But there is also a back room, that is literally flowers all over the walls and even the ceiling is covered with flowers to disguise the top floor that's there. And get this - there is a lounge that's opened on closer to the weekends and Thursdays is Ladies night! Of course we ended up sharing all the dishes amongst the ladies, so we ordered a little bit of everything between appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We ordered the Bread Service, the Octopus, the Crispy Brussel Sprouts, the Beef Carpaccio, and the Beets. Everything was delicious.

While that's never a great first impression, I tried not to let it influence my expectations. Timbr has all the ingredients of a great restaurant. The concept is unique, the atmosphere is inviting, and you can tell a lot of thought went into creating the space. It's the kind of place you want to become a local favorite. Unfortunately, where it falls short is the execution. Here is what they are doing right: Our server, Pal, was outstanding--an easy 5 stars. She was attentive without hovering, knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely made us feel welcome. The atmosphere is what will initially draw people in. It's beautifully curated, incredibly Instagram-worthy, and almost ethereal in parts. It's a space you actually want to linger in. Excellent drink specials. I appreciated the thoughtfully edited menu. I'd much rather have a smaller menu that's well executed, and this one offered enough variety for everyone. Here is where they need to reconsider: The music didn't fit the space. Throughout dinner I heard several upbeat Beyoncé songs, and while I love Beyoncé, it felt out of place in an upscale, foliage-filled dining room. A more cohesive playlist would elevate the entire experience, and that's an easy fix. The cocktails also took much longer than expected considering how few tables were occupied. I ordered a spritz that was just...okay. (I have never criticized a sprits before) That's another area that feels very fixable with a little refinement and consistency behind the bar. The food was good, but it was forgettable. Beautiful in presentation, but lackluster in the end. We had the Steak Tartar which had little/no flavor. I would skip the steak and just ask for the potato pieces with the mustard because those were excellent! For mains we had Sea bass, Cacio e pepe and Steak and Frites. The pasta was the best thing we ordered. It was fresh, perfect ratio of sauce and rich but balanced. There was nothing special about the others. They were not bad, by any stretch, but they were not dishes I would crave again, pay that price for again, or go back to have before going to another spot. I realize this is a harder fix.... Wishing the team nothing but success--I genuinely hope they continue refining the experience because I'd love a reason to come back.

Collett was simply sensational: warm, knowledgable, professional and meticulously detailed. She listened attentively to our needs and our concerns about protecting the small amount of income that my mom is receiving, and then presented different options, and their implications. I loved how she was focused on my mom, her needs and wishes. It was also immediately apparent that she was incredibly knowledgable about all aspects of elder care law, and different legal implications for a range of related service (power of attorney, health directive, Medicaid eligibility requirements, trusts, guardianships, etc). I liked that she is specifically certified as an elder care legal specialist. Her fees were clearly laid out and very reasonable, I appreciated that she had a flat fee, so we knew exactly what we were paying for and what to expect. Unlike a lot of lawyers, we had to pay for our initial consultation which gets deducted from the fee if you contract her. In retrospect, it was totally worth it. In that time she reviewed a range of documents, a long intake form she sent to us prior, listened carefully and laid out different alternatives for us to consider (whether or not we hired her to execute them). Both the initial consult and the cost for services are flat fees, not hourly. Even though it was a flat fee, I loved that at no point did we feel rushed, quite the contrary, she gave us her complete undivided attention for a pretty long visit and made it clear that we could call on her for any additional questions that might come up. She didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need (we already had an older will for example, which she reviewed and found that it was still valid, and still reflected my mom's wishes) and didn't rush us to make any decisions. We walked into her office anxious and worried, and left breathing a sigh of relief, not only because she took care of what we needed in a timely manner, but because we felt this was someone we could trust. As an added plus, she has a Spanish speaking assistant a few days a week, but she understands quite a bit of Spanish. The office is not that centrally located, but that probably also helps to keep her cost under control. Highly recommended!
