READ ALL THE REVIEWS before selecting another agency. You'd be better off with a high school or college student who babysits. After an emergency room scare, the family decided that my Aunt (with signs of dementia) would need assistance to be able to stay in her home, rather than an assisted facility as the nearest relative lives 3 hours away. At first she agreed and assisted us in starting the paperwork for a local "Senior Home", and we hired Senior helpers for the time until an apartment was available. Only caring for her the first month, Alice was wonderful. She helped her with household tasks, cooked her meals, helped her with hygiene and reminded her whenever a med was due. * The evening & weekend help, was less than helpful, if they even showed up at all. Mostly no-shows with-out replacements found, and one individual that I can't name or describe without profanity and violating TOS. Steadily improving health while I was driving down every week for the 1st month or so, RAPID decline AS SOON AS I stopped driving down.(AKA as soon as they weren't being watched) * Adult protective services was mentioned MANY times in various phone calls, and eventually a case was filed against ME (I was informed at the hospital at her time of passing that her Dr had cancelled the case against me a few days earlier? What case? filed by whom?) * They had stopped asking/offering her her meds, and even placed the Med reminder and the meds out of sight in the garage and in un-used drawers. * They assisted a woman with dementia to make changes to her banking and investments so that her family could no longer monitor and protect her interests. * Still Missing : a significant amount of money and A laptop computer At time of hiring Sr helpers, her Dr had predicted 2-6 years if she ate right and took her meds.... and under their care she lasted less than 3 months. Several months ago we hired Senior Helpers to provide round the clock care for our mother before and after her hospital stay for a total of about three weeks. We live 300 miles away. I am doing this review more as a public announcement to alert families of the pitfalls when seeking out senior care for their loved ones whether from Senior Helpers or any other agency. A couple days after my mother returned home from the hospital she discovered that all her jewelry was missing. The jewelry was valued at about $40,000. It was every piece of jewelry that had been given to her by her late husband during their 60 plus years of marriage, including her wedding ring. The jewelry was stored out of sight in drawers. We were relieved to learn that Senior Helpers was bonded for this type of thing. Well, after a couple of months providing testimony, an inventory list and receipts (my mom had 1/3 of the original receipts) they denied our claim. Actually they never sent us a denial letter. I phoned and was told it was unlikely anything would come of our claim because we did not know exactly which one of the girls had stolen the jewelry. We had also made a police report. The police never followed up with us after repeated phone calls to them. I was told by a detective they also needed to know exactly which girl had taken the jewelry. A few of the girls that cared for my mother were very nice and we repeatedly asked that only they come to my mothers home. But, understandably, these girls were in demand so at least 10 different girls came to care for my mother during the few weeks, including a girl that was on her cell phone speaking to her boyfriend in jail for much of each day. I asked the manager on a few occasions if the owner of Senior Helpers knew about the missing jewelry. I was surprised the owner never phoned me. I learned that the owner lives in Arizona and she only contacted me when I mentioned to the manager that Fox News had contacted us for an interview. The owner promptly called me to request that we not do an interview as it could destroy her business. During that conversation she offered to have all the girls polygraphed at her expense and said she had some ideas on how to recover the jewelry. Recovering the jewelry seemed far fetched but I wasn't going to argue with her. I hoped she knew something we didn't. We declined the interview with Fox but the polygraphs were never done. I never heard from the owner again. They happily took our $10,000. There was no offer of a credit. The moral of the story here is that you must lock up all valuables before having caregivers in the home. It doesn't matter that the agencies do background checks on their employees and that they are bonded. Also cameras should be installed throughout the home. Lastly I learned that staff members were negotiating to provide work for my 86 year old mother. My mom phoned me about potential car repair work and solar installation that would be done by family members of Senior Helpers staff. The office staff at Senior Helpers were mostly professional and friendly but I think this situation was not handled well by the owner. I assume that this situation could have also happened with any other senior care company but I would hope they would have handled the situation better. read more

With support from the Veterans Administration we were introduced to Senior Helpers for home help while I took time off work to care for my father. Our experience with working with the team was really great. Our care giver Leslie was phenomenal, easy to work with, took direction well, and always when above and beyond to make sure that my dad was comfortable and cared for and that I was supported during the process by means of light house keeping and other tasks. She really helped me through this process by providing me peace of mind and he ability to take some "me" time during the 5 Weeks we used Senior Helpers. We liked that the office staff worked with us to find the right aides that dad felt comfortable with. Our only complaint was that feedback regarding scheduling wasn't always given and there were times when workers showed up that we were not sure were coming because we never received a confirmation that someone was actually coming. I just read the comment by this agency. An absolute lie. My father lives with me now and has for 8 months. There was no "investigation" of me. She has called me an "abuser" to my father? This is astonishing this agency is unbelievable. Apparently, Senior Helpers, called Adult protective services on me 8 months before my dad came to live with my family. I had no idea that they had called adult protective services until after reading the business managers response to my review today. No one from adult protective services got in touch with me. No officials or police or any protective services contacted me about abusing my father. I made some calls and found out Senior Helpers of Clovis called adult protective services -after- I started reporting to the main office on one of their aides for not cleaning, not wearing their face masks, and walking away from my dads care when I asked them to put on a mask. I should add that same aide reported me to the police for harassment over the phone a month later when we fired Senior Care for neglect. Again, no proof no logged calls nothing I didn't have her personal phone number. Clearly the aide and the Senior Helpers of Clovis had retribution in mind. Their post about my being investigated was wrong and false. I wasn't investigated for anything they just simply reported me to adult protective services based on something one of their aides said. They made their response to my review of their Co. look as though there was some big investigation or my dad was being abused somehow. There was no investigation, at all, except a social worker visiting my dad and when that social worker called I happened to bring my dad lunch and my dad handed the phone over to me to talk to him and there wasn't any mention from the social worker about elder abuse or any interactions I had with my dad. The social worker discussed with me about my dads ability to get around. I called management 4 days ago and the business manger who posted the response refused to come to the phone, just as they initially refused to come to the phone when I called about their untrained aides crushing my dads medicine and giving all his meds crushed at one time. He could have died. After a 3rd phone call a supervisor said "we corrected our mistake." Their aides have no supervision, poor training, and now I discover the company reports family members who are caring for their elderly parents totally based on false accusations that don't even amount to an investigation. The picture below is of my fathers toilet (dated on my phone) when he was in their care. The rest of the small apartment was filthy as well. We are pursuing this libel in court. I might add, read their response, it is clearly ambiguous and meant to mislead: "As part of this advocacy, we were required to file an Adult Protective Services report and name possible abusers of this individual, which sadly include the person who wrote this review." "Possible abusers of this individual." "who sadly include the person who wrote this review." My father had no wounds, no medical check ups for abuse, no pictures taken from them nothing. I should state that no nurses from my dads care team at the VA, who see him twice monthly complained or reported possible abuse, just a couple aides and a Company. Senior Helpers who manufactured this whole thing after I complained about two aides and the horrible condition my dads apartment was in. Me and my family are going to pursue this to its bitter end. I called two days ago to speak with the business office that wrote their response to inform them we're taking them to court for libel and they refuse to come to the phone. They are hiding and they are going to regret saying on a public forum or anywhere that I was abusing my father, outrageous. I love my 93 year old dad/ vet I'm 65 years old and suffer from the worst effects of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Its difficult for me to care for my dad but I don't want him in a nursing home. He has been with us for 8 months now we don't get paid by the goverment and we don't ask for help except what he has coming to him through the VA..
