I come from a long line of steelworkers and thought I pretty much knew all there was to know. That was, until the tour. The tour guide was extremely informative. Most of the folks working (volunteering) at Carrie have some connection to the steel industry. In addition to the tour, I have had the privilege of attending events there as well. Yep, they rent out the space. Everything was well put together at the events and having the furances as backdrop took it to the next level. As far as the tours go, I feel so strongly that Pittsburgh natives and tourists alike take one. It's really incredible to learn how much of the country was built because of Carrie.

Parking is plentiful, the history is intriguing, and the art scattered about the property is thoughtful and engaging. If you're lucky, you'll spot some wildlife who inhabit the surrounding area.

I wanted to stay local and support the local business. I informed them I would prefer a private room and was told it was an extra $500, I said no problem and I would pay by bank check. About 1 1/2 months I notified the agency I still had not got the paperwork and was told they were a little behind and it will come in the mail. I went to their office in Homestead and no one was ever there and their mailbox was full. A month before I called and asked if I was still on the trip they assured me I was and will be getting the package. 11 days prior I called and said I still haven't got the package and I had a question about travel insurance, George told me he will bring it to my house if need be. 5 days before I called and said I have to get the check from the bank as the weekend was nearing. He told me call the office in 3 hours which I did and was told by George DeBolt for "whatever reason you are not on the trip. I said for whatever reason was your incompetence. Maybe if they ran the office with a competent staff and the owner not trying to to do it all to save money,( he is also the tour bus driver). Being Irish and a Steelers fan this was a huge disappointment, especially the closer it got. If you use this agency don't feel safe till you are actually on the plane. Very poorly run.

The driver, who I'd describe as uninterested and frumpy, would not take us any further than the hotel after the ceremony. He mentioned that his shift was over so he wasn't driving us any further. We even offered him additional money since we had time to kill. He dropped us off at the hotel over an hour early and didn't want to help us out in any way. The poor bride was so upset during her encounter. She was crying her eyes out, pleading with the man and the company but I guess they wanted to ruin her wedding day. This is a sad excuse for a limo service. If you'd like them to ruin your event, I'd suggest giving them a call.

The atmosphere was fresh and the air was crisp. The staff was pleasant and everyone who was within 3 feet engaged. There are two FBOs at AGC and every pilot I've talked to recommends going to Voyager for fantastic service. After my very brief flight there, I agree wholeheartedly! I can't wait to go back and bring my wife for a Pittsburgh weekend getaway. It looks a little beat up, because as the previous reviewer mentioned...it's housed in a double wide trailer, but the facilities are modern inside and they are doing some construction/expanding, so I have a feeling it will change quite a bit soon!

Two bathrooms with full showers and a couple of quite areas for the weary pilot or passenger are but a few of the nice touches here.
