One of the favorites of locals and visitors is the Annual Lighted Boat Parade held in December of each year, weather permitting. Thousands of people flock to the waterfront with chairs, blankets and good cheer. They can view the lighted Christmas trees placed all over the waterfront, visit Santa Claus on the Embarcadero and cheer their favorite lighted boat entry. I have enjoyed being in the parade 3 years with friends. This is a family friendly annual event. Parking is available but get there early in the day and make a night of it. Traffic is thick when its over, but its well worth it! Check the weather before making your plans in case of postponement for safety reasons of the viewers and participants. The Morro Bay Yacht club participates in the judging of entries, Morro Bay Fire personnel are serving public safety and the Morro Bay Harbor Department and USCG are ready on the water. Dress festive and bring your HO HO HO!

We all met with Lisa who was most personable and spent time getting to know me, and assured me she would pair me with someone compatible. That she did! Brenda is amazing....and it turns out we have a lot in common! She is willing to do any tasks that help me with keeping up my household....laundry and routine cleaning. She helps me with my shower and washing my hair. Brenda comes for every visit with a cheerful and positive demeanor. When you live alone and can't get out for your regular social contacts, I have learned how special it is to have someone present to talk with each day. Brenda and I have many common interests, and the best part of my day with her is our time together just talking. I am not sure how Lisa arranged to choose Brenda as my home helper, but I am truly grateful....thank you Home Instead, Lisa, and Brenda.
