I want to begin this review by establishing necessary context: I am an educated, highly capable professional. At age 15, I tested out to go straight to the Officer Training Academy at Annapolis without prep to become an Officer in the U.S. Navy. I graduated from what was one of the most prestigious animation art institutes in the country with a degree in Digital Graphic Design, Digital Prepress, and Advertising. I successfully fought three levels of government for over a decade on behalf of children's rights with the support of Justice for Children International and won. I have successfully run my own storefront business alongside two others simultaneously in a busy nearby tourist town. Furthermore, I have been a featured artist in major regional art and music festivals, had my work showcased in the G.P.E.C. Virtual Gallery, and was named Employee of the Month as a top sales associate at my last job--a position the Sedona Crystal Vortex (SCV) "Director" explicitly told me to quit so I could work for them.Before I was even hired, both a current and a former employee of Sedona Crystal Vortex warned me about major management issues affecting all of their store locations. One person described the environment as a "prison" where employees operate under constant paranoia that coworkers are trying to take their jobs. They specifically warned me that the Director acts like your best friend as an act, but secretly enjoys hurting people. Another employee explicitly advised me, "If you just go there to do your job, keep your head down, and don't talk to anyone, you might be alright for a while." Another coworker confided that they felt they had to "sell their soul" and actually hated the job.I suspect the Director actually saw my original application for the Store Manager position but pretended she didn't so she could get away with hiring me as a Sales Associate instead. I was vastly more qualified than the person they put into the assist mgmt role *right after* me, I didn't mind the position because I am deeply passionate about stones and crystals. However, the onboarding process was a massive red flag. The Director wanted me to start on June 1st, 2026, and promised an offer letter pending references. My references were excellent, and she confirmed we were "good," but the letter never arrived. Four days before my start date, she left a voicemail claiming she hadn't received my signed letter, assuming it was a "mix-up." When I contacted her, she panicked--the email was still sitting in her sent box, unsent. Out of a desire for a better job, I ignored this warning sign. Communication remained chaotic and disorganized from that point forward. She repeatedly changed my start date at the last minute, ultimately pushing it back to June 15th to line me up with two other new hires.In total, I was there for exactly two weeks and two days. To this haphazard Director, that somehow equated to: "You have been here three weeks" (a conversation I recorded, should anyone ever need to hear it). As a psychic, I could feel something shifting in the "ether," even though logically I was doing my job exceptionally well. SCV carries hundreds of rare stones most people have never seen. When an employee criticized me after just one week for not having them memorized, I pointed out that I had only mixed up two stones that day--one because I listened to a customer instead of checking the bin--and noted that another seasoned employee had messed some up the previous day. That employee openly admitted, "Yeah, we all duck them up sometimes, I'm just trying to help you learn faster." Even the Director herself stated it was not expected to know all 300+ types of crystals in a two-week period. Yet, failing to memorize them all instantly became the only metric they could invent to claim I was "not a fit."They refused to give me any real reason for my termination, instead snidely suggesting there was something wrong with my style, my class, or my way of working with customers. I assure you, with full confidence and zero self-doubt, that my presentation was flawless. I was raised upper-middle-class and come from ancestral lines defined by grace and class; you simply cannot outclass me, and I read rooms adequately. The true double standards regarding their "Personal Presentation Standards" were glaring. When hired, I texted the Director to ask if shorts were allowed. She ignored the text, so I erred on the side of caution. A week into the job, she called me into her office to reprimand me for my style, claiming it showed customers I "didn't care about them." I was wearing an entirely modest, professional outfit: undistressed denim capris (she had explicitly told me jeans and a blouse were fine) and a mock-turtle neck blouse with a neck tie. She falsely claimed I was wearing shorts, and then told me to be mindful of "cleavage" in a family environment. Absurd. Director said to put tips in the register as they belong to the company. A bit of a tourist trap, but It's always fun to visit a crystal or a rock store. But one can only take so much "crystal healing" before one gets a headache. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I am a geode lover I'll just come right out and say it... this place gave me all the good chills... walking around this crystal shop, loving the way that it was completely laid out. Everything was explained all the geodes. All the crystals were named and labeled with their prices. I love that. I was able to find a few pieces that I don't have that I absolutely adore ... In addition to a gorgeous amethyst ring . We are locals, moved here over five years ago. When we want high quality at a good price we go to Sedona Crystal Vortex. We recently shopped for our granddaughters and found some great gifts. The staff and service is great. They really have a lot of knowledge of the stones and history. I would recommend them. read more

I've been to all their locations and I always find really pretty reasonably priced high quality rings there. They also have lots of back stock of rings if you can't find your size on the floor. I'm not sure who produces these rings as I didn't ask, so I'm not sure if they are locally sourced, which may be important to some people. I'll have to ask the next time I'm in there. Some crystals shops actually give me anxiety because I'm very sensitive to a lot of strong frequencies coming from the crystals. I've never experienced that in their shops. So that's a plus. read more

The woman I was inquiring about this with insured me the woman on sight and available was all this and some!!! I asked why I had to give my name and birthday? What a joke!! I paid $99 for 40 minutes and was walking out after 20 minutes which they refunded me the $99 and recharged me $59 once I outed the reader. Not my first rodeo!! DO NOT BUY THIER PRODUCTS, NOT AUTHENTIC! Unfortunately I must give this business a bad rating. I bought a ring on a Sunday and then the next day the ring broke! I emailed and then discussed with a manager about my possible solutions, the manager said I could get the ring fixed and come in to get a refund. When I arrived at the store, they would only give me a refund if I gave the ring back. So I then asked if I could exchange the ring and get another ring. They wouldn't process my return because I did not have a receipt. There is no clear return policy anywhere in their store. I paid well over $100 for this ring. read more

Stopped in yesterday evening to pick up some new crystals while in town. When we were checking out the lady working (Ursa, she was wearing a hat with long dark hair and a corset on over her dress) was laying out the crystals with their description cards. One of the stone I grabbed was from a dish labeled Aquamarine and she put a different card with it, I mentioned to her that I thought it was an aquamarine and the lady was immediately rude. She looked at me as if I was an idiot and said very loudly "no it's not". I proceeded to tell her the dish I grabbed it from said it was and she kept saying " you're wrong" "no it's not" very rudely. so I politely said I can show you were I grabbed it from. She walks over with me and I showed her. I was correct and she continued to tell me that it wasn't where I grabbed the stone from. I eventually told her the way she was speaking to me was very off putting and that I would simply go somewhere else to buy stones. She rolled her eyes and tried to backtrack how she had been speaking to me. It was absolutely ridiculous how demeaning and rude she was speaking to me as a customer. I'm only giving it 2 stars because I bought a crystal I had my eyes on since I walked in otherwise I would give it 0 stars. Me and my bf walked in and were not acknowledged by the staff or asked if we wanted a basket, which to me is basic customer service. I also felt all eyes on me while I looked around for crystals. One of the employees was standing near me to the point I felt bad vibes. As more people would come in the staff would recognize them and greet them, 20 mins later and still no one greeted us until my bf noticed and told me. I give out quite a few 4-star ratings that are well deserved but I rarely give a 5-star rating because I reserve it for places that are truly elevated and worthy of the 5-star excellence. Sedona Crystal Vortex is my favorite shop for crystals. The shop itself is a fair size (not huge) but what draws me here is the variety of crystals that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. And while you can find jewelry at many of the crystal shops - I find it difficult to locate products for carrying/wearing the loose crystals. Sedona Crystal Vortex provides some nice options for wearing the loose stones. The staff is very knowledgeable and very helpful. We travel full time and I have visited quite a few crystal shops but this is truly one of my favorites! read more

Late September 2019 So, while visiting Sedona, I had to get my woo woo crystal fix! I frequent a very good store at home, so I was worried that the downtown Sedona shops would be touristy joints selling spray-painted pieces of gravel. Nope. SCV was a great find! The store is well-laid out, with a large variety of stones for all tastes, needs, and budgets. They had the usual suspects (hello rose quartz etc), along with many crystals I had never seen before...beautiful! The store staff is a perfect mix of available and laid-back. I just visited this shop yesterday and wanted to purchase some crystals and jewelry but after witnessing how they were behaving I didn't want to give them my business. I felt the sales associates were rude and also racially discriminating. I was surprised because I regularly frequent shops there in Sedona and most of the shop owners/ associates are so friendly and helpful. This is the only store I have ever visited while where I observed such rude and racist behavior. Both associates were not friendly or asked if I needed assistance. One associate was at the counter the whole time and not once was cordial or welcoming (even while I was at the counter looking at merchandise). One associate in particular (she's the very heavy set one) was extremely rude towards my son ( he's 28), she literally barreled through and pushed him aside to show some stones to a Caucasian woman ( she was friendly and nice towards her) not once did she say "pardon me or excuse me" . She just pushed her weight around and basically he moved out of respect to her being a woman . My other son was also eagle eyed the whole time he was in the shop and was even glared at by the associate behind the counter, although she did make sure to count the merchandise after he moved , to ensure he didn't steal anything (I'm assuming). Again, very shocked by their behavior and will never visit again. Rude and racist . I hope that both of these people learn to treat everyone equally and not racially profile. Disgusting. read more

Chakra strength readings are totally random; I'm pretty in touch with my stronger chakras (including feeling a handful of them open in yoga classes) & the reading got none of them correct. As to aura size, let me simplify it: warm day = bigger aura, cold day / cold hands = smaller aura. I paid basically $35 for garbage. Sedona Crystal Vortex located right in the heart of Uptown provided a very nice outdoor seating area in the shade with a water feature and perfect view to people watch and admire the red rock off in the distance. Once I caught my breathe I stepped into a neatly organized store packed with rows and rows of cool stuff. Every bowl filled with stones and crystals also had an explanation card which I appreciated. Lots of rock and crystals to choose from. You can get a reading here too. I got a good feel of what Sedona was about when I left and began my Sedona adventure. Ah yes, a tourist trap with all the trimmings. But I will say, it's not the worst thing in the world. I got a few lovely stone rings for a pretty penny. I do love the way they put the cards up for each stone with the meaning and spiritualism of each. That's definitely a nice touch! They have a great variety of stones but most everything is sterling silver - not so much gold here. And I prefer gold jewelry. As for the psychic reading - I paid $40 for 20 minutes which is a definite splurge but when in Rome I guess...as they say this place is a spiritual vortex so I had to do it. Plus, I am kinda into all that new age stuff. It's fun! My psychic used the tarot deck to read my current status and answered my specific question. She was very intuitive and I thought everything she said was right on the money. As for readings, they aren't to tell you the future but to guide you in your journey.
