The affable Somali proprietor is proud of his merchandise, and with good reason! There is a wide array of foodstuffs and beverages from East Africa, the Middle East and elsewhere offered here. Did you need a bag of instant Qahwo (Somali coffee, often spiced with cardamom, cloves and cinnamon)? Perhaps some Jowar (sorghum) flour? A jumbo canister of powdered milk? Or the mixes to make tangerine, watermelon, papaya or other fruit drinks? OK, technically those last items come from Chile, but you get my point - there's a lot of stuff to see here. And I haven't even mentioned their meat section - all Halaal of course! Why, there's your everyday beef and chicken, as well as Hilib Ari (goat), Hilib Geyl (camel)... mmmmmmmmm, so tasty! Well gee, where do you think Kiffah Cafe (on the other side of the parking lot) gets the meats for their yummy homestyle Somali dishes like Beer iyo Sabayad (liver and flatbread)? So visit Mile High Halaal Market and see why it's already on everyone's lips!
