This was an absolutely fantastic tour of Halifax and everything about it. Our guide Paul was so…read morepassionate and enthusiastic about Halifax and its history. Our tour lasted almost 7 hours and we were on a cruise ship and in Halifax for the day. He picked us right up at the port, had a sign with our names on it and there were 4 others with us in a nice van. A great small group of 6 people. We toured around the whole city, got to walk through the Public Gardens, stopped at the Citadel and saw the cannon fire at noon and the changing of the guard, learned so much about the explosion that killed many in Halifax and also learned things I did not know about the Titanic. We went to 2 different Titanic cemetaries and passed by even more. We stopped in a charming fishing village and had lunch at a local and delicious seafood restaurant. We could not have asked for a better day with a more enthusiastic host. He provided waters for us the entire day and also had a TV screen in the car to show us pictures and videos about all of the great stories he told us throughout the day. An absolutely fantastic tour that is a must do when visiting Halifax!

The guide, Andy Smith, takes you on a gentle amble through Halifax, highlighting points of history I never even knew! Not a big fan of walking Halifax's many hills? It's pretty much all downhill walking. Intentionally. The route is designed so that you're basically working your way from the Citadel (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/citadel-hill-halifax-2) to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic (http://www.yelp.ca/biz/maritime-museum-of-the-atlantic-halifax). I was visiting on a cruise ship for the day and wanted to get a good long ride in and the road bike they lent me was perfect. The bike had a little pannier on the back with a tire kit and lock and more than enough room for me to store my HUGE hoodie and ID. No issues at all with the gears or brakes and the bike was is great repair. I will definitely rent from them again if I find myself back in Halifax.

Well, after five summers, I finally went in. And... y'know, it's good. I know from observation that this isn't the busiest historical site in HRM. The staff members (high school students) were kind of excited to actually see someone. Even though my friend and I declined the guided tour, our greeter still enthusiastically relayed a ton of information. None of which I retained, of course. Still, for $2, it's a fascinating look into the history of Dartmouth. Who knew Dartmouth was once home to a major whaling industry? The building is also quite cool and most of it is open to the public. You won't spend hours here but it's a good way to spend 30 minutes or so during the summer and learn a little, too.

Our guide, Geordie, loves history and was a wealth of knowledge told in a very entertaining manner. The weather was a little brisk and blankets were provided. The boat is quite the picture of ingenuity - the benches were church pews in their previous life. They were incredibly helpful in assisting us getting on and off the boat as my husband has a mobility issue. Highly recommend this one hour tour.

Fun, Informative, and Totally Worth It!…read more The Halifax Harbour Hopper Tour was another highlight of our trip--and definitely worth the money. It's such a fun and unique way to explore the city! You start on land, taking in historic landmarks and beautiful views, then splash right into the harbour as the vehicle transforms into a boat. It's a cool experience whether you're a first-time visitor or a local looking to see the city from a new perspective. Our tour guide, Adina, was fantastic--full of energy, super knowledgeable, and made the whole ride engaging and fun. Big shoutout to Captain Geoff as well for the smooth and safe ride! We came here on a pre booked and pre paid for tour and the weather was horrible. Everyone had to…read morestay inside and there was not enough seats for everyone inside. It was so windy and rough that you could not hear anything they said nor could you see out of the glass due to the water splashing up on the boats windows. While I understand they have no control over the weather, I feel they should have canceled the trip and refunded our money and we could have found something else to do that we would have enjoyed.
