She listened to us describe my father's needs, preferences, and physical condition and was candid and honest about the types of caregivers that were available. She patiently described the pros and cons of each level of service of caregiver, the associated costs, and guided us to the people she felt would best serve my father. Kim and Darlene at Select Home Care were always available to us to respond to our questions and concerns. When my father's health began to decline, and he needed 24/7 care, Kim and a Darlene quickly mobilized to add additional caregivers to the schedule to ensure my father had excellent care. The peace of mind this provided to our family was invaluable. Additionally, these care givers accompanied my father to the hospital anytime he was admitted which allowed our family to always know what was happening and receive reports from doctors and nurses even when we could not be at the hospital. Select Home care was the care provider for my late and cherished "Grandpa Jim" I can not express enough how relieved I was to know he was well taken care of as I live almost 2 hours from where he did. I was his only family in state and felt somewhat responsible if he needed assistance. Select Home care met with him personally to discuss his wishes for care, including a somewhat particular diet. They placed care givers and if he was not satisfied with any detail of a certain provider, they would place someone new. Then a perfect match, his provider made his meals, did household chores and made sure Grandpa was safe and comfortable in his own home where he wanted to be. I engaged the services of Select Home Care for my husband after he came home from the hospital. He has acute heart failure and is in hospice care. As I am only 5'1" and my husband is 6"1" I needed help in caring for my husband at our home. Select Home Care listened to my needs and hired a man who was very capable of being able to assist my husband during his illness. The care giver was not only knowledgeable but caring. He not only looked after my husband's needs but engaged in conversations where I could hear them talking and laughing which always made me feel good. After a couple of weeks my husband's health miraculously improved and I no longer needed Select Care's services I did tell them I would certainly use their services again if my husband's health declined. We received this care over 5 months; Darlene was always super responsive and accommodating to our varying care & scheduling needs.
