I am surprised myself how I could be so impressed with the eyebrow treatment I received here. I didn't realize how big of a difference it would make having someone who was truly experienced and good at this craft be. I had tried out two other threading places since I discovered this way of taming the brows, but never did I leave as happy as I did here. On Yelp it says they close at 7:00 PM, so I started driving here at 6:05 PM. It was then that my google maps told me this location would be closing soon at 6:30 PM (the real closing time)! I got there at 6:15, but she was kind enough to still do my brows for me. I am being absolutely serious when I tell you I was in and out of there in 6 minutes. One minute of that goes towards asking about the hours and payment, btw. She said brows are now $10, but I used the yelp check in and it was $8. It was fairly painless. I have sensitive eyes, so usually I tear up a lot at my other threading sessions. However, my eyes only got watery here and didn't even make it out the corner. I also noticed that the area around my brows were not swollen and red, which is what happened at the other places! She also trimmed the longer wild hairs. It's been about 2 weeks since I went there, but every time I look in the mirror, I'm still amazed how good they look. Take away, She only took 6 minutes to give me a painless and cleaned up set of brows. I've been to other places that took 15-20 minutes, made me swollen from the pain, and sometimes uneven! Located in the same shopping plaza as Seafood City in the city of Cerritos with plenty of free parking, Seem-Ren Threading Salon, is the place to go for hair removal via Indian threading. Seema is an excellent threading specialist! I have been going to her for many years and have always been satisfied & pleased with her work. I usually come as a walk-in and get my full face & neck as well as the hair on my fingers (yup, there's hair on those knuckles, no need to be embarrassed) and I tip her 20% for such great service. She is gentle yet efficient, and also uses witch hazel at the end of the treatment to soothe the skin and prevent bumps & rashes or skin irritations from occurring. I love the ease and almost massage like feeling of the threading process, almost feels relaxing as if in a spa. If you are a frequent threading customer like myself then you know what I am talking about when it comes to the pain not being so painful because "pain is beauty and beauty is pain." My growing out pixie was becoming unmanageable. My regular stylist was booked solid Saturday and is closed Sunday. I could not go into the work week looking a mess. I search all through nearby yelp places and they were either closed or fully booked for half day. Around 3pm, I found Sophia on yelp and read the reviews. Figured I call and give it a try. No answer on the first number, then I remembered some one saying she moved and had different digits. I called that alternate number, rang and went to voicemail (figured she was closed). Within five minutes, she called me back. I told her I was calling to see if she was open for a hair cut. She said she is closed. She re-asked me what service I was looking for. I said hair cut for sure and potential wave perm. She said she was only five minutes away and I told her I could be there in ten. Awesome, she is working on my hair even on her off day. Kudos! I get to her location which is in this threading salon. She is a Korean lady. Welcomed me with a smile. She told me the wave perm would be $70. I agreed and she got to it. She put my hair up in rollers, even my very short hair in back. I was quite impressed. She definitely takes her work seriously and makes sure it is to her expectation. Pros: 1) she accommodated me on an off day 2) meticulous about her work and provides realistic expectations 3) friendly 4) she taught me how to preserve and style my new perm Cons: 1) I think she re-uses her processing disposable shower cap (I saw her wash it and hang it up to dry). 2) the dry towels do not smell like clean laundry. Kind of smelled stale and un-fresh. 3) a few things fell to the ground and she just picked it up and re-used it. * the thought of head lice did cross my mind. Location: the threading salon is a bit run down looking. Payment options: the threading salon takes credit and cash. She ONLY TAKES CASH. Luckily, I had some money on me but not a convenient option. The perm turned out nice. She also accompanied it with a trim so my head would not be so heavy due to my thick hair (thoughtful). She definitely has the skill and talent. I am just not fond of the location. The cash payment is also a deterrent. I am not sure if I will return in the future. read more

However, the past two times I went in have been horrible. The lady I had was rushing and was being a little too harsh. The last time I went in the place was empty but she still rushed! I always tell the threaders not to make my eyebrows too thin. I had this young lady today (in her 20s?) instead of the older lady because she was busy with another customer. That young lady said, "Okay, I'll just clean it up." So threading is painful for me. When it's over, I expect to have great looking eyebrows. This young Indian chick not only made my eyebrows REALLY thin, but they were UNEVEN in width! OMG, one eyebrow is bigger than the other!!! That has never happened to me before! I was so mad I was going to walk out of there without paying. NEVER AGAIN! DONT COME HERE!!! Vinitha's is still the best place I've gone to (across the mall). Shoot, I'll even pay the $20 next door at Ulta's Benefit Brow Shape Bar if that means I'll get GOOD eyebrows at the end. Not to mention that dumb girl gave me huge skin scabs! If you want your business to work, I suggest the owner of this place fires that girl. This is probably THE WORST INDIAN THREADING SALON in the Cerritos/Artesia area (yes, I've been to many). read more

Walked-in after seeing the Yelp advertisement. Walk-in was very easy, Seema was there and she took a mental note who was first and so forth. I love threading, much nicer and cleaner than waxing or plucking. My friend had never tried it so I told her that since we had the time, she should try it. She loved it. It isn't painful and Seema did such a great job. She was fast and professional. Prices are very reasonable. I wish that I lived here just to have her thread my eyebrows every 4-5 weeks! If you're in the area, ask for Seema, or call ahead for walk-in time frame or if she takes appointments. I am not sure about appointments as I am not from the area. You walk in and see all of the people waiting in line to get threaded, and you think, "Yup. This must be the best." Well, I have nothing against Ziba, but Seem-Ren won me over the first time I went. Sure, it's pretty small and not very fancy, but the ladies are great at what they do, and they only charge $6.99 for eyebrow threading! (As opposed to the $9 - has it gone up? - that Ziba charges.) Out and about on a Sunday afternoon and I saw this place so I checked it out. Needing just a clean up on the brows I was sold with the price of $6.99. The lady worked fast even though there was only one other person in there and no other customers waiting. She did the job, I was happy with the results but you do get what you pay for when it is a bargain. $6.99 was a deal but there was no extra temple massage or aloe vera application. When astringent was applied she just used the same tissue that she handed me at the beginning of our process. I was on my way and sort of felt rushed for no reason but that might come in handy one day when I am in a real hurry and in the area. read more
