My glasses are spectacular. I've not seen a selection of glasses as good in this area of the country. I paid more than expected but that's now long forgotten and they are more than worth it anyway. At least as important as vanity the prescription is the best I've ever had and the consultation itself was informative - I actually have a good insight (excuse the pun) in to what's going on with my eyes. The only place I go for my glasses!! They are amazing, love these guys. They don't just sell your average eyewear brands- really cool designers and collaborative pieces so if you want a pair of really cool specs, go here. I dropped by because of reviews on Yelp, wasn't going to buy anything necessarily but came out with a really nice pair of Oliver Peoples/ Garrett Leight sunglasses. They were no means cheap but they fitted them just perfectly. Unfortunately I lost them in Austin Texas and didn't know whether I'd be able to get another pair. They ordered them back in and gave me a discount on the original price for me since I was basically buying them twice. I also ordered a pair of lenses for my old Ray Bans, they're so helpful and quick to respond to emails. Very chatty, know about your face shape and what suits, but don't do the hard sell. If you're looking for cheap then go to your average high street store but if you've saved a few bob it's a good investment. read more

Seen has a diverse range of glasses which is hard to come by in Manchester. They are some of the only stockists of Oliver Peoples, Cutler and Gross and Ørgreen that I have come across. The staff are super friendly and will give you 110% of their attention when you are in the shop. They will stand with you while you go through 100 different types of glasses and tactfully give you their opinion. The people at Seen really know what they're talking about, they don't give you the same old spiel about not wearing round glasses if you have a round face etc etc, they don't give you any cliches just help you to pick glasses you will love and look great. If you want a particular colour they don't have they will order it in for you (at a fee of about 15 pounds which is knocked off if you buy the glasses). I bought and had glazed a pair of glasses at Seen and the quality of lenses they use is second to none. It is like looking through the most crisp sheet of ice, and ok, they are not the cheapest lenses in the market but they are without doubt the best quality. read more

I can't say enough good things about the guys that work here, they are always helpful and friendly and have been known to spend hours making sure your glasses fit perfectly! They also once got me replacement lenses for my sunglasses when the prescription ones were not the same colour as the originals for no extra cost. Recently refurbished, this is quite possibly the coolest store in Manchester. The store itself is light, airy, and achingly cool You could almost be in Berlin. Tareq does a comprehensive eye examination, and they have the liveliest selection of frames- fresh eye popping colours, amazing shapes you would never imagine could suit you, yet actually look perfect (Theo, Kirk Originals, Claire Goldsmith) northern European style from Mykita, Ørgreen, Lindberg and laid-back californian style from Oliver People's and Garrett Leight. Really excellent place to buy glasses. Didn't get my eyes tested here so can't vouch for that side of the business, but as a glasses shop I would say it's outstanding. All the staff I dealt with were extremely friendly, helpful and patient whilst I tried on half the shop, giving really good advice as to what styles suited my face and pointing me in the direction of similar frames. I had their attention for the whole time I was in the shop and they really wanted to make sure I was happy with the frames I bought rather than just make a quick sale. The selection of glasses which are cool and different to the average frames is unparalleled: lots of different styles which are hard to come by in highstreet opticians. When I collected my glasses they made sure the glasses were adjusted, fit properly and that I was happy with them before I left. The attention to detail was impressive and again I had the full attention of one member of staff even though there were other people in the shop. The glasses are expensive but if you're looking for something different and are willing to spend the money then it's the perfect place and the service you get more than matches the price tag on the glasses. Seen is a truly unique and wonderful optician. The proprietor and team have done an amazing job of making Seen a really special and individualised experience. The selection of frames is outstanding. On the face of it they may seem simply "high design" or outlandish but what Seen provides is much more subtle and important than that. It's much more like bespoke tailoring for your face. The team will go through frames with you only by appointment. After years of high street opticians this can seem a little bit unnecessary but actually it's very useful and instructive as the knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff work with you, your style, your face shape and your desires to find you a set of frames that feels unique, special and personal. The actual eye test is also a great experience, boss man is a great guy to chat to, and very well informed and up to date in his field. Aftercare has been excellent so far, the team have been friendly and flexible. Walking back into a normal high street opticians I was reminded how samey and middle-ground everything they sell is. It makes sense for them; they are going for volume, so they stack the shelves high with middle-of-the-road average looking frames. But it's very sad for the consumer. Glasses-wearers should have access to lots of truly special and interesting frames to match and suit the special and interesting people that we all are. Seen provides that. read more
