Send In the Clowns did an amazing job with our wedding step and repeat. Dealing with them was a pleasure, they did it super fast and it came out great. I knew I wanted a step and repeat but wasn't sure of the graphics but they help me figure out what worked best for our theme and colors. Then I came to pick it up and they made sure to wrap it secure because it can get crease very easily. This event space was fabulous. If you've ever seen MTV's sweet sixteen, this venue could possibly be where an episode would be filmed. I attended my cousin's baby shower yesterday and they rented the space from 4:00pm until 9:00pm. Everything was perfect. This venue holds 150+ guests and I honestly didn't even feel it. There was so much space to walk around, lounge, dine and drink. This place is very ideals for weddings receptions and any other large event. There was a bar, posh furniture, linen, a private DJ Booth!!!!! The private DJ booth was away from the guests and I loved this. I was in love with the high ceilings, fresh paint, white draping and matching posh furniture. There was a private powder room I assume for when they have weddings. This was perfect for mothers to visit to get away from the loud music and crowd. There was a velvet rope and carpet as you enter. Everything was situated perfectly, the venue had comfortable climate control and the event was well organized. I would definitely consider booking an event here. read more

I ordered a bouncy house for Saturday and he did a great job by bringing it on Friday but the bouncy collapsed.  I had to run in to the bouncy and rescue my kids who were choking because it collapsed on them. I then called them and Gabby said, "I told  you this particular bouncy was not in great shape, that you should have taken the Frozen Bouncy." "REALLY???? Gary, the owner, called me back and said he would replace it first thing Saturday.  We received the replacement bouncy in the afternoon on Saturday. I had a bunch of kids waiting around until he got there.  That was after being told that your order was for Sunday by one of the employees.  He then picked up the bouncy first-thing Sunday.  My beef with Gary is that he just makes excuses.  He says, "You need to read the contract that a full day is only 8 hours."  He tells me the reason his bouncy collapsed is because my electric outlet did not provide enough juice. AGAIN, REALLY???? He then told me that he did me a favor by replacing the bouncy in such a short time. REALLY??? On top of it, he patronizes you.  He says "you are so friendly and understanding and that you will definitely be back." Gary, no way in hell we will be back. We've booked Send In the Clowns 2 years in a row for our school carnival. And for 2 years in a row they have come up with excuses as to why they can't honor our rain date, despite the fact that is was mutually agreed on in our signed contract. This has left us scrambling for alternate dates during the months when the school schedule is the busiest. I can't honestly understand how a business can operate without honoring their contracts. Horrible. What a joke no pun intended. Wanted one of those lawn signs made with the individual letters. I ordered it two weeks prior. I should have known when they said pay cash. But I have faith. They said pick it up Wednesday or Friday. So I went Friday. I crawled thru a dump. A dirty disgusting "terminal" which is a perfect name for this dump. I honestly couldn't believe i was standing in such a dirty disgusting place. I finally get to someone who would acknowledge that i was standing there. I asked for the sign an extremely aloof guy at a computer said its not ready. Not sorry its not ready just like he couldn't be bothered "its not ready". I said you guys said Wednesday. He turns around points to a vacuum (why?) and said the machine went down. I said you could have called i was suppose to get this Wednesday. His reply was to stare at the computer. I honestly had to leave. This is one company i would not trust to not disappoint a kid having a party or one of your events. They seem to me like they really couldn't care less. Horrible company in my opinion. I left without any sign. I would not trust this company or the rude people who work there with an event. They couldn't even fill a lawn sign order. "Send in the clowns", PLEASE because we are still waiting for the clown we ordered from this company for my daughters birthday party today. I am also still waiting for the cotton candy machine and a DJ with any personality at all. HORRIBLE! We spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on tents, rides, DJ, face painting, etc. and I wiuld NEVER use Gary (the owner) or this company again. The attendants for the rides showed up 1/2 hours late, so I had 100 kids looking at the them and asking why they couldn't go on?!? AWFUL! We were promised a DJ who would "MC" the party and got a guy who never said a word and didn't do anything that we asked. We used this company last year and had a few issues, but Gary promised to make it right this year....NOPE! Sooooo rude! There was a party here on 96th Street and Lexington Avenue today and one of the staff members completely talked down to a little boy and completely humiliated him, everyone was just shocked at his behavior, he walked away and went on about his business. I was just a parent at a park adjacent to where they were hosting but I caught their name off the side of the truck to warn unsuspecting patrons to not give their money to these people. I sent the information he requested he told me the printing started and he would send me an invoice. I never received the invoice I contacted Gary asking for the link so I can submit payment I didn't get a response. I contacted him again asking what time the signs would be delivered and now 3 days later still no response and a disappointing birthday. Do not do anything with this company. I gave them a 450 deposit for my sons communion which was to occur in May. After numerous emails and phone calls no one got back to me regarding my deposit. I let this go until now and when I called I was told a manager would call me. No one did. I called again and was told that I'm not getting my deposit back because they don't have it and it says deposits are non refundable on my contract. It does not state that on my contract. No where does it say that. I was then told I was a bully and thought who I was when I said that it's not my problem they cant pay me back. I was told that parties are still occurring and I should have one. This company is used widely by friends for parties and my school district and I am going to spread the word to never use them again. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. They have a very good selection and the prices are very competitive. When signing your contract, make sure to lay out all load-in instructions/times, dimensions of spaces, including elevators, stairwells etc. You won't necessarily be asked for this information and you are still responsible if something doesn't fit. Overall, for the price, they are definitely worth using and the employees are friendly and usually responsive but "dot all your Is and cross your Ts." read more

We used them for our block party and last year they sent the WRONG bouncy house (a baby one). They promised the following year to make up for it by throwing in a slide. We tried NUMEROUS times to contact them and kept getting the run around. Bottom line is they did NOT want to live up their promise and I was out a lot of $ for their prior year mistake. Great company. They do everything here. This is also a great place to have an event. The capacity is 175 people. The person that runs this event space (I think his name is Patrick) is awesome. This past Saturday I attended a sweet 16 bash for twins. The place is pretty big. The theme was Arabian Nights with a Moroccan twist. This place can be set up to look anyway you want. There is a bar area, two bathrooms with a lounge area, a deep freezer, and a huge fridge. The space is big enough to set up a step and repeat area, a lounge/ cocktail area, and a dessert table. I was in charge of creating the dessert buffet, which if I do say so myself was awesome. It kept me busy for 2 straight weeks. Overall this is an awesome space to have a party. Take the F train to 169th street walk up the block (free transfer) to catch the N24 bus to 50 Nasssu terminal road and it takes you straight to the event space. read more

My job has used this company for various events and was never overly fond of them. I had my first main experience with them a few weeks ago and was not impressed. They arrived on site early so they were able to set up. We had ordered a few inflatables from them and had specific locations of where they needed to be. They placed one of them right at the foot of a staircase, blocking the walkway to the other side which was bothersome to say the least. About 45 minutes before our even was going to begin the other 3 inflatables stopped inflating and began to droop. We went over to find out what was going on and found out that their generator stopped working because it ran out of oil. That in itself was incredibly unprofessional. One guy left to get the oil and took 45 minutes to return which meant that the inflatables were not blown up by the start of our event. They did not seem to know what was going on and the other two guys were basically just standing around while they waited instead of setting up the popcorn machine or being productive in any way. We're definitely going to try to avoid using this company again. read more

I inquired about having a party at their "new" party space on terminal road. I met with the girl at the space and we spent almost an hour going through the options and touring the space. I was very interested in this venue, but the girl never called me with a price quote. I called her a few times as a follow up and even to her boss so that i could move forward. They kept telling me that I was a priority and they were sorry, but they were busy and would call me a few days later with a price. This only delayed me in the process of finding and securing a venue for my party. Iwould never give them money. If they can't even get back with a price, how could I trust them to coordinate the party on the day of the event? Very unprofessional. One major downside of space too, for those of you still willing to move forward with them despite their service, is that they have no kitchen facilities. So if you want to have food, it needs to arrive hot (avoid your typical fried appetizer foods). And if you want china, your caterer may charge extra be a use they have to cart away the dishes and glasses dirty. I wish someone had posted this review before I wasted my time with them, which is why I am writing it for the next person. Otherwise, I would never say anything negative. It's a shame, I really liked the space. I was willing to work with the lack of kitchen. But it is a very unreliable venue and when you spend so much money on a party, you need to be sure your venue is reliable and trustworthy. read more

And Send in the Clowns, they did...So disappointed at the unprofessionalism of this company and its owner. I urge you to find another vendor for your event. Two of the games that I contracted for were not delivered to the party I hosted to celebrate my son's bar mitzvah. Apparently, the company was not able to bring them to the second level where the party was taking place and failed not only to tell me in advance that the games couldn't be delivered, but didn't even contact me as they were setting up and figured it out! So I didn't know until I arrived at the party to see for myself that only two of the four activities were set up (air hockey and shuffle board were not delivered). No phone call, text or email from the company that day. As per our plan, these games were the only kid entertainment - no DJ or other kid activities. The only person from SITC attending the games was a young man at his first event! Can you imagine? He knew nothing and couldn't contact anyone for the first 20 minutes of our event. Today (Wednesday) - more than three days after the event - I got a call from the business owner. No one had responded to the email I sent on Monday to the company agent who helped me book the games and with whom I worked on the contract. The owner who called me today didn't even know about the email! I requested that that the company send back part of the deposit I had paid (a $869 deposit and I requested back $369). In response, the company owner told me he would not refund any part of the deposit and that "life is full of disappointments" and I should learn to deal with it. The guy was moralizing to me! Who the --- does he think he is? I felt that paying $500 for a foosball table for a three-hour party and a photo booth that stopped working at some point during the party was fair enough given that I had to spend 30 minutes of a 3-hour party dealing with the problem. They did pull out some other games that were on the truck - Connect Four and Jenga, and the kids played with those (thank goodness), but those were not the games I contracted for. Let's see if I actually get the photos from the booth that should have been given to me at end of the party. I guess the brand new attendant didn't know he was supposed to give me the flash drive from the booth because he told me that they would be sent to me when I asked. I tipped the attendant because I felt bad that he didn't know how to help and he was there for the three hours and seemed like a nice guy. I just worked as an outside vendor over the weekend for a Wedding event at send in the clowns. The location was very spacious and after all set up it looked like a million bucks. Loved the venue the wedding looked very elegant and the owner himself was there during the whole event incase the bride and groom needed anything. Working as a bartender for over 6 years, he was once of the best owners I've delt with. He is very nice and genuinely cares. They have a really cool Dj booth and this place can accomodate a very large crowd. Will definetly recommend my clients to this venue. read more

For years a group I'm affiliated with at my job created events for young ladies to teach them valuable life lessons. Your tent and chair company couldn't deliver on time and did not take proper care of the merchandise they rented. On the morning of their elegant celebration (which required them to dress in white), they were underneath what we expected would be a beautiful tent (to shield the young people from the sun). The best company in the industry hands down is Send in the Clowns. Not only is the staff knowledgable but they are extremely accommodating. I've booked many events in my day and I have always used their services for all my party needs since I first found them. I have visited their warehouse and unlike other companies they really do own everything they advertise. It's always a pleasure to call their office. The event planners try their hardest to make your dream event come true. They never fail to exceed my expectations. It is quite a breath of fresh using them compared to any other company I have ever used. Not only is the staff exceptional but the owner is on of the kindest men I have ever met. He was born to do what he does. He is honest, accommodating, experienced and most of all an all around nice guy. There's just not enough words to explain how great they are, they can turn a negative into a positive when you don't think it's even possible. They usually show up well in advance to my parties and have everything set up with plenty of time to spare. In the business they are in its inevitable that things may go wrong such as an accident on the way to the party, a flat tire or unexpected traffic. The one thing they do great is communicating and I think that is key to the customer and business relationship. The one time they were running late to my block party they had called and explained they got a flat tire. The funny part is that they got there and set up extremely quick and started on time! The man who was in charge even stayed an extra hour to make it up to some of my neighbors who were a little nervous that they were running late. I've got all my friends and family hooked on Send in the Clowns and I will always use them. A 5 star review for their company does no justice for their exceptional service. I'm not one to write reviews but when I came across yelp and some of the negative comments I felt obligated to set the record straight. For those people who weren't so happy with Send in the Clowns here's a piece of advise. Party planners aren't mind readers, in order for your event to be perfect you must effectively communicate and acknowledge details big and small so they can accommodate all your needs. The last thing you want to do is assume they can tackle any unexpected obstacles you forgot to mention when you booked their service. They key to making any event a success is communicate. The reason this review is in all capitals is because I mean it, I took this company on two peoples recommendations and they too I will never take advice from as well. I ordered tables, chairs, a bouncing castle, cotton candy, and a popcorn machine for an event we were having for our company. We needed the tables and chairs for the day before so that we could set up ahead for our event. I called for days to find out an exact time and date that we would have our tables and chairs even the day it was supposed to be delivered. I kept getting the run around from Edward my sales rep. The morning of the event the place was closed and I was out of the tables I ordered for the event and had to do a workshop that was planned on an improvise. They delivered the chairs the day before and what they did was just dump them at the site I was having the event no call to say they had arrived. They assured me that they would set up and do everything guess what THEY LIED. You want a real company don't go with them or you will be ripping your hair out wanting to punch a CLOWN. Great guys used them for a Fundraiser. All the bounces they bought where nice and in good shape. They where very helpful and did not skimp out on the attractions. THey bought everything from a slide to your baisic bounce castle and we had not one bad thing to say about anyone from the companey They even bought carnival games and included the giveaways with the games. read more

They made my son's birthday party a complete success when another company (Touch of Class) fell through. I booked with them on the same day of the event and they were accessible when no other company was that weekend. I worked with Lindsey throughout the booking process; she was courteous, patient, and professional. She really put me at ease when I thought things were going to fall apart. They were very reasonable and worked with my budget. The items I ordered (the same day) were delivered and setup earlier than stated. As if that wasn't good enough we were able to keep them overnight, which allowed us to keep the party going longer unlike other companies that want to limit your time and pick up the same day. Would never use them again. In fact, we are already shopping around for a different company to use for our school carnival next year. The night before our event, only half of the equipment was delivered and nothing was set. Thank goodness we are a bunch of strong ladies. Made arrangements with SITC to open the school early the next morning, so we show up at 8 am like arranged. The obviously high-as-kites SITC crew shows up two and a half hours later, still without all of the equipment we needed. At one point DURING the event, the owner suggested I run to the store to get the rest of what the forgot to bring. It was ridiculous. Completely unreliable and would not give us a discount to make us happy or keep our business. They really are a bunch of clowns. read more
