I have stayed in nicer hotels in Mexico. Also, when we tried getting someone to wait on us at the pool and the Blake Restaurant, they basically ignored us until we said something. Also, the food was mediocre at best as well. It had no flavor. Also, we were told that the Steakhouse was closed on Sundays by two different employees. Come to find out, it was not closed after all. They need to get all of their employees on the same page. Also, we were never greeted when we arrived as well as when we left. We won't be staying here again. Since we paid alot for a two night stay, the hotel should have been excellent.

I love nooks and crannies, and the bar/restaurant area is full of them. The food menu here is diverse; so is the drink menu. My only issue with the drinks is that they have only one IPA available. Still, I'm a repeat customer.

Our room was on the top floor where the Seagull Rooms are located. It appears to be newly renovated. It was clean & comfy. The shower pressure was perfect, and the AC worked very well. It's located in the San Luis Resort with many attractions & restaurants nearby. The beach and breakwater viewpoint is across the street from the hotel. There was a Sugar Plum Market in the hotel on the day that we checked out. Wish I could have spent some time looking at all the Christmas goodies. There are just a few things that were less than ideal. The buffet breakfast was pretty basic, however they do serve Starbucks coffee. The coffee was good! I have to say that Marriott wins in the breakfast department over Hilton. The port shuttle is not complimentary. We could have used Uber instead of the shuttle. They do have a Park, Stay, & Go hotel offer for those with cars. Perhaps that's a better deal, but I'm pretty sure that the fees are added to the rate. I was impressed that they had a handheld steamer in the closet. We didn't get to use it, but it's a nice thing to have. I would have traded it for a pair of disposable slippers. It's the little conveniences that make me the happiest. It was cool to see the offshore oil drilling rigs glowing out in the distance at nighttime. I had never seen that before. On a clear day, you can barely see them out there. I really enjoyed the Gulf view from our room. Walking along the seawall at sunset was the best part. Would I stay here again? Yes, with a few minor adjustments. We would probably have breakfast at the IHOP next time. Other than what was mentioned earlier, it was all good.

They were all speedy and friendly, helpful when it came to selecting cocktails and food. Chocolate martinis are still delicious, as are the fruity frou-frou drinks - but not that strong. And each time I got bubbly or a mimosa, it was warm. I still drank it, but meh. Drinks are still more than you'd want to pay for a not-so-stiff drink, but what hotel bar isn't pricey? I spent probs more than $100 just on myself, so I rec just buying a bottle. You have to have a wristband to access the pool and get towel service; not sure how to get a band if you're not staying at the hotel. I guess you could always rent a cabana. Which are pretty pimp. Flat screen TV, couches, fresh fruit, bottled water and of course, poolside view and VIP service. Cabanas sell out fast, so book early (weeks ahead, not days) if you're gonna drop in on a weekend. The crowd here is an even mix of families, hotties and regular Joes, which I like. I did, however, notice a lot of hot moms with their kiddos. Great idea for those moms looking for a quick getaway that can entertain both adults and youngsters. Potties: Please use them. Don't go in the pool. As added persuasion, the restroom inside the main lobby has a tub of fragrant salt scrub that's complimentary. They also have foot showers, a mojito bar, wet bar, hot tub, kiddie slide with a grotto. There's a no-smoking rule here. I'm not a smoker, but I wanted to enjoy my Hight Cigar and feel all baller like. Ah well, I'll save it for another day.

He arrives by helicopter, landing on the very visible helipad out front -- prime Seawall real estate -- making sure every tourist, jogger, and driver sees it. It's loud, disruptive, and throws the staff into a frenzy, and the whole resort feels like it's performing for one person instead of serving its guests. Inside the room, the raised bowl sink had a perpetual ring of gunk around the back that looked like a science experiment no one wanted to claim. Beds were comfortable enough, and no one woke up with back pain, but the cream/earth‑tone palette felt less like a design choice and more like the cheapest option someone could bulk‑order. Pretty property, but the experience doesn't justify the reputation.

I didn't realize that I was temporarily invisible. Finally, and this is just a matter of taste, get rid of the antique cars scattered throughout the lobby. They completely detract from what should be a clean-lined Spanish revival/deco feel. I've been coming to this hotel for more than 30 years. Never have I seen it so poorly managed.
