It's not just me who is crazy about it either, there are never any leftovers (a shame really) because it's just that delicious. They also make what are thought to be these odd little pastelitos de carne (beef), pollo (chicken), or piña (pineapple), which have a semi-hard empanada like exterior with a semi-crunchy edge (not flaky) and they are covered with grains of sugar, each about the size of a dumpling. Sugar and beef on chicken? That's crazy! Yea, well, try it. It's a Nica bakery thru and thru serving up picos, bolillos, quesillos, crema, cuajadas, Pio V, cacao, & cebada; but they also serve up a pretty good blend of cuban coffee, pastelitos de guava y queso, croquettas, tequeños and even colombian pan de bono. Come for the cakes but don't shy away from the snacks and the authentic Nica items, all freshly baked, cured, or handmade daily. Oh yea, did I mention they make a tres leche that makes even lactose intolerants wish they could eat it simply from the expressions others make? Don't leave this place without trying a slice of that Nicaraguan heaven.
