Even though there were multiple training centers closer to where I live in the Naperville area, I am 100% certain that this was the best choice. Nick is a wonderful instructor; I learned a lot from his teaching, especially the real-world and tactical side of things. Their classes are extremely informative, accurate, and held to high standards. You receive the highest quality content and up-to-date information for each course! Each class/test must be passed before moving to the next unit, and the final test covers every class and video! I enjoyed my experience here. The processing and instruction are A-1. I'm not surprised they've been in business so long. God bless them read more

Let me preface by saying before I stepped foot in the door ... I strongly disliked and feared guns. And quite frankly don't understand American culture's fascination and obsession with it. I had to come in however to take classes for professional reasons and I can't express enough how great of an instructor Nick Wolotowsky was as our class's weapons instructor. Funny, entertaining but truly informative and basically a Bad MFer. Visually like a cross between a Pro Wrestler and GI Joe character but an All American Bad Ass, he's the guy you want teaching you this stuff, 100%. Nick lives and breathes this stuff, his passion comes through in every lesson. He ultimately helped me ease myself into the process of adapting to handguns and by the end, feel much more comfortable handling these powerful and lethal tools both in safety and proficiency. Highly recommend courses with him and manager Nikki Waleski, who runs the business and is just super sweet, and assumably equally as bad ass as Nick. Go in and get your education started and become comfortable, no matter your intended skill level, like I did. read more

The instructor was not only teaching, he tried to involve real life events where our training would be used. He did not read of a book, and kept the class engaged. Would recommend getting certified here! read more

This was a very great class. I enrolled to obtain my CCL. I was very nervous at first but trainer Tom Manos was the PERFECT teacher. He is very smart, proficient and HIGHLY experienced. I could not have picked anyone better to teach me firearm safety. Crys and Nikki are also super upbeat and positive! Overall, I would recommend this class to everyone! read more

I recently took a firearms training class at this location and it was great the experience was phenomenal. The instructor was very knowledgeable and taught me a lot of things that I didn't learn in my concealed carry class that I took over two years ago at a different location. My instructor Thomas Manos was very much hands on with the class I definitely walked away feeling more confident about open carry and concealed carry. Nikki was very patient with all the paperwork and helping us fill out all the forms we needed to submit to the state. I definitely right this is one of the best classes I've ever taken. I really can't believe that this place doesn't have any reviews yet! They have been around for YEARS and are considered the epitome of security training here in Chicago and the surrounding areas. I'm on my second day of taking conceal and carry classes and I just had to express my overwhelming satisfaction with this long running company. My first experience with them was over 10 years ago and I was just as satisfied. Some companies, over the years and for various reasons, tend to "fall off" and the service they offer dwindles, NOT with these folks! They're extremely down to earth and treat you like family with the upmost respect! Adding a sense a humor as well makes this company the place to go! Oh yeah....on top of the above mentioned...did I forget to say they have THE BEST prices around? Wow!! I mean come on! Love these people, makes me wish I could work here as a part time second job. Supreme training, professional, good affordable prices. Done! It's no wonder why they have been around for so long. Thanks guys! read more

I definitely recommend coming here, yes it's Saturday and Sunday but the classes are very interesting.

Holy unprofessional! I"m writing my review in regards to their re-qualification for armed security training and I can't necessarily speak to their concealed carry class. I could never really get a hold of anyone and I always had to leave the voicemail, which would take anywhere from hours to days to get a reply. That was the standard for them and I'm not knocking them for that because I'm sure it's because they get busy. After all, the place is well known. The part I am going to knock them for, however, is that they seemed like I was inconveniencing them when I did talk to them. I needed to get re-qualified for all four guns and even told them I had my own equipment, but they insisted that I use their rifle and shotgun. On top of that, they did not know when they could get me to the range to re-qualify. I kind of got the feeling that they didn't really feel like working with me because I did not get my tan card through them. I could be wrong, but that's just the impression that I got. When they didn't know when I could re-qaul with them they said they would get back to me and then I didn't hear from them for weeks. The cherry on top was when they did finally return my call and they called me by a different name. I found another company to re-qual with and I couldn't be happier with the decision. It's a bit of a drive for those living in Chicago, but the Marksmanship Training Group was who these guys pushed me to and I was able to re-qual right away without any problems. Their website is here in case you're looking for an easier experience to get re-qualified on one or all four guns. www.marksmanshiptraining.net/ I do like that they are considered a credible training spot for security professionals here in Chicago and supposedly they help security professionals find a job, hence the two stars instead of one. I could be knit-picking, but in my opinion the consumer shouldn't be treated like an inconvenience. When your schedule and call backs are so messy it sends the wrong message. read more

For great, caring professionals and a way to learn about firearms in Chicago, I highly recommend Security Training Center. Sue, Nicki and Walt thoroughly trained my entire class over three days and knew EVERYONE'S name cold from day one. We were all addressed by name and given individual attention when needed. Of course, the main emphasis was to get safety ingrained when handling guns and using sound judgment to protect ourselves as well as others. The trainers make this place amazing (and being located in the city is a huge plus). I had never fired a gun in my life but I'm around them and just wanted to learn more about firearms. From day one, I considered quitting before the shooting range test. I didn't quit and I shot 30 rounds successfully and overcame an enormous fear that I had for being exposed to firearms. I still think firearms are to be treated with caution but I gained a tremendous satisfaction for completing a task I didn't think I could do. Now, I'm glad that I learned something about firearms and many aspects of handling, storage, legal consequences and the responsibilities for registered gun owners. I highly recommend this experience to anyone over 18! Thank you Security Training Center for doing your part to make the south side of Chicago safer and students well informed! read more

Security Training Center, Inc., is first and foremost in training for non-armed security and armed security. Sue, Walt and Nikki are very professional and accommodating to your questions and needs regarding certification. The class is operated like clockwork and Walt is a master at combining professional training and knowledge with wit, making the two day course pass by fast and smoothly. At the completion of the course, the student receives the certification along with a job referral listing. I highly recommend Security Training Center, Inc. read more

I wasn't too sure about where to enroll to take the Illinois Concealed carry class. Being that the law came up pretty quickly you didn't know who to trust when choosing a school to take the course. Luckily a friend recommended Security Training Center. The people here were very professional, straightforward, down to earth, and practical. The main things you needed to know were drilled into you constantly and that really came in handy when it came to the shooting part of the course. Brian was my instructor and he is a total no B.S. pro. Nikki was handling the front desk and the paperwork, but she is also a badass and I wouldn't mess with her! Overall a very good experience. Also, the price is about half of anywhere else I checked. I would recommend Security Training Center to anyone who is interested in concealed carry. read more
