The one thing about Yelp is you must give a star. I have exactly where I will dedicate that star,…read moresince my grandmother didn't suffer any abuse at this location. This is a family run operation and the family lives on the premises. If you are looking for a care home which is operated much like a business where staff are on shifts, knowledgeable or trained in specific area or specialty with geriatrics or nursing, this is not the home for you. There are others that will suit your needs. This is a place that is more like a regular home and they happen to get paid, to dress, feed and "maybe" clean the patients with a sponge bath. I was mortified to learn the requirements to open a facility when I called to complain with the state. These people do the bare minimum. They don't give the residents anything to stimulate them whatsoever. They feed them and prop them in chairs and have them watch television. Not even good television, but either religious programming or the news. I've read studies which state the type of activitiy and the benefit to elder patients and am surprised these people don't follow that. There isn't music, cards, walks, outings, nothing. The main provider is often distracted by the comings and goings of her seemingly dozen children, grandchildren and friends. That makes me uncomfortable because you don't know if any of them are trained or specialize in anything to warrant them being of assistance. It's like a typical home dwelling, young kids, phone calls, computer surfing, etc. and they stop to: serve meals, put residents to bed, or help them with toileting. They don't do anything above the minimum to ensure the residents are still alive. Not even changing them into pyjamas to sleep! Of course the residents aren't going to complain, but would you want to sleep in the same clothes you wore all day? What's more, the cleaning is not really bathing, it's sponge bath. My grandmother was once forced to yell and scream to get the attention of the person in charge to help her. Why? Apparently, she was in conversation with her daughter who was having problems finding a job. Odd that the daughter "helps out" when she can even though she has her own child there as well. There is no way I would have someone who worked for me, with their work ethic so I don't like that they treat the residents like they are simply checks. I asked if they ensured my nan got at least 64 oz of water (helps with brain activity since the brain is 70% water) and she said she didn't. Okay...it's not a hospice, so we want the elderly to have a quality of life while they are still here, but this place is really strange. When you ask them to do things any person would do like making sure their teeth, clothes, etc are clean, they act like you are imposing. You can hear them whisper under their breath in their language. Nan says they complain all the time, but she doesn't say anything, because it's a place to stay since she needs the help. At times they give information and updates and it's almost like they aren't happy with the residents, not much good to say, and most times they don't talk to us at all. Don't get me wrong, they aren't bad people, just not a place you would use for residential home care. If you wanted a place to use as respite, perfect, but unless you think sitting and staring or sleeping is the way to spend the rest of your time on earth or at least until something better comes along, bypass this place. They like the money, but the love for caretaking is simply not there. I would never recommend this place as a care home. It's a guest quarter which works around the convenience of whoever is around at the time.

Plus it is family owned (by a very large family with lots of little grandchildren that come and visit often. This is a real joy for the residents). The owner prays every night with my Mom, and calls her Momma. You can feel the love emanating from her and all that help out. They raise chickens, bees, and have pets, and all kinds of fruits trees, and wonderful lovingly cared gardens. It is a great place, and my Mom is very happy there. I highly reccomend it.

They have been taking care of my dad, who has Parkinson's, and the level of care and compassion they provide is truly exceptional. Every caregiver we've interacted with has been professional, kind, and genuinely caring--not just doing a job, but forming a real connection with my dad. It gives our family such peace of mind knowing he's in such good hands. One of the biggest reliefs for us has been how they handle the billing process with CalPERS Long Term Care Insurance. They direct bill the insurance company, which means we don't have to worry about being the middle person or dealing with the stress of reimbursements. That alone has saved us so much time and energy. They also went out of their way and helped my mom in an emergency situation. They also are very quick and accommodating when last minute care is needed. We're deeply grateful for the support California CareGivers has provided. They've made a difficult journey feel a lot more manageable, and we can't recommend them highly enough.

We are so grateful for the exceptional care Mom receives at Jazba. At 86 years old, she is…read morephysically healthy and remarkably fit -- her main challenges are related to memory. After three years of living with me, it became clear that Mom needed a higher level of structure, supervision, and social interaction than I could consistently provide at home. I began an extensive search, exploring nearly 40 different care options -- everything from large assisted living and memory care communities to smaller, private board-and-care homes specializing in dementia care. I asked tough questions about caregiver-to-resident ratios, staff turnover, nutrition, movement, music, routines, and social engagement. Jazba quickly rose to the top and became the gold standard by which I compared all other options. Here's why: A Warm, Homelike Environment: Each Jazba residence is a single-family home, full of light, warmth, and thoughtful design. Far from cold or clinical, they're inviting, clean, well-organized, and charming. Visitors and residents alike feel at home the moment they walk through the door. Nutritious, Family-Style Meals: Meals are prepared fresh each day and enjoyed together around the table. The menu follows the MIND diet -- rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and plant-based, high-fiber foods -- supporting both brain and overall health. Meaningful Daily Activities: Every day includes music, art, gentle exercise, fresh air, and light occupational therapy. Holidays, birthdays, and life milestones are celebrated with joy and creativity that rivals any kindergarten class -- in the best way possible. Field trips between homes build a sense of community and connection among residents. Unconditional Acceptance: Residents are met with patience, dignity, and respect -- always. Whether a story is told for the third time or a memory gets fuzzy, staff respond with kindness and compassion. This culture of acceptance extends to everyone in the home. After just a month at Jazba, my mom began speaking to me with more warmth and tenderness than I remember from my youth -- a transformation that still moves me deeply. Compassionate, Competent Care: The staff are not only incredibly kind, they're highly capable and organized. Detailed records are maintained for every resident, which allows them to tailor care and keep families and medical providers well-informed. Whole-Person Support: What sets Jazba apart is their commitment to the whole person -- not just the diagnosis. My mother is a lifelong Seventh-day Adventist, and her faith is central to her identity. I worried about how she'd feel when she couldn't attend church regularly. Jazba didn't miss a beat: the team helped arrange transportation when possible, and on Saturdays when she couldn't go, they streamed the service on the big TV so she and other residents could participate together. When I visited later that day, I found them making crafts and listening to uplifting music. It was beautiful. Connection and Communication: Every week, I receive text messages and photos of Mom -- laughing, doing light housework (which she adores), creating art, or exercising with others. She's been at Jazba for four months now, and I can honestly say: this is the happiest I've seen her in over a decade.
