The guides/employees were very thorough in making sure you practiced different maneuvers & safety before going out of the building. I took the new adventure tour which is a 4 hour tour that starts at their facility in Station Square, goes to the Heinz History Museum (30 minute stop), then onto the Aviary (another 30 minute stop) and then a stop for Ice Balls (5 minutes) and then at the Point (30 minutes between lunch and photos at the point) before heading back. You have to arrive 30 minutes in advance and you do get to zip around their little indoor test track so consider that bonus time on the segway. I went on an Amazon Local half price deal (for $50) which made this a five star deal, despite having to pay $5 for taxes at checkin. If this was full price, I would rank it 4 star. They could make it better by: 1) Increasing the amount of time at Heinz History Museum 2) Leaving the Aviary stop the same (I personally think its too long, but some people may like that place more than me) 3) Choosing a nicer place to break for a longer lunch, maybe in a different order So basically increasing the length of the tour a bit so you end up in Station Square a little bit later. It starts at 9:30 and finishes at 2, I think if they started at 10:30 and ended at 4pm it would be better. They do bill this adventure tour NOT as a sightseeing tour as they don't really tell you about the sights, you just zip around. And for that it's a good tour, you do get a lot of quality time on the segway. I also enjoyed it enough that even as a local I'd like to come back and do their nighttime tour to see the sights at night on the tour. In addition, Sarawesome (her self given title :)) is a good tour guide and emailed some tips and the itinerary prior to the tour. Overall I'd recommend it -- especially if you can get it at a discount or they tweak the itinerary some. And for Arrested Development fans, yes, you may feel a little like Gob but it's still a lot of fine and very easy to ride the new Segway I2s that Segway in Paradise uses. Finally, it is a LOT of standing for most of the four hours, so while its not that grueling you will probably be a little bit tired at the end of the tour. read more

Scary but wait for it.. legendary!! If you are taking this definitely try to take the north side tour! So that you start in station square, go through downtown and all the way to north side. Get a good view of the 3 rivers and roller coaster rides on the bridges in the city of bridges! A must do for everyone! Don't worry if you have never ridden a seaway. They take care of beginners too. It will be a bit scary especially in the bridges but if you follow their instructions it's a piece of cake. And they do take care of your safety read more

Great tour. We really appreciated the guide. Segways are not accessible for everyone so please do not come if you are not prepared. Our group was with a lady who could not operate (or really didn't try) so she justly was reimbursed and left the group. She threatened the guide with a 1 star review when he said she could not do the tour (he did tell her she would be fully reimbursed). Our guide was extremely well trained and caring for our group. We covered a lot of territory quickly and it would have been terrible if everyone wasn't comfortable managing the Segway. Anthony, our tour guide, did a great job with our group of 5. We really enjoyed the downtown tour. The first 30-45 minutes is training on the Segway. She was knowledgeable, calm and very safety conscious. Not easy when weaving through traffic and dodging extend pedestrian obstacles. Terrible, confrontational, disheartening, belittling experience. The Tour only lasted 10 minutes maximum because we left before the tour was complete. My wife and I wanted to take our two sons on the Segway tour of Pittsburgh. The guide who claimed to have 13 years of experience, began treating other beginner level customers harshly and had a couple flustered before even leaving. My two sons are experienced Segway riders, however my wife does not have a lot of confidence, but has been on 3 Segway tours in the past. After we started the guide proceeded to yell at her for any mistake she made which made her flustered even more. Another person crashed shortly after starting the tour. After waiting a couple of minutes we started off again and the guide continued to yell at my wife for not going fast enough on the tour. My wife finally said that she had enough and she was done. He said, "okay, you have a phone" and told her to park her Segway on the street. I told him he can't treat his customers this way and did not appreciate how he treated my wife. My family left the tour. The guide immaturely would not give us his name. If you are not an experienced Segway rider, do not spend your money at Segway Pittsburgh. read more

This way a blast! My wife and I did the two hour tour on 7/13/13 at 8pm as a part of our weekend getaway. Dan and Sarah did a great job with the tour. The only downside to the tour is my feet started to hurt after a little while. Just keep moving your feet and picking them up a little as your navigate around the city streets. Sarah did a great job blocking traffic but be sure you also keep a look out for those crazy Pittsburgh drivers. I hope to do the four hour tour the next time we visit Pittsburgh. Be sure to show up 30 mins before you schedule tour start time. This is to sign the release forms and get familiar with Segway before you actually start the tour. Great way to tour downtown Pittsburgh, although wouldn't you know that the one day we had booked had the hottest day of the year, in the 90s! Just our luck, but nothing anyone could do on that one. All in all, a great way to stroll about and see a good bit of the North Shore area, a park by the river and even some of the financial district. Only real dings on the tour were headset malfunctions and maybe not enough stops for picture taking, but Alan and Jesse were top notch and kept us safe crossing the streets, even when one car was about to run over poor Alan. What an awesome time! Although it seems a little funny to take a tour of Pittsburgh when you are from around here, it was a fun and different way to see the city. We started out in Station Square. You can find the check-in desk in the mall by the soap shop and mini food court. It is kind of tucked in behind everything. The instructors make sure you are well prepared and pretty proficient in your skills before hitting the streets. We took the 90 minute tour of town, which took us over the bridge, through PPG, Market Square and down to the Point. We even stopped to take a picture by the fountain. After our photo op at the Point, we stopped to get ice cream, which I thought was a great addition to the trip. If you are new to town, or in for a weekend, come give the city a spin with a Segway tour! read more

My boyfriend and myself both have disabilities and have been on other Segway excursions in other cities with out any issues, and had great time. We booked a tour for this morning 6/19/2021. RP from was very off putting and unfriendly not only was he not willing to work with us as we were differently abled. But he humiliated us in front of the rest of the group never in my 32 years have I ever felt this humiliated in my life. I wasn't on the Segway but 30 secs and I get kicked off. A better business bureau complaint has been filed and so is a complaint with the ADA because telling us we are a liability is wrong we take a lot of criticism daily but his ego and unprofessionalism is out of control he needs to be fired immediately and or if he is the owner he needs to be shut down read more

The tour itself was a blast and Pittsburgh is a real gem. The guide, i forget his name, for me and the two other people on the tour was very personable and helpful with the pre-tour prep and practice on the segways. My biggest issue is that i remember reading that for the tour we'd be given earpieces so we could hear information about the city from the guide as we zipped around. That didnt happen at all. We just zipped around the Golden Triangle area of town: Station Square, The Point, Market Square and PPG with a break at Dream Cream halfway through, with no information on the city from the guide. Hence why I've given a the 4 star rating. It was very fun, but for a tourist in the city briefly, i'm not sure i'd reccomend this unless the audio accompaniment was a 100% guarantee. read more

Staff was very welcoming and friendly. They start you off in a closed course so you don't hit anyone and are comfortable on the Segway. I did he sunset tour which was awesome. They take a picture of you at the fountain which is a nice add on. I recommend the sunset tour for sure if you are having trouble picking one. read more

A great way to see the city! We lucked out and ended up with a private tour with Jesse. Jesse was a patient instructor and very thorough in explaining how to use the Segways. Even though none of us had ridden before, Jesse had us up and running in no time. Jesse then took us for our tour of the beautiful city, highlighting historical and fun facts along the way. Jesse was kind and friendly with us as well as those that we passed on the streets. We recommend the 2-hour tour and will likely be back for more when we visit again with friends and family. read more

I normally never even write reviews, but please do yourselves a favor and DO NOT use Pittsburgh Segway tours in station square. The guide is the biggest jerk I've ever met in my entire life who doesn't know a thing about customer service. My mom, boyfriend and I showed up for a Segway tour 5 minutes late due to traffic. We walked up to where the other people were at for the tour and the guide not only never acknowledged our existence standing there, (we had to ask other members of the tour what to do so we went ahead and filled our own waivers out and got our own helmets) but when he actually finally acknowledged us, he stared at us like we had 5 heads, yelled at us for getting the helmets ourselves/already signing the waiver on our own, and was INCREDIBLY rude to myself and my mom when we were trying to just talk to him. (Raising his voice, using a seriously rude tone and choice of words) he told us we weren't "allowed" to go on the tour since everyone else was already on the segways and basically started leaving without us. My mom wanted a complete refund. We never actually got to even go on a Segway. So, he had the audacity to tell us to wait until he got back, so we waited 2 complete hours until he got back from the tour we were supposed to be on. So we came back afterwards, my mom went up to him to talk and ask for a refund and he not only did NOT give her a refund but SLAMMED THE DOOR IN HER FACE, walked away completely ignoring her, and wouldn't even turn around to attempt to fix the situation. This is utterly ridiculous and I advise everyone to avoid this disgrace of a "business" that completely disrespected my mother in front of people read more

This was one of the highlights of my Pittsburgh trip. I had a great time and felt fully prepared to ride it after very basic instructions. I highly recommend it as a day one experience in order to figure out what you want to see more of. You mainly go by a bunch of small things so it sets you up perfectly to check them off your list so you can spend time hitting the bigger attractions. I believe Morgen was our tour guide and she was great. Only thing that could make it better is a longer rental window but I assume that is not practical and probably creates a liability issue. read more

What an absolutely great time!! We took the Pittsburgh city tour. First off, be sure you arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time as this gives you time to make sure helmets fit properly, transmitters are working and attached properly and to have ample time to practice the obstacle course before going out on the road. Our guide was Jesse, while he was not the overly dramatic type of tour guide (which I appreciate, because they can be annoying) he was informative and knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. We took a break at PNC park to relax and stretch our heels and legs approximately 1/2 way through the tour. The Segway itself is very user friendly, at first you're a little tense and tend to put more pressure on your heels than necessary. But after about a half hour the Segway becomes part of your legs in a natural way. Honestly, I would have had a great time just being on the Segway without any info about the city because it's such a great experience to take in the sights of the city. We are definitely going to go back to take in other Segway tours they offer. read more

When I had an issue with my Segway halfway thru the ride, concerned that it wasn't working as well as it should, Alan was short and unprofessional, telling me that it was because I wasn't good at riding a Segway.
