My 93 year old mom went from being on a ventilator, going to a local nursing home where she was neglected and suffered a septic shock seizure with urinary tract infection due to the nursing home neglect. Her blood pressure was dangerously low and sent to ICU. Monmouth medical did a great job stabilizing her and discharged her to Encompass. My mom could barely stand up when she got there, but she came in with a positive attitude. From day 1 they raised the bar high and told her, she has to work hard every day in therapy. They told her their goal is to get her walking with a walker in 14 days and send her back home. I was skeptical, thinking it was too aggressive. Low and behold, every day she was progressing both physically and mentally. She was treated like GOLD and went from the understaffed and neglect of the local nursing home to a team of professionals that worked her, cared for her and inspired her. By the 14th day she was speed walking and was discharged. My mom is home and is thriving. She is healthier now both mind and spirit and working hard on improving her mobility. With the great help of the VNA she has transitioned well and enjoying life on the Jersey Shore. My mom almost died twice and I am blessed she is alive due to Monmouth Medical and blessed she is home based on the fantastic rehab at Encompass. For months my grandpa was scoring in the range to be in assisted living (above 22 points out of…read more30), and then he scored an 8. Mattison Crossing gave my mom a two day notice to move him into memory care. Since we still own his house in East Freehold, we got him a live-in and moved him out. Mattison Crossing says that we have to give them a thirty day notice to move out if the facility to prep for the next resident. The other day, my mom got a bill in the mail for $20,000 because we refused to pay for April and May. She took pictures of herself outside of the facility and pictures with timestamps of his empty apartment before May 1. Earlier in February, there was a massive norivurus outbreak (or a stomach flu). Nobody cleaned the place so my grandpa had it for several days and everyone in my family, except for me, got the disease. We've had to cancel several family events during the time and we fell behind in after school curricular activities because we were out the whole month. My uncle visited from California in March to celebrate his 50th. He went to see my grandpa and got sick the day of his birthday dinner. The food at the place is unhealthy and greasy. The pancakes, salads, and various other meals are a grease bath. They ran out of ice cream for a couple of days back in the late fall of 2024. We moved my grandpa into Mattison Crossing to give my mom a break from his drama. It seems like since the move there has been more drama. $9000 a month for little to no care is what you get at this place. It is better to have a live-in full time because it costs less. Mattison Crossing can go burn in hell.

They were great--they came right away and provided a lovely full-time caregiver who really cared about my mom. When she was back on her feet in independent senior living, we continued to use Visiting Angels to help in the morning and dinnertime. When she moved to Assisted Living in that facility, she needed extra help in the morning to shower, get dressed and eat breakfast and lunch. Visiting Angels was there no matter the need. The caregivers are professional, kind, caring and responsible. Special shout out to Betsy and Jackie who my mom adored because not only did they help but they were great company for her. I believe the great care she received from Visiting Angels was responsible for helping my mom live to 102 with all her faculties intact. The ower, Steve, and the office staff, especially Donna, were always responsive even after hours and extremely helpful with whatever issue arose.
