Parking is limited. The place is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but this is still our go to spot for checking out indoor plants. My wife's plant journey started here 2 years ago when we came in and she saw a 50% sale during winter season and she got a cactus. That cactus started it all. Now we have plant shelves and stands all around the house with pepperonias and hoyas and any plant that's generally non-toxic to cats. But, we still drop in quite regularly to see what other variations there are. She is into plants. I am not. But, a while back, the owners had 4 new barn cats. I always walk in and make it a mission to find all 4. The black one is the shy one and is usually the hardest to find. Brazil is the easiest. Lately, I havent been able to find them though. My friend loves plants and flowers. We visited on a chilly, windy day in January. The garden center was much bigger inside than it looked outside. Customers can purchase plants, potting items, soil, rocks, seeds, wood, gravel, powder, stones and so much more. I learned orchids have their own pots. You can place them on rocks or soil. There were so many items inside. The employees said to visit in the warmer months where the property was filled with much more. If you need a gift for someone who enjoys plants, this is a place to visit. If you love plants and want to upgrade your green thumb, this place is for you. There is a strong chance you will meet Pumpkin, the resident cat. She showed up 4 years ago. There were end of season sales on bulbs and other items. read more

There's much to love about seasons but the staff keeps bringing it down. When questioning the price of succulents on a table, I verified that the sign meant everything in the table. When I got up to the front cashier she instead said "unless otherwise marked" but nowhere on the table did it indicate it. read more

Excellent houseplant selection (often overpriced), and they take great care of their annuals shrubs etc (their huchera is the cheapest I've found). The employees are generally very helpful and knowledgeable. But they are the worst with returns and their owner gives off really angry old man vibes. read more

I should start by saying that I'm a houseplant enthusiast. I've had literally hundreds of plants of all different kinds. Seasons is one of my favorite plant places in the area because of the wide variety and good prices they have. I can get all sorts of strange little variations of my favorite plants, and they always have something I've never seen in person or even heard of before. They have very fair prices too, even for their rare plants, and often have sales. I can't comment on other parts of Seasons, but their houseplant area is definitely worth the trip! read more

Great selection for both indoor and outdoor plants! Prices are a litte higher on some finds but they have hard to find plants and their plants are incredibly healthy as well. I picked up some indoor plants that I've really been wanting and it was well worth the 45 min trip. The turn in from the main road is a bit confusing but they have a decent amount of parking. If you need anything from very small succulents from large outdoor vines, they truly have it all. Plus very cute pottery to select from as well. read more

Inventory - 4 Stars Customer Service - 2 Stars I like Seasons Nursery in terms of inventory. But their service is awful. Getting in the parking lot can be chaos, mostly when they are busy. Parking can be slim and maneuvering around the tight lot can be challenging. They have an excellent selection of houseplants, outdoor plants as well as edible plants. I can never leave empty handed. Prices vary, but overall are reasonable. The customer service needs vast improvement in all departments. I have never been helped by an employee other than paying for my purchases and they have always made me feel like I am an inconvenience. I don't think a single employee here wants to be here or can handle in person human interaction. And during the pandemic, their COVID protocols were awful and honestly non-existent. They barely wore masks and acted like they were the only ones having to deal with the discomfort of wearing a mask. And when they were asked to put their mask on, they threw a hissy fit every time. So we've stayed away until things calmed down. Again, we come here if we really need something they have, but choose to support other establishments first if we can. read more

I was told about this place from a fellow plant lover on Instagram. I visited and was very pleased by the selection and decent prices. I purchased a Monstera Albo cutting ($190) and a Satin Pothos (around $30). BEWARE of the cuttings. Firstly, they couldn't tell me when they actually put the cutting in water. They said "Oh some time in January" but I went on March 14. No visible signs of rooting yet. Within a week, my cutting began yellowing and rotting. I kept it in the same LECA medium that it came in. Although I was disappointed with the dead cutting. I was EVEN MORE disappointed at the lack of regard and customer service when I expressed this to them. At that price point, something should have or could have been done to remedy the situation (a store credit, a partial refund, a partial store credit--something). All I was met with was "Sorry that happened, but nothing we can do." So, just beware the plant cuttings if you choose to buy one. Sign up on the website for the emails bc they have sales every couple Wednesday's! Got neon Pothos, satin Pothos and the marble Pothos are regularly here for $4! Lots of Calatheas and alocasias to choose from as well as some of the best prices on ficus. Waiting for the birkins to go on sale. Got my orbifolio Calatheas and velvet Alocasia here for $20 each. My regal shield was $18! Also got an amazing inventory or hellebores for the fall for my outside gardening. Just go already and drool over all the plants! Strings of pearls are only 5.99! One of the managers', Mike, was maskless and standing within 6 feet of other employees and customers. He was not friendly and did not have an interest in helping. Another associate, when asked if she could help me, flat out said 'no' because she had to water the plants, and to find someone else to help. Lastly, the employee at the checkout, as the other employees before her, really had zero interest in customer service. The only employees that knew how to smile and be helpful were the teens they had hired to help out as cashiers. I'm not sure if it the way they acted was due to them being racist, or if they are generally just unfriendly people. I had driven 40 minutes to come to this nursery due to a positive experience we had last summer with a different employee (who was unfortunately not there today). read more

Really enjoyed our visit here!! Great selection of indoor plants, herbs and other cute succulents. We called ahead asking about orange trees but ended up with a cute little lemon tree - the trees were about 1'-2' tall and will produce fruit in a year or two. I have shopped at this nursery from time to time. I know the owner, the managers, and the staff very well. I cannot accept the racist claims made by other reviewers. It is disheartening for me to read such reviews when I know these people on a business as well as a personal level. With Mask on, you can't tell who is who or what their nationality is for that matter. The claims of racism and racial profiling are 100% inaccurate. Mike and Marina are 2 of the greatest people I know. I stand firm on that! I have purchased pest control products as well as plants from Seasons and there has never been an issue. Some years back I had a bad ladybug infestation, the pest control company could not do anything about it. Marina sold me some spray that eliminated the ladybugs immediately. I went back in 2018 to get some spray for the spiders outside my home and the spray that I purchased kept the spiders away from my front porch up until this spring 2021. We sprayed the product again and I haven't walked into any webs since then. My co-worker absolutely loves the Hydrangea that I purchased for her 60th birthday. Her husband planted it in the front yard immediately and here it is 2.5 years later it has doubled in size and looks amazing. Seasons Nursery definitely sells quality products. read more

I've been to this nursery multiple times in the past year. They have a wide selection of plants and are decently priced. Their plants have always been in good condition and there have been no issues with infestations. However the last two times, I've noticed some of the employees are maskless and don't bother to put them on even when there is a customer walking nearby. read more

So I'm torn about seasons. They have a lot of great plants but I'm pretty sure this is where my mealy bug infestation came from. After purchasing plants from here last year I started noticing this nightmare :( in their defense it probably came from one of their suppliers. What I would say is they have a great selection of plants, and ok customers service, not terrible but not great. The other nurseries near by have less selection but their customers service is much better. For example at the Potomac garden center a gentlemen stopped and asked me if I needed help, another lady saw me looking at soil and gave me some great information. Unfortunately, at seasons I asked about where I could find the cost of hanging baskets and the girl really was not trying to help me and told me to wait in line and they could look it up. So it's definitely worth a peek but don't expect too much in terms of customers service and if you get plants from here quarantine them first to be on the safe side. read more

Really wanted to love Seasons w/ their amazing Wednesday sales but so far 4/7 plants that I've purchased from them have had mealybugs and it's just not worth the hassle. If it was just one, then I would be more understanding. I'm currently surveying the other 3 to make sure that they are ok. The plants that have been affected are Birds of Paradise, Boston Fern, String's of Pearls, and Aloe. I've had these plants for several months now!! I had to throw away the Fern and Pearls because there are so many places for mealybugs to hide. My Birds of Paradise is hanging on for dear life as I have been spraying it with Neem Oil...it seems as there has been a die-off of the mealybug but the Neem was so strong it may take the plant with it. And of course, mealybugs are some of the hardest to get rid of. They are nasty as they spread quickly and suck the life out of their host while leaving a honey-sap like substance. I'll save you the trouble and I won't post any pictures...if you are brave-hearted, you can search for it online. They're easy to spot because they are fuzzy white spots all over the plant. What a shame! As a plant enthusiast, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Beware when you purchase plants from Seasons as there may be bugs accompanying it. read more

Found out about this nursery from a friend back in July 2020 and I've been going every few weeks since. They have a wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants in very good condition and relatively affordable prices. They also do discounts on Wednesdays, which is definitely a plus. I got a burgundy rubber plant in a 6" pot with 5 plants for $20. Also got a philodendron birkin in a 5" pot with 3 plants for about $23. Definitely a steal! read more

When I first came to this nursery, I was absolutely appalled at their amazing selection of indoor plants. I picked up three plants - a Ginny monstera, a rubber plant, and a croton plant. Unfortunately, after about a week, the Ginny monstera displayed signs of moisaic virus. I'm extremely disappointed with this - moisaic virus is pretty contagious between plants, and could have easily taken down my indoor collection. I will not be purchasing from seasons again, as this is a huge concern. read more

Once we bought our home we knew right away that we needed gardening help. We were recommended an amazing gardener and he told us to check ut this nursery to see what plant we wanted for our front yard remodel. One cool Saturday morning while he was working on digging out the weeds and adding a beautiful bed of grass, my husband and I took a trip to Seasons Nursery and lets just say - I lost my mind. I wanted EVERYTHING! We were taken good care of by one of the staff members (I think her name was Kate) who gave us information on all the plants that we were interested in and based on photos of our yard, she told us what would work well based on the amount of sunlight and the space we have. I walked away with 2 evergreen trees, 2 bushes and 8 plants! Its been 3 weeks and everything looks so beautiful! I am already planning for next spring - I want to turn my backyard into a garden oasis! read more

I could spend all day in the greenhouse! It's nice and warm and moist, and so far I haven't seen any of their plants get crispy edges. They have an excellent selection of succulents and cacti compared to other nurseries! They're also priced well - 1.5" pots (I think that's the size, maybe 2") for around $3. I'm not a huge succulent person though, since I don't get enough sunlight in my apartment. It was suuuuper tempting to get a string of pearls though. They also have a cool selection of "bonsai assorted" plants! A lot of them didn't really seem like conventional bonsai plants (in my mind I always think of trees) but I did pick up some small plants for here too - plum variegated oxalis, peperomia microphylla, sensitive plant, and (drumroll!) peperomia prostrata!!! I haven't been able to find a peperomia prostrata anywhere, so I was thrilled. They also have the most beautiful begonia selection. Every time I go in, I'm tempted to get more begonias. The price is right! I think a 6" pot is $8, and the rhizomes are formed beautifully, and the foliage is also brightly colored! I was so tempted to get the escargot begonia, but to be fair, I don't think my house is humid enough, even with a humidifier running. Overall, this is probably one of my favorite nurseries for consistently healthy looking plants. I haven't seen anything super exotic, but the pricing is good, and the employees are also nice when I go checkout. Excited to visit again soon! read more

I purchased five Hoya plants at Seasons Nursery on one day. Once I got home, I was very disappointed to discover the plants were infestated with mealybugs. Out of the 5 plants I bought that day, 4 are doing fine, but 1 died completely, losing one leaf at a time until the whole plant was gone. The stuff would not refund the money for the one plant which died, although I spent over $100 dollars on plants that day and more on other occasions. I would not go back to Seasons Nursery and do not recommend the place mainly due to the fact that the houseplants offered for sale are infestated with mealybugs which I am sure the store is aware of. read more

If you want to bring home infested plant to infest all your plants this is the place to go. All their rare plants looks sickly that probably has fungus, thrips, and spider mites. So mostly like whatever plants they have inside the greenhouse has some sort of disease and I will not take that chance. When they also make a mistake on labeling their plant prices they will not honor it as many other businesses do. They don't care about any honor system. This is my last visit to this place for health reasons. Two employees who are obviously management WERE NOT WEARING MASKS yet in close contact with customers. We currently have the highest infection rate in the country right now! When I confronted the first one, I was rudely dismissed. When an employee is close enough to say "excuse me" so they could pass by, that is TOO CLOSE to not be wearing a mask! It tells me they don't care about me. read more

Really great small nursery I'd like to support, but the staff is awful. There were three employees working when I went there last November, and I was one of two customers. I had a massive cart full of things to buy. A middle-aged lady watched me the entire time I was walking around but didn't make any attempt to ask me if I needed help with anything. The younger woman behind the counter simply seemed like she didn't want to be there at all. None of the four were wearing masks. Another "customer" walked in-- likely a normal patron of the nursery. She proceeded to start telling everyone about her face lift, ok fine, but I was ready to check out, and standing behind her in the line (she was not purchasing anything), and not one of the employees acknowledged me at all, standing there in plain view, plants in a cart and in my hand. I finally decided to speak up and say, "excuse me I'm ready to check out if this person is not in line to purchase", and all three of them gave the most annoyed body language they could possibly give. Again, still no acknowledgement or apology for not providing a paying customer with customer service. I echo the discriminatory vibes here, I went back another time and saw them interact with other customers and noticed the differences as well. read more

The quality of Season's Nursery can't be beat. We love going there and the experience is 100X better than a big box retailer. The staff is awesome and treat us like family, especially Sandra and Brett. They're just very knowledgable and always have the best advice. I like supporting small businesses like this as well. My husband and I went for some flowers and when we went to check out we encountered a woman who not only was not helpful, (my husband had full hands) she didn't offer to take any of the items because she was too busy pointing to where we could put them. I realize we are in the middle of a pandemic and need to be more careful but they were very rude. The sad thing is this is not the first time I have had bad service there. They are not helpful but I always overlooked it because they have lovely plants. Today I went here for the first time, they have a wonderful collection of all types of plants and I felt so happy that I finally found a nice place that has a variety of plants. But all those happy feelings left once I got to the check out line. Me and my mom was patiently waiting at the door where it said "line starts here" this white lady who seemed to be a manager finished helping a white guest and decided to ignore my mom and I and went on to help another white guest and let her cut in the line without helping us when we were clearly the next in line and was standing right there. We decided to wait patiently and after the lady helped the guest she walked out of the cashier area when my mom and I were standing right in front. Then a young girl had to come over to help check out our plants and that "manager looking" lady came out of nowhere and started greeting and assisting other guests who are ...guess what??? WHITE I never write reviews because I do not like to judge service workers but I'm writing this because me and my mom definitely felt the discrimination. If you're in a leadership position it's important to act professionally and as a good role model, specially in a work place where you have young people hired. Her behavior was extremely rude, unwelcoming and she obviously lacks basic customer service skills. It's sad to see in 2021 we still come across people like this in a place like MoCo. For its size, this nursery has the most incredible variety of houseplants. I was absolutely thrilled! The staff was great and I was there for so long the guy joked that if I stayed any longer, I would be working there haha. Never felt rushed, and the staff was so informative and sweet. One lady even advised me to come back on Wednesday (today) so that I could check out the new delivery!! The only thing I cannot comment on is the outdoor plants as I live in an apartment with a south facing window. Can't believe I haven't been here before!! I was raised in Gaithersburg and just now stumbled upon this gem. I was mainly looking for succulents and planters. I can't believe I ever went to Home Depot before for succulents. Stay away from Home Depot... go here! They take AMAZING care of the plant babies, they fan away the humidity from the succulents to keep them nice and dry, and their selection is incredible! Found the exact ones I wanted that I used to have when I lived in California. On the way out I came across crystals!! As if this trip wasn't already too fun. I stocked up on a few... Peruvian pyrite, Amethyst, and some pretty blue one - Apetit? The girls that I spoke to were beyond helpful... two younger girls, one blonde and one brunette. So sweet and helpful and just great energy all around. Can't wait to come back for my next haul... maybe next week! :) (I have a succulent addiction) . When we decided to buy a house, I made an agreement with my husband - I would take care of maintaining the interior of the house, if he would deal with the yard. My husband agreed...and so his epic battle with weeds began. Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. All of the weeds that grow in our yard are green and rather grass-like to me. But to my husband, they are the stink-bugs of the yard. His eyes get cold and steely everytime a new patch of bamboo grass takes over a patch of his tall fescue. He is like the ninja assassin of weeds. Then...then my husband discovered Mike McGraft on WTOP. If my husband is the ninja assassin of weeds - Mr. McGraft is the High Shogun Warrior Emperor of the Yard. His word is law...and his law is Death to Weeds. So when several weeks ago, Mike McGraft talked about using corn gluten as a preemptive strike against the spring infestation of weeds...my husband heard his call and was committed to making our lawn look like a loaf of cornbread. Unfortunately...every other homeowner with a yard also heeded Mr. McGraft's words...and there was a run on corn gluten in the Greater Washington DC area. *sigh*. However, my husband refused to be deterred. We drove around that Saturday, hitting up every nursery and farm-feed store that Google and Yelp could come up with...when I remembered that there was a wholesale nursery just down the road from us. It was like the gods smiled upon us - because LO! We found the corn gluten here! However, Seasons Wholesale Nursery isn't for the casual shopper. We had to find the bag of the corn gluten ourselves, since we couldn't find a sales person to help us, but when we wandered to the plants section of the nursery (the corn gluten was in the metal warehouse), we were able to find someone to help us find a winter daphne (a plant my husband was obsessed with finding). All plants have a one year warrenty which is great, cause we suck at gardening. And my husband got his corn gluten. Our front yard now looks like a large corn muffin, but my husband is happy and convinced that this will be the turning point in his ongoing war on weeds. But between you and me...our yard still has plenty of weeds...but now the neighborhood deer and bunnies seem to find our yard especially delicious... read more
