The library itself, is quite beautiful inside with lots of natural light pouring into the unique architecture. Just had to walk around a while to enjoy the picturesque building. The library staff was friendly and very helpful in helping me with all of my questions. Lots of desk/table space and electrical outlets everywhere. Overall a great library to visit.

The main complaints I have are two. First I was stopped by an Indian Security and he asked if I had a mask. I was wearing a face covering and he said it was UNAPPROVED. Approved by whom? By what? I don't like this blue masks which are laced with carcinogenic ingredients and my own cloth material covering is clean and I don't want to breathe in anything that is harmful. He insisted I used the mask he gave me. Nothing but playing power trip. NOT IMPRESSED. I got an email notification about a video to pick up but when I showed up it was no where be found on the shelf under the initial of my last name. While I did get help from one of the counter staff and I told her perhaps someone just took the video and watched it inside the Library etc. This happens a lot in Vancouver Main Library as well. No, she offered to cancel my video and then put me back on ordering. But she did not place me on the next in the queue but back at the end of the waiting list. I waited weeks for this title now have to wait again. Poor management. Trust me IF I can find the same item in downtown I wouldn't bother to have to take 2 buses to Surrey!

I did find that it seemed like they had less computers for public use (I say about 30 computers here) than other libraries but again it is a smaller library located inside the Guildford Recreational Center. The washroom was quite cute. There are step stools for shorter kids. Very thoughtful. The library was very well maintained given that it is slightly over 10 years that it was last renovated. I am also guessing the tailored audiences are toward students in high school and elementary.

In…read moresaying that things had changed more than a little bit so I sought the help of a librarian at the info desk. These ladies are super helpful and wonderfully gracious. They helped me find what I needed, helped me register for a new card as my paper card was no longer valid (surprise, surprise) and gave me the lowdown on how things worked there now. The building is lovely and fairly open, it's kind of loud though. I didn't expect so much noise. I'm more used to school libraries where people are using them to study rather than using then as a community space, not that there's anything wrong with that. I was in and out quickly and there was plenty of parking. The grounds are actually quite pleasant too. Overall, great experience!

Sometimes I feel thigh in some section, and the strong orange tiles in the washrooms (both on top and lower floor) are TOO AGGRESSIVE for me I prefer something more cool (white-gray-light brown kind of color) - same for elevator. Plus the meeting room on the second floor lacks air - it is often exhaled / not fresh as windows are completely closed and there is no A/C. It does not need to be bigger, just updated. Thank you

This Fleetwood branch of the Surrey Public Library is pretty decent for its size. Its not the best…read moreplace to go study though, because more than half the time, all the tables are snatched up! They have a really big childrens section in this library where you could find just about any childrens book possible. The community centre portion of the library is also pretty decent - equipped with a small gym, some multipurpose exercise and arts and crafts rooms. The staff that works in the building is also really friendly - helping you with anything that you may have to ask.

Although it might not have the biggest selection, you can just go online, find the book or material you want, put a hold on it, and it'll get delivered to the library via another partner library. That's why I'm not bothered by the small size of the library - I haven't had trouble finding material I've needed as I can get it delivered from another library. All in all, I'm so glad we have this place in the neighborhood!

Even though the library is small…read more(you can stand on one side and see the other side), it feels spacious with bright lighting and large windows for a view in the cozy fireplace corner. There are a couple quiet study rooms at either end that can feel a little claustrophobic, but they serve their purpose. I've never had an issue finding a place to sit, even if it's in the kids books area. The library is conveniently located in a complex with grocery stores, restaurants, and even Starbucks across the street for a change in ambiance.

It's super easy to find parkings here too. But I noticed that after 3:30pm, it gets a bit noisy, especially around the big table areas (even though the sign says it's a silent zone).
