Best home inspection after buying 5 homes in 37 years! Jeffrey Snyder was thorough, clear in his report with great pictures identifying problems and we felt the cost was well worth what we gained in knowledge of the home. This was a difficult inspection due to the detached boat house and Key West style home with an upstairs deck. I live in the West Coast, so had to fly home after one week of home searching, but was confident that we had a great home inspection. I saved money on our homeowners insurance by requesting the 4-point home inspection and wind mitigation inspection. This was a very satisfactory experience, and one of the most thorough inspections I've ever been involved with. I'd had a new roof installed at the insistence of my insurance carrier - and I did not want my hurricane protection accidentally overlooked during the Wind Mitigation Verification. The inspector, Colin, did a top-notch and detailed inspection of the roof both inside and out. Even though it was an extremely hot July day he did not skimp on time in the attic. And he also reviewed all my hurricane coverings and supporting documentation. The inspection report was very detailed, covered all the bases, and really helped reduce my insurance premiums. We were delighted to meet our wind mitigation inspector, Daryl Hechter. He was both competent and professional. He bravely went where no man should ever go--our dark, murky, webby attic! He took delightful pictures of the exterior of our home. He was thorough and efficient in his work. Within a few minutes, he had completed the inspection and shared it with us. I could not have had a better experience with SEC Inspection Services. Although I did receive some bad news about the house my wife and I want to buy, Dan, my inspector, was very informative and helpful. He went over his report with me and explained all of the inspection points in detail. And he has good people skills and a great sense of humor.
