The employees of Westchester Health have forgotten about the patient and only care about the money . The billing department run a scam between themselves and the doctors actual office , each one accusing the other of why a doctor won't see you due to a bill of $627.00 that ultimately is the fault of Westchester Health because it was submitted improperly and once the proper information is provided to the insurance company it will be covered . I have never experienced such total disregard for a patients health over money !!! Having been a patient for many years I can only imagine how much money they have collected from my scheduled appointments and now for the first time I have a balance of money owed and all they care about is how they are going to get there money rather than why the patient is calling about being told from his dentist that he should see a doctor about his high blood pressure . I understand that insurance can be difficult and my family is now covered by one that unfortunately may not be the greatest ( not my choice, employers) but to be in this situation and to be told a doctor will not see you until you pay is unfathomable , I can tell you it is all of Westchester Health offices that are run this way as even my 2 and half year old was refused service do to an outstanding bill as well and my wife and I brushed it off and paid it and got reimbursed by the insurance company . So we will pay the debt owed to Westchester Health because that's what upstanding citizens do and we will look for a health care provider that actually cares about the patient rather than the profit .

It took staff there 3 hours to administer the steroid and a few weeks later I received my bill from WMC Health. $12 for "pharmacy" aka the steroid I asked for and $4,865 for "emergency room". This is just the first half of what this place will try to charge me I'm sure because the doctors bill still hasn't landed. Not only was the service and medical care horrible but the rates they charge should be criminal. I intend to fight the bill but I'm not holding my breath. I refused to believe he didn't have a fever and I insisted that they recheck with an internal thermometer. After checking it read 100.3. We are in a tiny confined area with no privacy. I wish someone would develop another trauma center because the medical care here is terrible. I pray that the terrible people are all replaced and they receive divine retribution for their lack of compassion. I want to highlight two particular people- nurse Margaret and Glenn from the second Medical ICU. They're exceptionally rude individuals, who makes me wonder why they would ever become a nurses. Because they have such poor bedside manners. My mother in law is passing away and these two nurses on the second floor won't let the family be with her. We just want to sit beside our mom, and these two nasty nurses are big on having a power trip on removing people who just want to stay by their mother's bedside when she's unresponsive. The audacity of these people. They said that my mother-in-law is not "actively dying", meaning they didn't pull the plug, so they' fought us on staying with her! She was told that they didn't take her insurance and that it would be out of network. She agreed to pay the difference. Then strangely , she was told that despite her offer to pay directly the $500 consultation fee, Dr Carosella would not take her on as a patient as she probably would not be able to continue paying out of pocket for continuity of care. My friend assured her that she could afford this, but she was turned down nevertheless. She did not speak directly with the physician, so it is not clear if her staff took it upon themselves to deny her as a patient. But This does not reflect well on the practice and on Dr. Carosella.
