I spent two hours in this opticians today. I have perfect vision, but ended up in here on an…read moreelongated mission to help my friend choose some new glasses. It took so long! Firstly, we obviously went through all the comical and inappropriate glasses he could wear and that made him look ridiculous. You know how some glasses work for some people and on others people just make them look silly? Well, loads of those. And then once we'd finally chosen some that looked half-decent the whole myriad of options of lens thickness came into play. Seriously, if you've got bad eyes, need strong glasses but don't want them to be Dexter thick then you need to pay hundreds and hundreds of pounds to get thin lenses. Buying glasses is a seriously costly business. Bad times indeed. The assistants in D&A were very helpful if a bit out of touch with what would actually look good on my mate. The man we spoke to had great things to say about face size and proportion and lines and stuff which was great, but then totally undermined himself by suggesting some awful glasses that were totally inappropriate for my friend and made him look twenty years older than he was. And then he had to choose whether to get a free second pair, or get over a hundred quid off the price by moving his contacts prescription to D&A which would be more than he already paid at his other opticians but did he want the discount? At this point I reached the end of my tether boredom wise and went and got a cup of tea. Glasses equals mega stress!

The staff here were super friendly, from the fantastic optician Mohammed who even warranted a compliment from Boots when I picked up my new glasses, to the lovely women who took my details and run the floor. They did have a good selection of glasses, I only went to another optician after my eye test here for my glasses as they stocked the Dolce and Gabanna brand which they don't seem to stock here, plus they were running a better promotional offer to make it worthwhile. It was so easy getting an appointment, you can make them in-store or online, they did move my appointment earlier but this was better for me, they would have kept it at the same time but didn't want me to be rushed during the test and then looking at picking up new glasses. They did close early on one occasion, I did turn up five minutes before closure, after making them aware this was addressed. 4* - Great Opticians, solve problems well when they do occur. Having a better selection of glasses to compete with Boots, Vision Express and Specsavers should be a priority. It is a shame in the refurb they didn't improve technology such as with the eye testing machines instead of the heavy lense frames, similar to Vision Express.

They have…read morea fantastic selection of frames in all shapes and colours - exactly what I was looking for as I wanted to move away from the predictable options you get in the big high street chains. Kenji and Max looked after me and were both brilliant. They gave thoughtful advice, really listened to what I wanted, and helped me narrow down the choices (which isn't easy when there are so many great options!). The whole experience felt genuinely personal rather than transactional. I'm absolutely delighted with my new specs - and they were ready much quicker than I expected. Definitely recommend Framed and I'll be back when it's time for my next pair.

I attempted to buy another pair of smart glasses from them recently and they advised me to go direct to Ray-Ban as they would void the warranty if they fit my prescription. I took their advice and ray-ban needed my PD. Contacted them back for this information and they have refused to release my information. I understand them not wanting to lose business but they signposted me to begin with. When I challenged Sarah on the phone she said I was being rude and was hanging up on me. They have completely avoided me. Not responded to emails or calls. They have lost my custom and forced me to send a SAR. Stressful situation with no customer care whatsoever. I don't feel this unit is much larger than the other store, perhaps it is slightly smaller but the unit does look much better overall, the store is modern and feels nice inside. The selection of frames inside is OK, they appeal more to a budget rather than stocking a good selection of designer brands, if you are looking for designers you might want to go to Vision Express, Boots or Marks and Spencer within the mall. While I did end up getting my glasses from Boots and having an eye-test in Marks and Spencer, I did call here to take a look at the selection of glasses and the staff seemed friendly enough, I also liked how they were openly giving out hand gel to customers at the door, it wasn't the cheap stuff either, it was so foamy and nice (Can I go back in just to get some more?), then you take a tray and put a couple of pairs you tried on inside. 3* - An improvement on their old location as it does look/feel nicer though, the selection of eyewear can't be compared to other opticians around the city but with Specsavers being one of the largest optician brands in the UK, if you are looking for a Specsavers store, this is above average, but still falls short compared to the competition
