The owner's husband, Alan (who is so sweet and adorable) credited her with all the fabulous finds there. (And I have to give him so much credit too. She was not on the premises, and he was just wonderful, helpful and kind.) The "jewels" here to experience (prints, trinkets, tchotchkes, lovely scarves and wraps, jewelry and more) are just fabulous, as is the layout that just keeps your eyes turning on such wonders from so many artists. Everywhere I looked I saw incredible finds. Glass wonders with jellyfish. Beautiful Ayala Bar jewelry (my favorite jewelry artist). Gorgeous pottery from south of the border. As I first stated, I was "called" in from some lovely outdoor sculptures outside as I was walking the pier and found a majestic bunny, whom I've named "Two Moons Rabbit" and who now graces my outdoor space. Lovely place!!! Just lovely...and Alan even gifted me a little soap!

The items were wonderful, and the clerks were very helpful and friendly. My wife spotted some earrings she really liked, but she felt they were a little out of our price range, so she decided not to get them. After she walked away, I asked the clerk, "Did she like them?" "Definitely," replied the clerk. So, it being the holidays and all, I said, "Ring 'em up." The clerk quickly and slyly (my wife was still in the store) took care of the sale, and I was able to surprise my wife later with the beautiful earrings. We had a wonderful experience, so I highly recommend if you're ever in LaConnor, WA, stop in Two Moons Gallery.

Located in midtown La Conner the Ginger Grater is a definite "must do" if you're of the culinary…read moremindset. It's a great place to browse for the latest and greatest kitchen gadgets, pick up some local sauces, jams, and/or spice mixes, or grab some eclectic tableware for your next gathering. In other words, I always find some way to spend my money in here. One my most recent visit, I finally invested in a butter bell and was really excited about all the colors they had. I'm pleased to report, that (days later) my butter is soft and fresh and safely kept in its blue crockery bell. I also picked up a few odds and ends for the charcuterie boards I seem to find myself making often - a few decorative toothpicks, some tiny tongs, and even a miniature scoop somehow found their way home with me. At the counter, I even grabbed a La Conner magnet for my collection. The shop is sort of expensive, but not beyond what you might expect in this touristy little town. I've made a goal of doing more local shopping this year, and although I could probably have found my butter bell a bit cheaper online, I was proud to support this small business (while also supporting my butter habit).

(Dad joke) Olive for this kind of store! (/Dad joke)…read more But seriously, who doesn't love jarred, canned, pickled and fermented goodies packed tightly onto shelves, waiting for a discerning, drooling palate to sidle on by and slide a few into a basket for purchase? Places like this are my weakness, and I usually have to restrain myself immensely on how much I allow myself to buy, or I'll be in serious financial trouble! There's more here than just olives: garlic, sauces, jams and jellies, mustards and other condiments, pickled veggies, vinegars, oils, wine, kitchen goods, cookware and doo-dads, books, apparel, and likely a whole lot more I overlooked, while whittling down my selection to a handful of jars. Apparently I have good taste, as one of the employees remarked that I'd picked his two favorite olives in the entire store. Samples of olives and related products are available, but limited. Employees are very friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. This is the sort of mercantile Mecca you hope, nay, pray to find while shopping in a small town, and the Olive Shoppe & Ginger Grater does La Conner proud!
