    Beef Croquet Bento
    Jeff I.

We stopped for a quick meal after a weekend sports event. We had the Beef Croquette Bento and the Beef Curry with Pork Cutlet. Fabulously cooked and tasty. The crunch was good on the fried food and the sides were delicious. The croquettes were crunchy, fluffy and darn good. The curry was yummy. Just a small hole in the wall restaurant. My only complaint is that it is far from our home.

We had a wonderful experience at SEN in Stanwood, very close to the high school. The owners were incredibly sweet and welcoming, making the whole visit feel warm and inviting. You can really tell they care about their customers. The place was clean and comfortable, and the food was simple and satisfying. The menu isn't overly fancy or overwhelming, just good, straightforward options that are easy to choose from and enjoyable for everyone. If you're looking for a relaxed spot with friendly service and no fuss, this is definitely worth checking out!

Traditional breakfast with spam and traditional breakfast with mackerel. Yum!

Delicious traditional Japanese breakfast! My son recently spent a month in Japan, and he originally brought me here to feed his craving and give me a breakfast adventure. The owners are incredibly nice, the space is clean and well-organized, and the food is spectacular--enough so that breakfast here was my Mother's Day celebration request! Highly recommend.

On the way home from my morning workout, I stopped by out of curiosity and these wonderful people made me some delicious miso, spam musobi and omurice for breakfast at 6am! The service kinda blew me away and I was mesmerized by the food prep show on the TV. Thank you for bringing your unique awesomeness to Stanwood and creating this cozy space and sweet Japanese comfort food for us!

Came in on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted by the owners! My wife and I were delighted to stumble upon this very authentic Japanese restaurant. My wife had the tonkatsu curry which she loved! The flavor were on point with some of the best curries we've had in WA. I had the beef curry on rice which I also enjoyed the small bits of cubed beef. We also ordered the oyakodon which was pretty tasty considering it is mainly rice and eggs. We're from Hawaii, so we know good Japanese food, and Sen is as legit as you can get. My only regret is that they aren't closer to Seattle. We will drop in whenever we're in Stanwood!

Egg and Pork cutlet donburi, the best!!!

Found this hidden gem recently and I have not had better tasting Japanese food since moving away from Honolulu almost 4 years ago, I love the donburi with pork cutlet, so delicious!! My wife and son love the Japanese curry with any addition. I've been trying to go as often as I can! The kitchen is immaculately clean and the owners are such lovely people! I wish this place much success! A+ for service, cleanliness and atmosphere

    Spam musubi

Have been craving good spam musubi since we got back from Honolulu and was really excited to find out this spot opened up for breakfast and lunch! I was in a rush so only got a chance to try the one item for a quick grab and go lunch. The spam musubi was fresh and piping hot, and was ready in 5 minutes from when I called in. I do wish the ratio of spam to rice was higher; I found the bed of rice was a lot thicker than what is normally expected and it overpowered the spam. I also wish the spam was marinated; it tasted like it was heated up but not grilled and lacked any additional flavour I'm used to (soy, brown sugar, mirin, etc). The restaurant itself is super clean and the person working at the register was really friendly. I'll definitely be back to try other menu items and would give the spam musubi another go too as I know they've only just opened.

I had the beef curry with pork cutlet. 100/10

Great Japanese style food but no sushi. Very out of the way and hard to find but worth the effort.

A pretty standard Teriyaki place…read more The portion sizes were large with lots of chicken and a good quantity of rice, which was the strength of this restaurant. The chicken was tender with pretty standard flavor, but had a little more much sauce than I like (as is common with Teriyaki restaurants). I did not find the salad appealing - iceberg lettuce with an Asian sesame dressing -- pretty nondescript and not great. The California roll was ok, a nice appetizer to go with the teriyaki. They had a few kinds of sushi and a variety of other Asian food offerings, meaning a fair amount of choice. The restaurant does a very busy takeout business, as well as having several tables occupied inside. It is clear that it is a local favorite. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food came out quicker than promised. FYI: parking can be difficult on Friday or Saturday night ... more people want to go than there are spaces available.

It was weirdly sweet and super drippy. It looked and tasted more like japchae with onions instead of noodles. It spilled on my jeans as I pulled it out of the bag. My friends had other bentos that they enjoyed, and I liked the sides in the bento. Just don't get the bulgogi. May I give a suggestion? We stood there watching the counter help open the same boxes over and over because they couldn't remember what was in them. I wanted to scream "WRITE IT ON TOP!!!!" I estimate 50% of the counter worker's time went into reopening and reorganizing the boxes, leading to orders hanging out there longer than necessary and wasting time. I would happily donate a sharpie.

Last night, my fiancé surprised me with the most incredible birthday dinner at Whiskey Prime…read moreSteakhouse with 10 of our closest friends and family. From the moment we walked through the doors until the time we left, the experience and service were absolutely top-tier. Thank you to the entire team for your kindness, hospitality, and for making our first visit one we'll never forget! Before we even ordered, each table was served a warm, round loaf of bread with herb butter. Oh my...this was heaven! The bread was soft and fresh with the perfect crust, and paired with the flavorful herb butter, it was nearly impossible to stop eating. It was the perfect way to start the meal. There were 11 of us, so I was able to sample quite a few dishes and capture about half of the table's orders for this review. Starters A couple of the guys ordered the Caesar Salad, and I had to sneak a bite. It was packed with flavor, topped with crispy bits, and was large enough to share or easily enjoy as a meal on its own. Another guest ordered the Wedge Salad, which was loaded with tomatoes, creamy blue cheese dressing, and crispy tobacco onions. It disappeared quickly (minus the onions!). Entrées Four of us ordered the 8 oz USDA Prime Filet, cooked to perfection. Every steak was juicy, tender, and absolutely delicious. My fiancé ordered the 24-Hour Wagyu Short Ribs, and they were phenomenal. The meat was incredibly flavorful, fall-off-the-bone tender, and literally melted in your mouth. The plate was cleaned! Another member of our party had the Roasted Chicken Breast and couldn't stop talking about how moist, flavorful, and delicious it was. Definitely a winner. Shareable Sides The sides are designed to be shared, which made it perfect for our group. We ordered: * Corn Ribelets * Wheatley Potatoes * Loaded Baked Potato * Yukon Potato Purée * Beef Tallow Fries The Corn Ribelets were hands down the best I've ever had! The seasoning was incredible, and while they came with a chipotle aioli, they honestly didn't even need it they were perfect on their own. The Wheatley Potatoes were unlike anything I've had before. Think crispy, rectangular hash browns topped with Parmesan cheese. They were absolutely divine! The Loaded Baked Potato was ordered by my daughter (definitely not meant for sharing!), and she loved every bite. It was generously sized and loaded with all the classic toppings. The Yukon Potato Purée was light, fluffy, and buttery, served with a flavorful chimichurri that complemented it perfectly. And the Beef Tallow Fries... WOW! Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and not a single soggy fry in the basket. They came with dipping sauces, but honestly, no one even used them because the fries were that good! To top off an already amazing evening, the restaurant surprised me with a delicious birthday dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch. I truly can't say enough about the service. Several team members checked on our table throughout the evening, and our waitress was exceptional. She took the time to explain the menu, recommend shareable sides, describe the dishes, and made sure everything was perfect. Her knowledge and genuine hospitality made the evening even more special. Thank you again to the entire team at Whiskey Prime Steakhouse for an unforgettable birthday celebration. The food, atmosphere, and service exceeded every expectation. We will absolutely be back. Until next time, Whiskey Prime!
