We found Kris Tate with Auto & Marine Upholstery of St. Augustine. And what a find he is. They are your consummate small shop who does quality work at a fair price. First, he came to us and spent the day installing replacement covers on the captain's chairs. Then, he took the dinette and the bolt of material we had with him. In about ten days he was done with it. We picked it up from his shop and dropped off the sofa. Around ten days later, he was done with that. Eric arrived on time, was extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable and was well equipped with the necessary tools and equipment. He removed 5 small dings, 3 in my drivers door and two in the trunk. The job was completed in about 4 hours like quoted, and the price felt fair for the amount of work done. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is there are a couple small imperfections along the edges (looks like minor tooling marks). Nothing major, but noticeable up close. Overall still solid work and definitely worth it if you need upholstery repairs done.

I brought my vehicle in for a simple issue that they claimed they could fix. Not only did they completely fail to resolve the problem, but they somehow made everything worse. While in their care, they actually crashed my Jeep--yes, crashed it. No explanation, no accountability, and definitely no apology. Just a damaged vehicle and a bill. They still had the nerve to charge me full price for a job they didn't do, and I left with more issues than I came in with. To make matters worse, because of their negligence, my insurance premium increased. I'm now paying more monthly due to a wreck they caused--while my car was supposed to be getting repaired. The shop is run by the most unprofessional, disorganized, and shady group of people I've ever encountered. The environment was uncomfortable, the staff were rude and unhelpful, and frankly, it seemed like several of them were under the influence of something. The entire place gave off unsafe, chaotic energy. I've since reported them to the Better Business Bureau, and I strongly encourage anyone else who's had a similar experience to do the same. Vehicle is a 2020 Nissan Rogue, and very clean with no previous accidents. Bottom line, if you have a lease car and insurance sends you to these guys, they are fine. He told me that this particular dent was not workable due to its location and the make of the car having reinforcement in the door. He packed up his stuff and was ready to leave. I asked him what I owed him, and he was not willing to take any money because he was not satisfied with what he had done. When I looked at the car, it was SIGNIFICANTLY improved. He did manage to remove a lot of the unsightly dent and clean off the paint from the other car that smacked into my door. I gave him some cash anyway. As I mentioned earlier, I knew that it was tough dent due to the location and the physics of the repair. I only wanted some improvement, and he certainly did that.
