Secret Cycling. What is this, the spinning Illuminati? I found this place on my commute down Okeechobee Road, a little bike icon on a warehouse building. Then fitness friends of mine talked about "Secret Cycling", and the "conspiracy" came together! Since I'm trying to get in shape for a certain milestone birthday - and by virtue of my work schedule and enjoying for good food find it hard to stick to clean eating - I need a high intensity workout. Secret Cycling provides it! The studio is located in the upstairs office area of a warehouse / self storage place. Decorated with motivational phrases on the wall, industrial metal joist roof and a nightclub-quality sound system, I started to sweat within the first 10 minutes of my class. The soundtrack - heavy on 80's freestyle - gets me through a grueling hour of seat jumps, 4+ gears and long drives on their LeMond spinning cycles. I've gone with two different instructors, and in their own style, both are awesome. Christy gives the class a funky, Hialeah girl happy energy, even throwing out a couple of "Dalee" and mixing in Salsa and Latin Funk. Bob (Saturday mornings) is heavier on the motivational quotes and a Yoda-like wisdom to the class (though in proper English). Classes are $5 per individual class. Awesome because you have the option of paying only for the classes you take instead of those long gym contracts where you subsidize chain gyms. However, there's also the option of paying for the month. The only reason I'm knocking off half a star is because I wish they had some later (even 7pm) classes. If you're serious about fitness, then you've come to the right place! Secret... although no longer a secret is a place of focus and inspiration. Bob (the Lance Armstrong of Secret) has done a wonderful job with this place. I can almost guarantee you've never had a spinning class like this one! The bikes they use are Lemond Revmasters - my favorite! First timers: 1. Visit their website and reserve a bike. 2. When you walk in there will be a counter to your right with a binder. Look for the page with a list of names for the class you are taking. Once you find your name, grab the numbers hanging below the counter that corresponds with the one next to your name and go upstairs. 3. Pick a bike and hang your number on the front of your bike. (Look around if you don't know what I'm talking about) 4. Arrive early and let the Instructor know that it's your first time. That way you can get measured and know exactly how to adjust your bike. 3. Bring $4 for the class. That includes a towel that you will find on your bike when you arrive. 4. If you didn't bring water, there's a fridge downstairs packed with refreshments. 5. Prepare to sweat! read more

LOVE AT FIRST SPIN! I could end my review there, but I won't. There is a lot to discuss about this place. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a smiling face, her name was Nati (sorry if I spelled that wrong), and she walked me through the entire sign in process. Which is super easy btw! There is a list with numbers, you put your name down and get a number tag. For example. If you're the 4th one there, you would print your name next to line 4 on the list, and grab the number tag with the big 4 on it. When you go upstairs, there will be a small clear box with envelopes. You write your name on the envelope and place your $5 (yes... $5 for a kick-@ss spinning class) in it, and drop the envelope in the clear box... THAT'S IT, ladies and gentleman. Remember the smiling face I told you about? She didn't even work there, she just spins there. I thought that was really nice of her! She then brought me upstairs and introduced me to the instructor (Alex), he set me up on the bike, and told me that if I needed to stop at any time to just do so. The class started at 7 on the dot! It was everything I was looking for in a spinning class. Great energy, great people, great music, and a good time! I'm proud to say that I did not stop the entire time. Hard, considering I have not done any type of exercise for 6 months. ::pats myself on the back:: I will be going back on Thursday and spinning with another instructor. Cant wait!! Ive been spinning here since Jan 2010. I love the people, and the atmosphere. This place is the "Cheers" of fitness. Instead of Norm, we got Dave :D The schedules are great, they offer a couple spinning classes a day. Free gym to use afterward, all for $4 with no membership. Forgot your water? No problem they have a vending machine that dispenses it for Fifty cent. The instructors are well trained and take feedback from anyone who offers it. The rides are challenging, the music upbeat. I often find myself lost in the ride and forget I am working out. I have spun at a few other places and I kid you not this place is the tops. Saying this place changed my life is not an exaggeration. The most positive group if instructors and patrons ever. No fuss with memberships or billing just $5 in an envelope and go burn 400 + (I have the heart rate monitor to prove it) Great music. Different profiles for a more complete workout... Great indoor cycling club, complete with gym. There's a wonderful community of people here, including dedicated instructors. Clean, professional, and well maintained facility and equipment. They hold regular team challenges, adding an element of competition to workouts. There are a variety of instructors and different biking profiles. See the web page for schedules, etc... They have classes every day at different times. My wife and I have been going here for years... Most people here are long-time regulars! read more

What a hidden gem !! I've been looking for a group class that's both affordable and motivating- and here it is!!! The instructer and many of the the class was very enthusiastic; the music was well picked and upbeat. I was killing myself on that bike but I enjoyed every second if it Its $5 per class or $20 per week for unlimited classes and they offer some circuit/weight training which is awesome. Great if you want to get serious about spinning and know that you are not getting real instruction at the big box gyms. Sign up for a class online, don't be a no show because you'll take a reservation away from someone who really plans on going. I like the endurance class, I resolve to go again soon! read more

I did my first class on Saturday. The spinning class is okay. I have been spinning for 10 years now at 3 different gyms, so I know spinning. Their Saturday 90 minute spinning class is what got me to drive all the way to Hialeah. The instructor is motivation. A 90 minute spinning class is great and a lot of places do not offer that, but when all you do is stand for 90 minutes and do a few jumps the class is boring and drags. What happened to seated climbs and sprits, mixing it up??? A seated climb is so much more challenging than standing up with resistance for 90 minutes. I might give them another try and see if the class has more to offer then standing up for 90 minutes. read more

Had to take a moment and commend Secret Cycling. Wanted to change up my workout regiment this weekend and had the opportunity to attend a class Saturday and Sunday. Both instructors (Bob & Stan) kept me motivated during the ride. Mercy, is an absolute doll! Being our first time,she measured and set my friends and I up on the bikes, and even checked on us during the ride. Everyone there, were helpful and friendly and it just made the experience all the more worthwhile. For $5 dollars, you get an awesome workout, a courtesy towel, use of the weight area prior to class, friendly staff and patrons and a great environment! I would give them 10 stars if possible. You won't find a better environment. Instructors and students are motivated, welcoming, and inspiring. You can't beat the $20 unlimited classes. Okay....if you enjoy working out and aren't doing so at this gym, I'm not sure what your criteria is. Secret Cycle is a "unicorn"....everything you could ask in a gym, and the cost is crazy low. I attended a cycling class this morning taught by Robert, the owner. The facility was immaculate and everything from the bikes to the misters and candles (a la SoulCycle) were of the highest caliber. Uplifting aphorisms blanket the walls and the other cyclists attending the class are welcoming and encouraging. This is where the similarity with SoulCycle stops. The class was 90 minutes of high intensity pedaling, alternating between hard climbing in and out of the saddle and sprinting (but not that crazy 135 rpm pace). Robert challenges you to find your limit and work to overcome it. He is as much a performance management coach as cycling class teacher and the combination makes for one heck of a workout experience. I will not visit Miami again without making a Secret Cycle class. Please do not miss this experience either if given an opportunity to try it. read more

Place is dirty, trainers do not look in shape, no extra amenities available. No personal training atmsphere, with 43 bikes in one room, how will anyone feel like if the trainer is helping them. Not reliable and for $4 dollars i rather buy a smoothie. read more
