We needed a new storm door installed. So I removed our old damaged door, purchased a new one and…read morethought I could just easily install it myself. As soon as I read the instructions I realized I was completely in over my head on this. Lol. So I contacted Solomon Handyman Services through Google. I got a fast response. We set an appointment for the following day. He showed up on time and ready to work. He not only hung the door, he showed me how to adjust the glass and screen. He was kind, professional and did a wonderful job! I would recommend this company and I will definitely use them again.

This was hands down the worst experience I have had with a company like this. The guy they sent…read moreover didn't do the job right at all. Then they tried to blame it on me, and gaslight me that the before pictures showed "exposed wiring" when they clearly didn't. Then in the process of coming back to "fix" the job I was told he was going to leave my property to get a part and Come back later. No. Instead he pretended to leave, and when I went back into my house, snuck back and did unauthorized work. I also had to tell the guy to stop touching me repeatedly. The owner of the company said to me clearly that he thinks it's just fine and dandy for his employees to be touching customers. And I'm a man. I wouldn't let this guy in my house if I was a woman with that attitude. His "manager" also thinks it's ok to bully customers in the phone and mock disabilities. I have all of this documented on my RING camera too.

Mainly giving this company 2 stars for two reasons: they charged me 80 dollars just to come give…read moreme an estimate... which they put in fine print and charge at the end, so it feels very sneaky and dishonest. And also why am I paying someone to come see a job and talk about paying them more? And secondly, they quoted me 16,600 to build a 6ft wall and doorway in my (finished) basement, and hang 4 doors (which they decided they wanted to make smaller and take apart in a pretty much finish basement.... Which is pretty obscene. I've done a lot of work in past so it's pretty high up there. Would've given zero stars if I could, but one star would only be for the gentleman who showed up (and just works for the company and doing his job) was very nice and personable and also seemed knowledgeable. And I'm sure he is not the one making this huge upcharges in work. But overall I wouldn't recommend and also felt it was weird and sneaky to charge me after the estimate 80 dollars to come to my house to talk about the job. The company should be paying their workers for their time, or have them disclose and ask for the payment when they arrive so I could have the opportunity to decline. So for that alone it reflects as dishonest.

I used them years ago and used them again this past fall to install all my window shades. Now that we are in the pandemic, I had to wait until phase 2 resumed in NYC to screen-in my terrace.. Pauline, in the office, knew that I was eager and scheduled me within a week. Teddy, the owner, personally installed my screens in the high heat of a summer day. He did a beautiful job. He left everything very neat and clean. The screen is beautiful. I have been enjoying my little oasis in NYC. I don't have to worry about my cat jumping off the terrace. I leave the window open and he could jump in and out all day.I am more than grateful to Central Shade and Glass.
