I had a terrible experience with Seattle Naturopathic Clinic. For my insurance to cover the visit Dr. Rebecka Hoppins Campbell had to be an "N.D" and a "M.D." I understand that this is particular and annoying, but that's how my insurance works. I called the receptionists and asked if Dr. Campbell was an ND and an MD and explained about the insurance situation. The receptionist said, "she gets this question all the time and yes, Dr. Campbell is an N.D. and an M.D. I moved forward with an appointment. Dr. Campbell was very attentive and did listen to my questions/health concerns. I paid $15 co-pay and around $200 in herbs and supplements for the initial visit. The office requested a follow up around 6 weeks. I went for the follow up, I wasn't feeling too much better but paid another $15 for a co-pay and another $200 in herbs and supplements. A few weeks later I get a bill from Seattle Naturopathic Cinic for $390 saying my insurance was denied for both visits. I called and said it shouldn't have been and asked again if Dr. Campbell was an MD and an ND. Their receptionist said yes. I asked her to rebill my insurance, perhaps a mistake. About a week later I actually received a call from the receptionist who said she had made a mistake and Dr. Campbell is NOT an MD and that I was responsible for the $390. I was extremely upset and said I wasn't going to pay this because I was misinformed and would have never visited the clinic if I knew my insurance wouldn't have covered it, if I knew she had NOT been an MD. Receptionist was so mad at me, perhaps upset with herself?, that she hung up on me! Bottom line, bill of $390, plus lab fees which Dr. Campbell said my insurance would 'probably take care of' $200, plus $400 in herbs and supplements...still not any better. Went to NW Asthma and Allergy, paid $15 in co-pay and am feeling much better. With so many other great naturopatic centers, don't bother with this one. read more
