It was for a house that I was no longer living in and I was living 7 hours away. I explained to Chris that if he wanted the listing, he would have to do everything. What is everything? Be present at all showings, make sure lights are turned on and house is staged appropriately, be present for all work being done on the house(staging, repairs, improvements) and a weekly walk through to make sure nothing was wrong with the house. If I needed a suggestion on a repairman of any kind, Chris had someone to call. He would schedule repair, show up for appointment and supervise work being done. A couple of examples of things that I didn't ask Chris to do. He felt that my front patio was missing something, so he went out and bought two box woods for my front entrance on HIS dime. After my Home was under contract, we ran into a hiccup with a front porch repair. We were hoping to reuse the stone but it became obvious once the project started that we would not be able too. Knowing that it was a time sensitive repair, Chris drove out to the local quarries, found a matching stone, arranged delivery and secured the purchase with a credit card all in the same day so that work wouldn't be delayed. Who does that? I will tell you who, Chris! If you want the absolute best your money can buy, Call Chris. You will not be disappointed. Sincerely, James Smar

WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND EXPECTATIONS…read more Absolutely the most helpful and dedicated agent imaginable. In my family's situation, Christopher Cobb went above and beyond any expectations one could place on a real estate agent after my father developed dementia and had to be moved to California quite suddenly. After one telephone call from me in California, Chris assumed responsibility for every aspect of selling my father's home, from cleaning up and preparing the home for sale, to selling the house for more than we had agreed upon, to handling all of the escrow details. Wow. During our family's time of crisis, the fact that Chris stepped in and took care of the sale of my father's house in such a professional manner removed such a level of stress so we could focus on my father's needs out here in California. Can you believe he even took care of shipping my father's car to us? Wow. I cannot say enough good about Chris. If you want a realtor that will give 200% and more to get your house sold or to negotiate just the right purchase price, Chris is your man. I will be forever grateful to him for his generosity and dedication.

George's knowledge, dedication, and understanding of what we were looking for helped keep us sane through both the selling and buying processes. We were definitely picky buyers and looked at many many houses with George We ended up finding exactly what we wanted, where we wanted, at the price we wanted, and George is the one that made it happen. We never had the feeling that George was pushing us in a direction to benefit his own interests. He listened to us, and helped us throughout the entire process, from the beginning to the end. Highly, highly recommended. George is absolutely amazing....from the moment you meet him, until your closing...and beyond.

A month after I signed the contract, the listing agent told George that he didn't believe the house would ever make it to closing. Therefore, the listing agent was pretty much MIA for the entire process. George stepped up to the plate and took control of EVERYTHING which goes above and beyond what a buying agent is responsible for. I am so thankful that he is very experienced with short sales! George has put up with me calling him day and night for updates, concerns, and reassurance...and never made me feel like I was bothering him (even though I'm sure I drove him crazy more than once)! There was also a water issue that came up at the house that George offered and paid out of pocket for to ensure I was getting a problem-free home. I would HIGHLY recommend George to anyone who is looking for a very hard working realtor! I would definitely use George in the future!!

Wanted to look at an house and received the following message from the Realtor at John Greene…read more There is an up front fee of $50 to setup the viewing of the house, and a 3.5% buyers commission (non negotiable if you put in an offer) that a contract must be signed prior to viewing the house. While I understand the laws have changed around buyers commission and sellers commission fee, the percentage requested up front is more than the average commission received by sellers today... usually it's 6% total (buyer/seller) and 1% goes to the sellers company, and selling realtor gets 2.5% to 3.0% and buying realtor gets 2.0% to 2.5%. Even then everything should be negotiable between the buyer/seller which is what the law was changed to mean.. Would not recommend anyone deal with Amanda from John greene Realtor.

Selling in the luxury market requires more than data. It demands precision, expertise, and a team…read morewith the credibility and presence that commands respect at every stage of the process. We interviewed three realtors before making our decision. The data pointed us toward The Alice Chin Team, but what sealed it was a simpler question: who would I take into a boardroom or a high-stakes negotiation? The answer was Alice and Jim, without hesitation. Every step of the process was polished, seamless, and refreshingly honest. They brought professionalism and genuine warmth to what can be a stressful journey, and we had a lot of fun along the way. We achieved both our price and time goals, a result we are incredibly proud of, and one that came from the right preparation, the right positioning, and a team driven by excellence behind us. And then there's Jim. Jim is one of those rare people who makes every room better the moment he walks in. Charismatic, warm, and genuinely fun to be around, he's the kind of person you find yourself wanting to call just to talk. But don't let the warmth fool you. Jim is also one of the most honest professionals I've worked with. No spin, no games, just straight talk and a relentless commitment to doing right by his clients. He went above and beyond at every turn, anticipating needs before we even articulated them. If you are lucky enough to work with Jim, you will understand immediately why people who work with him once never go anywhere else. If you want a luxury experience to sell your luxury home, this is your team.

Our experience with Alice Chin was extremely disturbing. I encourage anyone who is considering…read moreusing her as their broker to take my review very seriously before moving forward with her. Throughout our transaction, we experienced inappropriate pressure and resistance regarding us using our choice of inspector and our decision to have our inspector support us during our final walkthrough to verify that mold was remediated properly. A buyer should be able to rely on their agent to protect their interests--not feel pressured or undermined during one of the most consequential parts of a home purchase. In general, anything we asked for, such as updates from the sellers about repairs, she framed as atypical and unreasonable. We felt very gaslit by her. What is even more unacceptable is her subsequent public discussion of our private transaction and personal disputes on her public podcast, presented entirely from her perspective and without important context. Having private client information discussed publicly without our consent was deeply disturbing and a serious breach of the confidentiality I expected from my broker. Given Illinois law's express requirements concerning the confidentiality of client information, I believe the disclosure may have violated applicable legal and professional obligations. In it she also decided to call my husband and I (who she earned considerable commission from) as "bad people" and "bad clients", along with sharing other disparaging characterizations of us. In her podcast she literally admits to greywalling us, mishandling our miscommunications, and being purposely unhelpful. I had held off on posting a Google review and just wanted to put the negative experience working with her behind me but discovering her podcast left me no other option but to post so that I could warn other prospective customers. This was not simply a terrible customer-service experience. It fundamentally undermined my privacy and interests during a process that is already incredibly stressful. Her unprofessionalism and lack of ethics is unbelievable. Alice - I'm sorry your feelings were hurt being called unprofessional and unethical (which you mentioned on your podcast), but actions speak louder than words and that's exactly what you are.
