Not a good place to work, aside from the normalcies that go with a staffing agency they take it a little farther. Method of payment, they give you the option to have direct deposit, a pay card, or check. They will only give you the pay card, therefore you will loose money in fees and such. They will not grant you access to your pay stubs, if you select the link to try see them via computer you're directed to another site were you would need to be a member of payroll to gain access. There would be inaccuracies in payment that may go unnoticed with this kind of practice. Larger issue considering that one has given them banking information that isn't being used. Jobs, I was sent to a job site where by way of select they were hiring. The wearhouse themselves told me that they where moving to Arizona and that was the reason for them going temp. I was approached by a man at my work a few months back who told me that he works for Select and that if I'm not loving my job right now, I should go into select and they have these wonderful options for me and he really talked it up. I was at a point where I was looking for a m-f full time job and I was stoked at this possible opportunity. I came in early with an appointment a few weeks later and took all the tests that are required. They were beyond easy, I started to feel somewhat out of place because I'm somewhat well educated and I like to think of myself as pretty intelligent and the tests were like seriously??? Who wouldn't know that answer. But I thought it would just lead me to some awesome job opportunities. My "recruiters" name was Victor. I didn't like him. He cut me off mid sentence throughout the whole meeting and didn't seem to give two craps about anything I had to say. Select staffing requires that you bring in your resume so they can "edit" it in ways that make you seem more valuable. Pretty quickly I was informed that there was a job interview he found for me at an office, he sent me a copy of my resume that he had rendered. Okay first of all, he added "skills" I DONT HAVE. Such as knowledge in Microsoft programs, filing, receptionist experience. I clearly had told him that I have ONLY worked in restaurants and retail. But I was thinking that maybe this is normal and they just want me to go along with this during an interview to get me the job but I fail miserably at pretending I have skills I just don't have. On my resume, I worked at Menchie's as a teen. When victor "edited" my resume he wrote "Munchies". Seriously? I expect that my information needs to be completely correct and that was just embarrassing and he had already sent my resume to this job. I could go on about some of the other jobs he had referred me to, which were all completely NOT what I told him I was looking for. Clearly, the staff here must just get commission off sending resumes regardless of whether or not anyone even gets the job because it was made very clear that Victor did not actually care about listening to my needs and was extremely incompetent. Worst staffing agency ever. My boyfriend came here because a friend of ours referred him to apply at the same job the friend was at. He went, filled out an application and got the job right away. He was there for about a few months until they let him go due to being late just once or twice. I saw when he arrived and he was late about 2 minutes. They told him not to return. He then went on another job hunt and found a company closer to our house and went to apply and it turns out it was through the same agency. They told him he got the job and started the next day. He was only there about a month and was randomly told not to return because of the exact same reason. After this, they reached out to him and told him they had another assignment and to call the number back. He did, left a message, heard nothing back. Called the next day to get more information on the assignment and once again hasn't heard anything back. Hi I been working for select staffing for almost 1 month they found me a good job but when I came by to brought some paperwork for my recruder the lady in the front desk was really rude & defensive so I asked her if she was having a good day which make matters worse then she ask to see my ID which they never ask before then she ask what that I need it so I told her that to update my social security so she asked me to give to her to make a copy what I reply I don't feel comfortable doing it which she just started to mumble an said the word fuck which I say excuse me she just keep walking but this time I start to get upset I want to give her the benefit of the doubt & having a bad day or just didn't like me but that not way to treat anybody or an she left me know that was people listening & recording that conversation which is ok the should that way they can see how the front desk treats the costumers read more

Well where do I start. Ok so a couple weeks ago I was laid off from my previous employment since it was moving out of state. I was going to a job interview and on my way from the interview I saw select staffing and I though to myself well I'll give it a shot it's an employment agency after all. I went in they had me do an online application. Once I was finished they told me to meet with patty. I had a quick interview, she was super impressed with my resume that she told me I need to talk to Adriana which was the branch manager. So I talked to Adriana. She was super helpful and very sincere in helping me out find a job. She told me about this particular company called Thomson Instruments. She told me that I was an ideal candidate and that she could negotiate a good pay rate for me. Very quickly she arranged an interview with that company. When I got to the location for the interview I found it very odd since it was in the middle of a residential area close to the beach. It was a small warehouse. I went in and interview with a lady named Maritza. The lady Maritza didn't care a bit about the interview all the company wanted was to have another body working there. Well after my interview I called Adriana and told her the interview went ok. After a day I got a call from Adriana saying that Thomson instruments wanted me to start ASAP. I though well the pay was good and why not take it I need money. I started July 8th when I got to the job site I saw a bunch of people some of them were nice others DEFINITELY and I emphasize DEFINITELY were odd people. I was told that I was going to work in QC with a lady named lupe. I introduce myself and she gave a look of whatever dude I don't care dude. That's when I realized that maybe was not going to work out. As I met and started talking to people some told they had been temps for the longest time some even over a year and there salaries where crappy with crappy benefits too. That's when I realized I was stuck in a dead end job. Thankfully the next day I got I call from another employer who offered me employment directly with no employment agency to deal with. I will start my new employment next Tuesday July 16th. SELECT STAFFING please please don't lie to people and make them believe they are going to end up having a good job when in reality it's only a dead end job. I know it's your job to find people jobs but at least try to tell them the truth and tell them what they are getting there self's into. ADRIANA you are a wonderful and kind person and I believe you are the only one who sincerely and honestly wanted to help me find a job. the rest didn't care one bit. I was treated with disrespect. The recruiter scolded me for not bringing in a resume. I had fax'd one to her and completed an on line application. She did not mention that I needed to bring another one. What happened to the one they had? I don't make it a habit to kill trees. I produced one from my folder and she still berated me. I asked for the manager and she left the room, turning the light off when she did so. I followed her out in the dark! I'm serious, thie did occur. Terrible simply terrible. They will waste your time and lie right to your face just to get you out of their office. I started with them in 2017 and Virginia gave me a three day job at the Carlsbad Mall I got there an hour early and there were quite a few other people there for the same job. Well I waited there for 5 hours in the heat and they're client never showed up the whole time on the 6th hour select decided that they should give me a call to tell me that the client had cancelled and I could just go home. Then they made me go all the way to their from Escondido where I live for a 20 dollar check. So I tried to give them more chances after this and they had put me on a blacklist and blamed me for the horrible experience I had with the mall job I couldn't even get past the call center that filters their calls and decides who gets to talk to someone at the actual office so I had to argue with them more than once that it was not my fault and that I should not be punished for their mistakes they said they would investigate it and hung up on me. They finally admitted it was not my fault but I had a job at that point already which I'm not working at anymore. So just about two weeks ago I decided to give them a call and see if things would go better. I had to deal with the call center never got to speak with a agent from the office once. I updated all my info online like they asked and the call center agent told me to go into the office at 2pm that same day. So I got there 15 minutes early. They weren't even aware of the appointment and acted like I should not even be there. First Patricia came out giving my the dirtiest look possible which does not do her face Justice at all but oh well. We went into to her little office and she's extremely rude right away acting like I shouldn't have come regardless of the appointment. All she could say was that I messed up with the Carlsbad Mall job and that she had no jobs for me at all and that she had no idea why they would tell me to come in. Then I had to speak with the branch manager Adriana she was nicer and SEEMED sincere and PROMISED that she would do all she could to get me a job and she even asked me to give her a good Yelp review if she did basically begging me and I can see why she would want it so bad since there are none about this place at all I agreed that I would and thanked her then left the office she was supposed to call me the next day but did not I had to call her she said she had nothing for me yet and to give her a call on Monday so I did. She then told me she had a position in Escondido that they were just waiting for the contract with their client to be signed and reviewed and told me it would be done by Wednesday and she would definitely call me and let me know then and also promised that she would get me a job for a few days if that didn't work out who wants to work for just a few days... So Wednesday came I got no call as usual so I called her and she tells me that she's shopping at Costco at the moment (during their office hours when she sure be at the office) then gave me the same story that they were waiting on the client to sign the contract and it should be done by the end of the day and she or one of the girls from they office would give me a call later that day to let me know what happened no one ever called again. I tried to call Adriana the next day and she just kept forwarding my calls to voicemail and would not respond to the messages I left on her voicemail simply just avoiding me all together at this point. So today I try to call again and the same thing happens just forwarded. So I text her and let her know that I'm going to give her and her agency a Yelp review like she wanted. Then she called back immediately I did not answer cause I'm over it at this point I should not have to threaten them to get a response but that how these people work I don't even know how they work or even have jobs they're all very rude and can't own up to their mistakes. When I did not answer her call she text me with another excuse that she was in a meeting (which she always seems to be in no matter what time of the day it is) and that it's her son's birthday more excuses...I never give Yelp reviews not even to a restaurant that didn't do well cause it's just a waste of my time. But she was so adamant about getting a good one clearly cause they have none at all and made false promises right to my face. If you can't do something then simply just say it don't lie to people and waste their time and treat them like crap for it. This place is literally the worst even go staff is better then select and they're terrible as well so I think you get the idea here. I only suggest using this agency if you like being treated like crap have time to waste and love rude people. very very bad help. i called to get a job so they told me to apply on line and call after so i did. i called asked for maria like they told me to do and they told me she was at lunch. gave my name and phone number said she would call me back later that day or early tomorrow. never did so i called again same thing this time at 2pm not 12pm like i did the first time. same response she is at lunch name and number please the women says so i give it to her. no phone call back this goes on for 3 weeks now still same bs there poling. Don't go there for help they need to be shut down. Also asked for a manager to help me and they hung up. i hope more people post up on this company. I also told edd about them sense i got laid off. i work very hard to get a job i just got one today with out there crapy help. worst place ever read more
