Been seeing Smita for a few months now and the results have been phenomenal after receiving limited availability with Kaiser occupational therapy department. I sought out an outside O.T. I called all over southern California (L.A. , O.C. , I.E.) from the very first inquiry smita was kind, polite and very caring and reasonably priced. She didn't turn my insurance away like the other facilities did and in fact, she made sure that she'd find a way and she did. That's exactly what I was looking for in a therapist especially during recovery from an injury that caused Duputryns syndrome. She is very patient, calm, diligent and understanding although I was very doubtful at first that I will be able to heal. Smita reassured me and sure enough, she got me twice the outcome the doctor said I would be able to achieve! I can't recommend Smita enough! I came to her for occupational therapy on my dominant hand, and from day one, she was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. I came to Selective Rehab after a motorcycle accident where I broke my wrist and needed a plate put in surgically. Smita is amazing, she devised a stretching and strengthening routine that got my wrist working as close to normal as possible. I have had many experiences with different PT places and often you feel like you're just being shuffled between different people and it's more of an assembly line feel. With Smita, it's the opposite. Unfortunately, within a few months I figured out that I have thoracic outlet syndrome that relates to issues around the neck area. Smita does not do therapy around the neck area, so I chose to cancel my treatment with her for the time being. However, that does not change the Experience I had with her. She was one of the most thoughtful, caring and communicative therapists I've ever been with. Just being able to text her and call her at any moment for any assistance was very helpful through even when my symptoms were staying the same or getting worse. The nerve glides she taught me as well as the ultra sound Therapy and wax therapy felt good. If you have actual hand, wrist or upper extremity issues and they do not link to the neck, I heavily recommend going to her. Even if you don't have insurance that works with her, she's still relatively more affordable than other places I've looked into. And as far as 1-1 treatment goes, outside some exceptions where she's had to treat two patients at a time, she's the ideal physical therapist to me. read more

I'm so thankful for Smita! I had a bad car accident that crushed my Hand and had emergency surgery which left two fingers broken and pinky amputated. Surgeon said I need to find a hand specialist fast to keep movement and nerves from dying. After not being called back from Kaiser for two days I was already days behind finding a PT so I searched google and Yelp and she seemed like she knew exactly what the surgeon was telling me I needed without even explaining what he wanted in a PT. 3 weeks after a crushed hand I'm already going back to work as a hairstylist! She's so caring, so professional and definitely knows what she's doing. Pricing is extremely reasonable and I feel well taken care of! I'm shocked with how fast I'm progressing. I would recommend her to anyone who's rehabbing wrists and hands. Especially when you need physical care I feel like it's so important to have someone who you can tell truly wants to get you better. (I even tried Kaiser a few more times for insurance purposes and still decided to comeback and pay out of pocket instead) I get more care from her than I would from them. While this is not the best scenario to develop a professional relationship, it became very clear that she was an unbiased and truly professional therapist.
