Care Management needs. It was worth every penny. I only wish I worked with her sooner. We recently contracted with Felicia to provide an analysis and assessment of my loved one's needs in her current memory care community. The insights and peace of mind she provided us about my loved one's care were invaluable, and she was so thoughtful, professional, efficient, and responsive. My loved one recently moved to a new "board and care" with 5 other ladies just like her. Felicia recommended the care home along with other recommendations such as a geriatrician referral and techniques to simplify and provide better care. I cried with relief when I saw all that the new care home did to provide the highest standard of care. It had become evident my loved one needed a smaller setting and one-to-one care 24/7. Senior communities (even memory cares) cater to people who have a fair amount of independence still and don't have as many needs. When their needs increase, the communities do not keep up nor do they have the empathy, understanding or appropriate staffing to provide a dignified standard of care. The community where my mom lived failed to provide care in such a glaring way that I could not in good conscience let her remain with it falling so short. We started the search on a Monday and got all the paperwork set for move-in over the weekend. Without Felicia, it wouldn't have been possible, and the care home typically had a waitlist but miraculously had an opening. The last six months we have seen a progressive decline, in part due to the environment not providing for our loved one's dignity and in part due to the disease. It will not get any easier, but it will get more dignified and dependable. The journey has been long and difficult, but through Felicia's guidance, I feel more at ease through the turbulence. In many ways, I feel like I can get my life back since caregiver management has taken up such a huge portion of my time due to its complexity. Felicia helped simplify the work and help chart our course in a better direction.

Piper, our case manager, has been there every step of the way, to take them to appointments, following up on prescriptions and providing emotional support to both of them. I truly value the expertise and warmth that Piper brings to my parents, and the clear and consistent communication she brings to us as we navigate this stage of their lives. I don't know what we would do without Eldercare Management.

After three years of living with me, it became clear that Mom needed a higher level of structure, supervision, and social interaction than I could consistently provide at home. I began an extensive search, exploring nearly 40 different care options -- everything from large assisted living and memory care communities to smaller, private board-and-care homes specializing in dementia care. I asked tough questions about caregiver-to-resident ratios, staff turnover, nutrition, movement, music, routines, and social engagement. Jazba quickly rose to the top and became the gold standard by which I compared all other options. Here's why: A Warm, Homelike Environment: Each Jazba residence is a single-family home, full of light, warmth, and thoughtful design. Far from cold or clinical, they're inviting, clean, well-organized, and charming. Visitors and residents alike feel at home the moment they walk through the door. Nutritious, Family-Style Meals: Meals are prepared fresh each day and enjoyed together around the table. The menu follows the MIND diet -- rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and plant-based, high-fiber foods -- supporting both brain and overall health. Meaningful Daily Activities: Every day includes music, art, gentle exercise, fresh air, and light occupational therapy. Holidays, birthdays, and life milestones are celebrated with joy and creativity that rivals any kindergarten class -- in the best way possible. Field trips between homes build a sense of community and connection among residents. Unconditional Acceptance: Residents are met with patience, dignity, and respect -- always. Whether a story is told for the third time or a memory gets fuzzy, staff respond with kindness and compassion. This culture of acceptance extends to everyone in the home. After just a month at Jazba, my mom began speaking to me with more warmth and tenderness than I remember from my youth -- a transformation that still moves me deeply. Compassionate, Competent Care: The staff are not only incredibly kind, they're highly capable and organized. Detailed records are maintained for every resident, which allows them to tailor care and keep families and medical providers well-informed. Whole-Person Support: What sets Jazba apart is their commitment to the whole person -- not just the diagnosis. My mother is a lifelong Seventh-day Adventist, and her faith is central to her identity. I worried about how she'd feel when she couldn't attend church regularly. Jazba didn't miss a beat: the team helped arrange transportation when possible, and on Saturdays when she couldn't go, they streamed the service on the big TV so she and other residents could participate together. When I visited later that day, I found them making crafts and listening to uplifting music. It was beautiful. Connection and Communication: Every week, I receive text messages and photos of Mom -- laughing, doing light housework (which she adores), creating art, or exercising with others. She's been at Jazba for four months now, and I can honestly say: this is the happiest I've seen her in over a decade.

They have been taking care of my dad, who has Parkinson's, and the level of care and compassion they provide is truly exceptional. Every caregiver we've interacted with has been professional, kind, and genuinely caring--not just doing a job, but forming a real connection with my dad. It gives our family such peace of mind knowing he's in such good hands. One of the biggest reliefs for us has been how they handle the billing process with CalPERS Long Term Care Insurance. They direct bill the insurance company, which means we don't have to worry about being the middle person or dealing with the stress of reimbursements. That alone has saved us so much time and energy. They also went out of their way and helped my mom in an emergency situation. They also are very quick and accommodating when last minute care is needed. We're deeply grateful for the support California CareGivers has provided. They've made a difficult journey feel a lot more manageable, and we can't recommend them highly enough.
