sept 2010 i had an eye test waited 3 wks for my glasses when i got them the prescription was wrong went back the had misplaced my records saw a second optician waited 2 weeks got my glasses again the prescription was wrong they lost my original frames too saw 3rd optician got my classes she found i had the start of cateracts the prievious two opticions missed ,waited a further 2 weeks for the glasses i complained about the service and after a lot of arguing i got them for half price which i thought should have been free as the mistakes were all theirs. 6 months later i went back again for an eye test as my eyes had changed they charged me £128.50 for new varifocal lenses to put in to my old frames i went home looked on the internet and ordered glasses with frames from the net frames were fcuk and with thinner lens than specasavers offered me totoal cost from the internet £72.50 including postage i received them on fri lunch post after ordering them mon lunch 5 days previous glsses are great and good quality more than pleased i cancelled my glasses order from s/savers on the same day i ordered them whern i went back to the shop for a refund the time thay gave me i was told the only person able to give refunds was on her break for the next 20 mins i arranged to go back 1 week later i was kept waiting 15 mins as they had yet again missplaced my records after much arguing with them i finaly got my refund i will never use them again but i will let you make up your own mind all my future glasses wiill be ordered from glasses uk off the internet ( half the price half the time with no problems and good quality frames and lenses ) read more

Went in on Monday to have my contact lens tutorial, I arrived at 0925 as my appointment was at 0930. At 1000 I walked out after watching some bloke who had been in since 9am continually drop his lenses, not manage to successfully put them in once on his own in the 35 minutes I was in there. At 0955 I said to the assistant that it was clear that contacts were not for this fellow and maybe he should stick to glasses, I was told that he was entitled to keep on trying until he got them in, I pointed out I was now nearly half an hour late for my appointment and I had as much right as he had to be seen and on time, the shop assistant gave me a dirty look so I walked out, I will never cross their shop doorway again and I am writing a letter of complaint to the manager. called in sunday 21st june to have a slight adjustment made to my glasses{a screw tightened]on my right ear piece. The assistant came back after 5 mins claiming my nose piece just pinged off.I asked what were they going to do about it and she said because they were old there was nothing they could do.I was appauled at the lack of customer care and no remorse. Staff here clearly are very un professional and lack basic customer care and knowledge of basic statutary rights. I had to make my own way to the wigan branch who are a 1000% above leigh in class, experience ,customer care . they sorted out my glasses for me gave me a far superior eye test, and I purchased a new pair form them Never will I go to leigh specsavers again. read more
