About two years ago I needed a single used all season tire, I searched around for a used tire shop…read moreand eventually found Green Car Tires. I briefly checked out the reviews before I payed a visit to their shop, located off of Kennedy Rd in Scarborough. I don't recall who serve me, but I do recall that it was busy, in fact after the job was done, I waited an additional twenty minutes or so. I was not happy at the time that I was not acknowledge, I had to speak up to inform the person that I want it to pay and be on my way. If I had not spoken up, it's likely I would of been waited longer. I think that the tire with installation was $50, so the cost hasn't change since then, if I'm correct. That tire was in fair condition with enough thread, it lasted me two years even until I purchase new tires. My next visit to Green Car Tires was for a winter tire, as I ran over a screw and tried patching it with a kit, but to no avail. I returned to Green Car Tires because I trusted them enough, I was served this time by Mike (I believe that was the gentlemen's name), his brother is Corey the owner. I called a head and requested one winter 195/65/15 and he said they had some. It wasn't as busy at their shop this time. Unfortunately the tire I was shown was the wrong size as it was marked incorrectly, again I waited longer then necessary for a single tire to be installed. Mike apologized and didn't want to charge me, but I insisted on paying, so I was charged half the cost at $25. I also purchase some lug nuts from them, which by the way were $1 each for the ones I got. Would be worth it if you need some lug nuts for your steel rims. Overall I'm satisfied with the tires and customer service, I mean they were nice and pleasant to deal with. About waiting longer, I wasn't mad or anything, so I'm not going to judge as it happens. I would return again if I needed another used tire, but unfortunately I don't live in the area anymore. They do other things at the shop, they sell new products, look out for some deals in winter tires. I can't really comment on pricing in general as I haven't gone anywhere else, but I'd say give them chance and see if they are for you.

WONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE…read more Went to purchase tires, asked if install is possible if i buy the tires, was told by Mike (owner) yes they can accomodate the installation today ONLY, within the purchase price, so bought the tires and after installation, Mike came asking to move the car out fast, i saw there was no air in one of my tires mounted on the car, tire was flat, i told Mike there itself to have tire filled with air, he became aggresive, raised his voice and said "for fuck's sake" sir i need you to move the car right now and yelled for his technician to fill up air in the tire and walked away, very unprofessional, all this needs to be checked before a customer is called and informed the car is ready, the technician was still in process of filling air im the tire, looks to be poor communication between Mike and his techician working on the car, Some customer care training is needed for the owner, clearly he doesnt know how to interact with customers He wanted me to drive my car, with flat tire and damage my rime and tire There is no proper waiting place for customers, 2 large dogs were sleeping on the sofa where customers are standing & waiting, no place to park cars to wait for your turn. Poorly managed place with uneducated people. Better visit different shops.

With that many happy customers, I had to see for myself. I emailed Charlie with my tire size and concerns, and he got back to me super fast and put all of those concerns to rest. My tires were ordered and installed later that day. Even though they close at 6, they stayed later to accommodate me since I couldn't make it until 5:45. My tires were installed and I was on my way home by 6:30. AMAZING! I paid the BEST price that I could find after weeks of research and worrying that I may have to settle for used Kijiji tires. I am SO happy that I found this place, and it's my mission to tell everyone about it...if you need tires, be happy now because you've found your spot!

He is straight forward to deal with, and really knows his stuff. He helped me select the appropriate wheels / tires based on my concerns. The pricing was great too! I was surprised that his price is actually better than the best price that I got from shopping around online. He ordered fresh tires and wheels and got them quickly. He had everything pre-installed / mounted before I arrived. The install took less than 20 minutes. The tire/wheel package includes one season of winter tire storage, which normally costs $75/season or $150/year. That price in itself is the best I have seen in GTA, and the fact that he got that thrown in as part of the tire/wheel package is just great. Highly recommend Charlie and Tire Tactics. Great honest straight forward people. Honest pricing. Great service. You can't beat that!

I'm very picky about customer service, especially when I observe how people treat my elderly parents (wanna see how good customer service is somewhere, see how they treat the elderly...). We've been served by both Jim and John, who I believe are the two proprietors, and they've *always* been exceedingly accommodating and understanding. *Case in point: One of our cars had a major problem. We called, and John offered to take a look at it, free of charge same day. He did, then explained how difficult it would be to locate and fix the problem (probably something with our power steering that would require taking out parts just to diagnose the actual problem), suggested that it probably wasn't worth paying to fix (13 year old car), *and* he topped up the power steering fluid so the car would run for at least another week. Which it did. This was amazing because: a) He didn't charge us anything. Period. b) All of this was business between just him and my 62 year old Mom, who needed convincing on what to do with the car (I was worried she would get taken advantage of, and I wasn't around to help her). c) He told me what kind of auto fluid I could buy if my Mom wanted to drive the car a bit longer while we buy a new one, where to pick it up, and that if I brought the car and fluid back, he would top it back up free of charge. I really don't know what else to say. They're always very busy with customers getting winter/summer tire changes, and we've never had payment issues or concerns (the times he actually charged us!).

Being decently handy, I had an idea of how I might go about repairing it myself, but sought professional advice. I would strongly caution motorists before trusting this shop with a major repair…read more In March 2024, I PAID MASTER MECHANIC TO REPLACE the flex/Y-pipe on my 2015 Infiniti QX60. Approximately 27 MONTHS LATER, I was advised that the same exhaust component needed to be replaced AGAIN. In my opinion, that is an unacceptable lifespan for a repair of this nature and raises serious questions about the quality of the part supplied, the installation, or the original repair. I retained the invoice and photographs and subsequently examined the components on the vehicle. Rather than reassuring me, what I found left me with MORE questions about exactly what was installed in 2024 and why I was facing the same repair again barely two years later. This is what concerns me most: customers generally cannot crawl underneath their vehicles and verify expensive repairs themselves. We PAY professional mechanics because we TRUST them to install the parts we paid for and perform the work competently. After this experience, that trust is gone. I brought my concerns directly to Frank, the Service Manager (Habib the owner refused to speak with me). Frank refused to answer any of my questions and did not provide an explanation. My advice to other motorists is simple: DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. KEEP YOUR INVOICES. PHOTOGRAPH THE PARTS. ASK TO SEE WHAT WAS REMOVED. GET A SECOND OPINION. I would NEVER entrust another vehicle to this location.
