We brought our senior cat, Huck, in because we had been battling fleas and ear mites for approximately three months. By the time of our appointment, we had finally gotten the flea problem under control, but the ear mites remained our primary concern. During the initial visit, we were told Huck needed a comprehensive senior exam, which cost approximately $600. We gladly paid because we wanted to make sure he received the care he needed. We were also informed that he required extensive dental work, estimated between $1,700 and $2,700. Fortunately, the final cost was on the lower end of that estimate, around $1,700. At the first appointment, we were assured that the medication prescribed would address both the flea and ear mite issues. Unfortunately, months later, we are still dealing with the ear problem. Communication throughout this process was consistently poor. Before appointments, no one provided helpful instructions such as whether we should avoid cleaning Huck's ears beforehand. For his dental procedure, we were told only that drop-off would be between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. No one mentioned paperwork. When my boyfriend arrived, he was immediately handed paperwork and told it would take about 20 minutes to complete. Naturally, this caused unnecessary stress because he wasn't expecting it. In reality, it was only one page and took just a few minutes. At Huck's dental follow-up appointment, we arrived early by mistake, then returned shortly after our scheduled time. While waiting, one of the receptionists assisted us while actively eating and speaking with food in her mouth. This was not the first time we had experienced this behavior from staff and it came across as unprofessional. Although our appointment was scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Huck was not taken back until nearly 10:50. We requested to speak directly with the doctor because we still had concerns about his ears. After examining him, the doctor stated that his ears appeared darker than normal but was unsure whether the issue was ear mites, yeast, or something else. We were then told that microscopic testing could be performed--but it would cost an additional $103. At that point, I was extremely frustrated. We had already spent well over $2,000 between exams, treatment, and dental care, and the original issue that brought us in still had not been resolved. Being asked to spend even more money simply to determine what was going on felt unreasonable given the circumstances. While we were waiting, another customer was attempting to pick up medication for his pet after receiving a text notification. Staff appeared unable to locate the medication and repeatedly searched different locations while asking the customer the same questions. It reinforced the impression that the clinic was disorganized and lacking clear communication. My biggest concern is not the cost. Veterinary care is expensive, and I understand that. My concern is that we spent over $2,000, received repeated assurances that the treatment would address the problem, and yet the original issue remains unresolved. Combined with the poor communication, lack of preparation for appointments, long waits, and unprofessional interactions at the front desk, this experience left us feeling disappointed and frustrated. I sincerely hope the clinic improves its communication, organization, and follow-through with clients because pet owners deserve clear answers and that their concerns are addressed.

Every morning on my trip, she would text me various pictures of all three cats, and they always looked very content, and even the skittish cat was clearly eating his meals even while she was there. OFOSA is an AMAZING organization to adopt through. They match families based on personality (what…read morethe family is,) and match it to their potential kitty. We first heard of OFOSA through Instagram and followed our Oscar (formerly Drizzle, of the "Sky Kitten" litter,) from his small beginnings as one of 8 and his mama. His foster mom clearly loves each kitty, kitten and older kitty, as her own from the minute she receives them. I was a foster before I had kids, and it's a hard and thankless job from most adopters. They have no idea the love and emotion that goes into raising a healthy kitty only to see them go home and never see them again. We originally wanted the female calico, Sunny, in the litter. My daughter, who is 8 1/2 lost her "soul mate kitty" in February of 2019 and asked for a kitten, so we thought about it and the timing of this litter worked perfectly with our plan to allow her to pick a kitten. When it came to choice time, we did a blind family vote. We wrote down numbers and read the character traits out. Sunny placed last for us all. She wasn't who we should adopt. But when we tallied it up, Drizzle was our CLEAR first place. Cuddly AND playful was what we were looking for and that's exactly what we got. We adopted him almost a month ago, on 12/11/21 and he very quickly won our hearts. He's 16 weeks now and he's a frisky and mischievous little kitten with loads of energy and spunk. He is an absolute love as well. One day when it's time for another kitty, we will absolutely be doing this same process again. He couldn't be a better fit with us. Thank you SO much OFOSA. We have come for regular check-ins, a neuter, and a sick kitty visit. All three times the visits were exceptional. Tucker (orange boy) was overweight and we didn't know how to go about putting him on a diet without starving Toa (black boy). They gave us lots of advice and tips that ultimately worked great! Tucker is down 6 pounds and healthy! Toa had bald spots on his tail and neck that would randomly come and go. We got him in some better food, and an occasional allergy pill during the tough months. He hasn't had a bald spot since! Toa was also fixed here and healed perfectly. I really appreciate how the staff would be mindful of the costs of what they recommended. Instead of the expensive allergy pills, they suggested an alternative that was $3. Same for flea medicine which can be spendy! Not like other vets who have deals with certain companies and make money off them. Give them a shot if your kitty needs a vet

They failed to tell me about a second medication that was prescribed to me, told me multiple time frames for when my labs would be ready - each time getting longer, and did not thoroughly discuss lab results with me or look at them thoroughly apparently (when I brought up a comment from the labwork, Dr. Schendel said "I must have missed that" and then dismissed my concern over the comment). Additionally, when receiving our last results, Dr. Schendel could not give me any information on his results over the phone and told me "I don't really understand them" and referred us elsewhere. I hope they can improve communication here.
