The prices are very reasonable given the quality, but don't expect to get the kind of rock-bottom prices you might get in an Asian grocery store, for instance (where the quality won't be as good). You have several options here: you can get fresh fish or seafood and take it home and cook it yourself, or you can buy already cooked items (prawns, smoked salmon, moreton bay bugs), or you can get fish and chips with a variety of fish options (there's always a daily special for $11-$13 incl chips), or you can eat in the restaurant upstairs and enjoy the view, or you can even get food from the shop and then bring it to the restaurant to eat at no additional charge. We were in town for a few days so we tried them all. All the fresh stuff is of excellent quality, but beware that the cooked seafood was likely cooked in seawater and might be a little salty for some people's taste. The daily fish from the fish and chips will likely be delicious. The chips weren't my favorite, but still pretty good. The restaurant food is tops: I had grilled calimari, and it was terrific. I tried the fried calamari entree with some barra for my main, and while there was nothing wrong with the food neither dish rated above 'average'. This is disappointing considering how costly the food is here. For less than half of what I paid at Bridge Seafoods I could have gotten the same food at Fish @ Chancellor and it would have been twice as good. One thing I noticed, however, was that most of the locals were only ordering the fresh prawns. So maybe that's the real draw here. Possibly I'll make another visit to find out at some point.
