They have the best birthday parties! The team made pineapple cupcakes, mocktails that were themed and all the staff decorated the house! It's little things like this that makes me appreciate Jazba Care. My aunt has been staying there for 6 months, and she is nearly unrecognizable! She's moving around a-lot better, she's really pleasant and happy and she loves the painting that she does nearly everyday! Very cool place. They have a large team and there is always a happy staff to greet you. Owner is always around the three or four homes, and GM is always around and each house has a house manager. There isn't and board and care that has anything like this around. This is definitely the best care home. I cannot speak highly enough on the quality of care and staff who took care of my mother during her stay here. The staff are very attentive and helped her perform all of her necessities with efficiency and dignity. Staff were available around the clock to help her get up and get out of bed, even in the wee hours of the morning. The owner, particularly, is extremely knowledgeable with caregiving and elderly care, and also helped my mother with her medication and breathing therapies for advanced COPD. They have developed food and activities that help the residents flourish. It was a great comfort knowing that mom had made new friends at Jazba Care; from other residents as well as with the staff and the owner. My grandfather lives with my family and I am his primary caregiver for him. My family was planning a road trip to northern California and Oregon. I have never heard of board and care before. I was told about Jazba Care by a friend and decided to call. From the moment I called, Shane, the owner/operator was amazing. She spoke with kindness and was very patient. She even helped us fill out all the forms that were required. My grandfather stayed with her for a respite stay (short-term care) for two weeks and he loved his stay. Shane sent videos and pictures daily. She provided a low sodium diet and event made gave me two recipes that my grandfather loved! My grandfather has dementia, CHF, diabetes, and COPD. He uses oxygen throughout the day and a CPAP at night. She has a background as a Respiratory Therapist and I felt so comfortable with her. I visited a TON of board and care homes in search of the best place for my mom who has dementia. Her previous home was no longer able to care for her due to her level of care. After seeing many mediocre homes I found Jazba Care and have been blown away by the level of kindness and compassion they have built their home around. It's a cozy and welcoming home with 6 residents. Owner Shane Stumpf is an absolute rockstar and one of the most caring people I have ever met. Shane and her staff treat my mom like a queen. The difference from my mom's previous home is like night and day. I wish all homes were like this one! Treating the residents with dignity, keeping them active and well-dressed. They really do so much more than the bare minimum that you'll find in other homes. They go above and beyond. My mom is doing so much better in this home! Her mobility has improved, she eats a super healthy diet (and likes it), and while she's mostly non-verbal, her cheerful disposition says it all. It's a very clean and active home, lots of daily activities, residents are always out in the common area during the day interacting with staff and with each other. Staffing ratio is so much better than anywhere else I visited. Each resident receives lots of individual attention. They have caregivers around the clock working in shifts (again this is how it should be everywhere in order to avoid burnout and have backups in place if someone is out sick etc). Every single caregiver is great! Shane and her staff are well-trained in dementia. My mom's condition is not considered a problem here like it was in her previous home. They welcome the individuality of each resident and taylor personalized care plans. They keep daily logs for each resident to track for trends or changes which in my mom's case has helped to catch UTI's early. I love their holistic model. I have come to trust Shane and Jazba Care a thousand percent. I can finally rest easy knowing my mom is well-cared for, and her caregivers are not just keeping her safe but also treating her with utmost respect and love. Moved tiny frail mom here. She soon became incontinent, non-verbal, ate w/hands, wobbly on feet. Jazba interfered & pressured Dr.'s & family to overmedicate. I interrupted phone conf betw Dr & Jazba. I told Dr. to prescribe med if ok with other family. Dr said: "But I DON'T WANT TO!" Owner did not follow Dr.s orders nor provide med'l docmts required by law and by Dr.s. Cited by CDSS for this. Waited for 2 hours in 95º heat to speak w/owner. Would not come out. Family not allowed to enter home even w/clean Covid test and mask, watched toilet installer enter w/o mask mult times 5' in front of residents seated by door as I waited. Owner finally came out to talk with a contractor and yelled at me that she doesn't have to talk to me. Another day, got call from Jazba, heard lots of shouting, said mom was agitated and mean. I was driving & couldn't talk. 30 sec later, parked in driveway. At door, heard laughter. Rang bell. Caretaker peeped thru window. Laughter stopped. Door opened. Asked to see mom. She was calm and happy to see me. Away from Jazba, my mom quickly recovered and is much better now. Don't put your loved one here unless you want to forget about them. read more

Wow, I am blessed to have someone like Shane in my area!!! I had to go overseas for a family emergency, and I don't know what I was going to do with my dad. My dad has lived with me for 3 years and I have been his primary caregiver. I found Jazba Care on Yelp and decided to call, but not really knowing where to start or what to ask. Shane took the time to listen to my concerns and hear the whole story, never interrupting and even offered to find something that was closer to home. My dad stayed with her for 3 weeks and really enjoyed his stay! I appreciated the calls she took and was quick to respond to any questions I had throughout the process. I am so happy to learn there are services like short term stays. My dad often asks about Shane, and Shane still stays in touch. She has amazing staff and the residents are amazing! My Brother spent his last days at the Jazba Care Home on Tuolumne Drive. His room was bright, cheerful, clean and welcoming. The amazing Staff were attentive and caring, meeting his needs. They even got my Brother outside on their beautiful Patio Area and provided him with a much-needed Pedicure. I felt that was such a Blessing, because he did not want to get out of bed, but they meet the challenge with Grace. He enjoyed the food and ate every bite. The Therapy Dog was such a welcome addition, making it feel even more like "home". While visiting with my Brother, I could hear the others singing or verbally working through their daily Exercises. So much positivity in what can often be a challenging situation. Thank you for helping me feel comfortable knowing my Brother was being cared for with Grace and Dignity. I've been researching different places as an option for my elderly parents to transition to in their " golden years." This isn't a position that any relative looks forward to doing. But, I was profoundly surprised when I visited Jazba Care, and was motivated to write a review, for others that are in the same situation. Immediately, I was impressed with the Director Shane! She immediately understands the emotions involved in making these kind of decisions. She answered questions that I never thought to ask and has extensive knowledge in the home healthcare industry. It really takes angels to do this kind of work and that best describes all the staff at Jazba! It's a small place and I noticed the residents are getting personal one on one attention (( big plus )) on my check off list! They even had a big 4th of July bbq that I was invited to join! I've even seen residents out in the community ( walking, shopping, running errands ) with the staff, and this was a nice surprise! We have been very happy with Jazba's care for my mom. Shane was wonderful in transitioning my mom into their home. They offer so many fun activities which provides much needed stimulation for dementia patients like my mom. We can see that she looks happier. She is much more alert, observant and conversant. Jazba has a variety of daily activities and the staff works hard to keep residents engaged and occupied. They limit TV watching time and residents are kept in the company of others during the day, not spending time alone in their rooms. The staff is caring and compassionate. At JAZBA CARE the high ratio of staff to residents makes for an atmosphere of healing...the small number of residents makes it feel more intimate - like a support group for the residents. It also makes it seem more like a family living situation...the residents look after each other...they say helpful things to each other, such as "You shouldn't use that arm that's the one that's hurt". Sometimes the residents walk on the sidewalks accompanied by staff (who keep a watchful eye so no one loses their balance and falls) in the neighborhood. At other times the attendants engage the residents in mind exercises and manual dexterity exercises. The people are a nice, cute bunch...on occasions they throw birthday parties, Valentines Day party, Saint Patrick's Day party, and more celebrations...photos of my relative show her smiling even though she is still healing. The medical therapist is a very astute and observant therapist who makes sure the residents eat healthy foods such as spinach and residents are given regular exercise and rehab time. The medical therapist and attendants are vigilant: they take the patients' vitals, and are attentive to their needs. Physical therapists can visit the residents and improve their range of mobility and exercise. The patients have their teeth brushed several times a day. When I could not find my relative's slippers at home the Medical Therapist went out and bought her some "house shoes" or slippers. Two thumbs up for JAZBA CARE !!! read more
