Scott and Jane Orthodontics was my last stop. I was charmed from the get-go. They seemed like really smart people who studied from great places and were dedicated to perfection, and their staff was genuinely friendly. The office was beautiful. Of course, the main thing I really look at is the orthodontists' level of qualification and expertise. They seemed to be great in that regard, with Dr. Scott explaining the issues and the recommended treatment in great detail (without over-simplifying like some doctors like to do), and he seemed to have a highly cognizant understanding of my malocclusion. Of course, they're both board certified as well and have graduated from great places. It took me two years. Getting them on was a breeze (minus the spacers - ouch!), as was the removal. Adjustments are very quick, with virtually no wait times. One of the things I loved is how Dr. Scott himself did most of the work, and he only schedules one patient at a time, so you have the doctor's full attention. It's not like those orthodontic chain offices where the doctor triple books and then sees you for a millisecond at the end of the visit. Not at all. Dr. Scott always went into detail when I asked him questions, and too frequently I emailed him questions at odd times, to which he responded graciously and promptly. I really grew to trust him over the two years I had my braces. He is farsighted in his orthodontic vision, and meticulous in his treatment. He's not syrupy-sweet I'm-your-new-best-friend like some doctors are, but he is smart and clinical and wants (and knows) the best for you. He's also super chill - down to earth and very easy to approach. My overjet has now disappeared, and my crowded lower teeth (with one totally hanging out of the arch) have straightened out, with only two upper extractions done for the 12mm overjet. ...as you can imagine, I'm quite a dedicated retainer-wearer. Can't (won't) go back to the horror of crooked teeth. Throughout my treatment, the discomfort I experienced was minimal. Before getting braces, I heard HORROR stories about the pain... but my teeth rarely ever hurt (thank God, I was busy with classes). Perhaps this is just me, but it may also be the doctor's gentle hands and the modern brackets. Amber is the front desk receptionist, and she's awesome - always sunny and upbeat. I think Drs. Scott and Jane thoroughly vet their office members - and they've done well. Staff form the backbone of the office, and the experience is so much better when you have great staff to guide you through it! They have great, upstanding people. The ladies who work with the doctor are super sweet as well. Shout out to them all! I must mention that I was a nightmare in rescheduling - I think I rescheduled each appointment like ten times. They were so sweet about it, and very flexible! Don't be like me, though - stick to your appointment times! :) With this quality, you'd probably expect them to be super expensive. Nope! Their prices are actually on the lower end of Sugar-Land-average. Perhaps you shouldn't judge an office by its amenities, but they do have a lovely office, awesome decor, lots of natural sunlight, complimentary drinks in the waiting room, etc. etc. There are even iPads in the waiting room for the kiddos. TL;DR: Phenomenal office. Top of the line doctors, very caring staff. Super affordable. Great amenities. Nothing not to love! Don't overlook them if you're ever looking for Sugar Land's best orthodontist. That, if you'll take it from Sugar Land's worst patient, would be a mistake. :)

We have had a long relationship with this office and it has been wonderful over all these years! Both of my kids have had braces through this office and the experience to this day has always been good and positive! The atmosphere is very professional and the environment and staff are top notch! As a matter of fact the Sweetwater office has been recently remodeled and it looks great! We always like coming here because of the beautiful lake right beside the office complex! It's so scenic and the whole office park is beautiful! The waiting area is very spacious, bright and contemporary and you can help yourself to a coffee or bottled water while you wait. There's always some family friendly cartoon or Disney movie playing on the big screen and plenty of current reading material. We never have to wait very long and the staff here have always been friendly and informative. Cheryl who works up front is very nice and is always eager to answer any questions you may have. Around 18-20 months in, an X-ray showed excellent progress. We were happy with the results and clearly told them we wanted to stop, understanding there might be a few minor imperfections remaining. Instead of respecting our decision, we were repeatedly pushed to continue. From March through August, every appointment became "next month will be the last." Yet every time, there was another reason to push it out. Then came the final straw. On the morning of our August appointment--which was supposed to be the final appointment--they called AGAIN asking to postpone us another month. When I refused, we were told we could come but should expect a very long wait. We arrived only 10-13 minutes late, prepared to wait, and were instead rudely told to leave because we were a "no-show " and the irony is that the office was visibly empty. We had to insist on speaking with management before they finally agreed to complete the treatment--after asking us to pay to finish off. After nearly two years of being reliable patients, never having payment issues, never creating appointment problems, and repeatedly accommodating their scheduling changes, this is how we were treated. We are extremely disappointed and would never recommend this practice. This experience taught us that a good treatment result is not enough. Respect, transparency, listening to patients, and respecting a family's time and decisions matter just as much. Sharing this so other families can make an informed decision before choosing a medical practice. Please do your research and choose carefully. Your time, money, and decisions deserve to be respected.

I've been a patient here for over a year, and while the care started off fine, things changed once I fell behind on payments. I still owe around $2,000, and instead of working with me or showing any understanding, the staff immediately turned me over to a third-party payment company and refused to help me with my braces or any issues I was having. Recently, my jaw started locking, cracking, and feeling tight after eating, and I called to ask for advice since I still have braces on. The response I got was completely unkind and dismissive. They made it clear they wouldn't even look at me because of the balance. I wasn't asking for a free service . I just needed help with pain that could be related to the treatment they started. It's disappointing and sad to see a place that works with people's health treat patients like numbers instead of humans. Dental and orthodontic work isn't cheap, and sometimes life happens but compassion doesn't cost a thing. However, I had a disappointing experience recently when my son went in to have his wire removed. It turned out to be the office's administrative week, and almost everyone was out except for one assistant. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes, and the appointment was rushed. The next morning, we had to wait another 30 minutes for the removable retainer, which caused us to shuffle our other plans. I understand that scheduling can be challenging, but it would have been very helpful if the office had informed us in advance that it was their administrative week and the doctor was not on site.

But the office's shady billing practices leaves me very uncomfortable. My daughter had an expander placed and has only had 2 follow-up visits. When I checked my insurance, I found 13 claims submitted, with several for dates when my daughter wasn't even seen. I contacted my insurance, and they told me to file a complaint. Lemke initially told me I owed $800+. After I spoke to the insurance company, that amount dropped to $89, which they said was for X-rays my insurance didn't cover. However, my insurance told me Lemke never submitted a claim for those X-rays. Now they took out my daughter's expander and says she needs a retainer. My insurance says retainers are covered, but Lemke is telling me I need to pay cash upfront and submit the claim myself. What concerns me is that a parent could receive a large balance, assume it is correct, and pay it without realizing there may be discrepancies in the insurance claims. Please check your insurance claims and EOBs carefully if you're a patient there. Make sure the dates and services actually match what your child received. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Lemke Orthodontics and would strongly encourage other parents to carefully review their billing. I will be following up with an official complaint with the Texas state board, texas dental association and the attorney general's office.

We took our 12 year old to get an ortho consult. The staff took x-rays and pictures and we saw Dr…read more Halford for less than 5 minutes, who never even looked inside my son's mouth. They then presented a corrective plan that included invisaline for almost $7000. My father in law, who is a dentist and does invisaline (he did invsaline on me years ago), advised us against invisiline on our son, so we questioned this recommendation by Dr Halford and said we prefer tradional braces. Dr Halford dismissed this and gave us some salesmen speech about more advanced technology and they only do invisaline. Having done invisaline myself for 2 years it is not the technology that makes it ineffectual with children, but a lack of discipline to keep removable aligners in thier mouths when the they hurt or to brush thier teeth before putting aligners back in. We were put aback that they would advocate and try to sell us with misleading and unrealistic info on a treatment plan we already said we didn't want (seriously if we were going to do invisaline we would do it for free with my father not pay this hack $7k). He also proceeded to say that he only sees patients with invisaline every 15 to 18 weeks but prefers having pictures sent in weekly. This borders on teledentristry, which is illegal in the state of Texas. My father states he sees patients every 4-6 weeks, which is standard from other dentists we have talked to. When we asked if they did braces at all, they replied we start off all patients on invisaline and if it doesn't work or there is inauffient progress then they start traditional braces. This raised all kinds of red flags, because invisaline is supposed to be able to fix any smile. Then it clicked this is thier hustle they sell the more expensive invisaline even if they know it might ineffectual only to later swap to braces (which isn't included in the original quote) for more money. So these ppl are unethical hacks, who did not do thier due diligence in the consultation and from what it sounds like they don't do it either once treatment has begun. They did not give us the impression that they are interested in helping my son, but only see him as $$$. In the end, we got multiple ortho estimates and Dr. Halford is the only one that recommended invisaline. All the others corroborated my father who said he is too young for invisaline to be effective. All the others recommended trad. Braces. Also Dr. Halford's "more efficient and better" treatment plan was the most expensive option by more that $1500 and longer than traditional braces. Avoid these guys they are like snakeoil salesmen who are looking to take you for as much as they can.

His staff started out being nice but my last couple of visits before completely stopping to see Dr. Halford they were disgustingly rude. One of them sneered at me every time she saw me. This only shows that they are fake and completely unsympathetic towards patients.

I probably wouldnt go back to this ortho. To start with, note that they have two office locations…read more Jones Rd and Sugarland. They alternate days between the two. So, if you have problems that cant wait, hopefully you'll have a problem on the day they are closer to you. (Note that they dont share records b/w the locations either so if you call the other office they wont know anything.) They dont use email. There are a lot of people moving through his office. Sometimes I get the feeling im a number rather a patient. I rarely see the Doc, its mostly his assistants doing the work and the assistants catching problems / making comments. The offices are nice, clean, the assistants are great and he did finance. Doc is a nice guy but I think he should spend more time with his patients. Finance was helpful, he didnt require it all up front like other locations tried with me.
