I haven't been here in years. So I decided to go with gf in tow, on a Saturday night, for 8:10pm…read moreshowing I did remember to come early to get a good spot to park. 39 minutes early is the latest to come. Otherwise you will be waiting in a huge line and may be fighting for a good spot, so you can be far away from the we*d smokers or smokers of any kind, if you are a nonsmoker like we are . Prices are still cheap. Only $14 for general admission (12 and older). Way better than walk in theater general admission prices. Pretty sure ticket prices are cash. So make sure you have cash for tickets. We came to see Mortal Kombat II. Which was amazing. I never saw the first movie. But you don't have to have seen the first to follow this movie. One reason I wanted to see this movie is Mortal Kombat II is my favorite video game (SNES) version of the MK video games. The best place to see an action movie is on the massive drive-in theater movie screen. Not Imax, etc. So we went here. Another great thing about drive in theaters is you can bring your own food and you can have privacy with your date inside your vehicle, if you know what I mean . Just have privacy glass. Because a family of kids can be parked next to your vehicle. If you want, you can bring chairs and sit outside your vehicle and watch. Which is also a great choice. Especially if you have kids. They will love sitting outside. If you do sit outside, bring a coat, blanket, etc. It gets cold at night. The concession is cheap af and not like walk in movie theater prices. For example, their large popcorn is huge. Yet its only $10 with taxes. We got ours with extra butter. They offer a lot of other good stuff too at great prices. But we only wanted warm popcorn with extra butter. I saw some raggedy ATM machines in there. Not sure if concession got them there so you can use cash to buy food. But I didn't ask as I already had some cash on me to buy popcorn. So make sure you bring cash for concession as well. Make sure you vehicle radio can tune to 90.1 FM and you can leave it on without it draining your battery and without parking/headlights being activated. It drives us movie goers crazy when some foolish person will turn on their headlights while everyone else is trying to enjoy the film. Also, if you need a radio for showing, you can buy one from them for $20 at concession. Great experience here. I love this place. Like I said, I havent been here in like 6 years. Last time I was here, one ticket paid for double feature. Which was a steal. Because after Mortal Kombat II, I was looking forward to seeing Michael again. Which we already saw at a walk in theater. But we were ready to see it again on the biggest screen ever. They dont do double features anymore. So if the website shows two movies, dont misread like I did. It clearly says: "TICKETS ARE FOR A SINGLE SHOW TIME ONLY." I was wondering why everyone was leaving after Mortal Kombat II was over . We stayed in vehicle until security drove by and told us they only do single features. We weren't the only ones he had to tell. Great experience here. Cant wait to see another larger than life movie here.

Absolutely love this place. I've watched so many great movies here, from Spider-Man to Deadpool,…read moreand every visit has been a great experience. There's something special about watching movies at a drive in that regular theaters just can't match. The area itself is nice and spacious, and one of my favorite things is opening up the back of a large suburban car, setting up blankets, and getting super cozy while watching the screen. It feels relaxed, fun, and perfect for spending time with friends or family. The cafeteria is another big plus. The food is surprisingly good and very affordable, which makes it easy to grab snacks or meals without overspending. It definitely satisfies cravings and adds to the overall experience. If you're looking for a fun, nostalgic, and comfortable way to watch movies, Paramount Drive In Theaters is a must visit. Highly recommend.

I remember, vaguely in detail, but clearly in broadness, that I saw an episode of Reading Rainbow…read more In this episode the main character goes to a swap meet and is inspired by a book to view a trip to the swap meet as an opportunity to discover treasure. I did not go with a child's optimism to the Roadium, but I did hope to find oddities to engage my mind, trinkets to admire and imagine about, and in general find something that would be right for me at a bargain price. And the Roadium on a Sunday, provided me the opportunity to find all the previously mentioned items and things, plus it also help me get steps in, in a slow pace, while I absorbed the sun's Vitamin D. I am surprised to say this, like super surprised, but the item that most caught- really arrested- my attention was a picture that centered the country's current sitting president: Trump. In the picture, Trump has his head down, eyes closed, hands and fingers interlocked, and he seems to have a face of meditation, maybe receiving peace and/or knowledge. And behind stand a variety of historical and political powerhouses of the past, like Nixon, Reagan, Washington, Lincoln, and others that I could not recognize to name with confidence. However, all had their eyes closed, and had an aura of tranquility that also carried palpable notes of worry. What struck me the most is that the group, in tense serenity, included men and women of color. It is important to note that I clipped the picture, to give the reader or viewer the opportunity to collect their own thoughts and land their own interpretation. That got heavy. I also clipped a picture of quinceneras. One was dressed in Cinderella blue with a carriage, horse, and carriage handers were in the background, I thought it was A.I. generated but perhaps some people do have quinces like that, in fact I know they do, I used to wacth my Super Sweet Sixteen on MTV. Getting inside the Roadium is hard on a Sunday. But apparently worst on others day because the Roadium has different vendors on different days and each attracts a different type of crowd. For instance, on the firstMonday of the month vendors from the Rose Bowl Flea Market come. Please know that I am recycling information that was provided to me by one of the vendors. Research, please to verify accuracy. However, she also explained that on Mondays, when the Vintage Vendors come, parking becomes nearly imposible to find, even on the street. On this day, it cost 5 dollars, the cashiers only accept cash, The place has trinkets, food, and finds, seriously, it is a cool walk to see, touch, and get lost, if that is something one can do- shop vendors with nothing you want to buy, but still find meaning in the seeing and touching. I had peanuts on this day, but they were special because they were freshly toasted. Like I got a few to try (both extra toasted and not so toasted) and they were still warmed from the machine that toasted them. The touch of a warm shell was enough for me to be impressed but the freshness was key. This vendor explains that sometimes the peanuts in the store are 10 days old, after they were first roasted. Again do research. I saw micro Mexican candy stores with some of the candy that really communicates non-tourist streets of Oaxaca. I also bought three shirts. One was 8, two other ones were three dollars, and I feel like they were honest finds. I took a video of a barbie like doll, not barbie, using a Segway, which I thought was a wink to the modern that made sense yet never seen. I also saw a Spiderman Halloween shirt. And I thought how weird. It was him siting Spidey like, and he was pumpkin orange with bats behind him. It was juvenile because it was Disney product from theri Halloween bash time. So this place does have what was one precious yet never bought. I can see how someone might get something today to use at another day, or simply, be creative and DIY stuff from the stuff they found here.

I used to also sell here when I was younger and helped my mom with her clothing business and that was always a good time. It is very professional and very organized at this swap meet. They keep it well up and clean and very structured throughout the parking. On the weekend Saturday and Sunday is five dollars and during the week is cheaper so I recommend coming during a week if you can. I always come here to get some of my jeans. They have the most cutest, unique jeans that I ever saw. They also have all the stuff you need from plates, Clorox wipes, Lysol, and so much more. The deals here are very good. They also sell a lot of roasted peanuts that's freshly made and they have a lot of good food stands as well. The only thing is that the parking can be a little crazy, but other than that, this is a really good outdoor spot meet and I love to come here to grab some cute things for reasonable deals. It's pretty big and I will maybe be roughly around 10 to 12 aisles full of everything you need. -Marshay D.

Friday the 13th found us sitting on graves while watching Rocky Horror on a large inflated screen while the Long Beach Art Theatre cast performed along with movie. Yes, there was literally dancing on graves going on here. The gravestones were interesting to read while we waited for the performance to start. Most of them were from a hundred years ago! The doors opened at 6:30 and the performance and movie started at 9, giving the audience time to enjoy a picnic or visit the food trucks parked in the graveyard. (Now that's a phrase I never thought I would write.) Four food trucks were there next to the port-a-potties. I didn't see anything saying that you could or couldn't bring alcohol, but a lot of people had alcohol out in the open, so I guess it's okay. Our neighbors even popped a bottle of champagne. Some tips for movie night: Come early if you want good parking. Late comers have to park across the street. Drive a small car if you can. The graveyard driveway is pretty narrow. It got pretty chilly in the later hours, so I suggest bringing jackets/blankets. Bring a low back chair,as taller chairs need to go to the back or side. Future films include: June 27: Pink Floyd The Wall July 11: Pulp Fiction July 25: Psycho August 8: Fight Club August 22: Donnie Darko September 5: The Shining Thanks to Yelp OC for the tickets!

If you asked me in September what I thought of Drive-In OC, I would've told you that it's great and…read moreprobably given it 5-stars. After going to Insomniac's Park 'n Rave, Drive-In OC pales far in comparison. I came for Gareth Emery and since I bought GA tickets (which are first come, first serve), I arrived 5-min before gates opened. The security will not let you in until 4:30pm on the dot so we had to wait in the strip mall across the street. By the time we were let in, we were probably the 20th car in line. Somehow after security was done checking our vehicle, we were luckily the 2nd car to actually go into the venue and park, so we had an amazing view in the first row of GA, which is basically the 4th row (first three rows are VIP). I love their food and restroom system, which is all done on their app/website via QR code. Major plus. And their restrooms aren't port-o-potties, so even better! There were also some food trucks that you could buy directly from. Food is average event prices and obviously will not be the best-tasting food. Just good enough to suffice you if you're hungry. You are allowed to bring in your own sealed water, although now looking at the new rules, they've now limited the size per individual, which I don't like. Speaking of limitations, at that time, each car was allowed however many people as there were seatbelts in the car. So if you had 8 seatbelts, you were allowed 8 people in your group. Looking at new rules, the maximum is now 5 people. I'm not sure if this is because of COVID or if they're just greedy, but I'm not a fan of this new limitation especially since 5 is such an odd number. Another thing I wasn't a fan of is the stage and sound set-up. The stage is tiny and looks like one of those stages they do at free events. There are two screens, just as small, so it must've sucked for those in the way back. The sound system is a regular PA system and although they had extra speakers set-up in the center of the parking lot, I heard from friends that the music could be barely heard in the back. They have a channel on the FM Radio so you can blast the music in your car, but my friends who went to Kaskade said it wasn't in-sync and lagged behind the actual music a bit. Even in the 4th row, which was really really close to the stage and sound, I could easily have conversations with my boyfriend and not constantly scream, "What???" at him. This may be a good thing for some, but personally, I think it lowers the concert experience. I want to feel the music and bass bumping through my body lol Now the thing that upset me the most: social-distancing and spacing of the vehicles. The staggering system is great, and the 160 sqft of dancing space next to your car is nice too, in theory. They did not have any railings dividing these sections forcing everyone to keep to themselves. When you have concert goers inebriated, they are not going to stick to their own areas; that's just a fact. And the lazier ones trying to sneak to the front to get pics are going to cut through rows and walk into your private space instead of walking around the rows of parked cars. Since we were in the front, people were constantly walking through our private dancing space and it was rude, uncomfortable, and annoying. I think recently, they decided to add pink ribbon to divide the spaces. Pink RIBBON. RIBBON. Lol. What the hell is ribbon going to do? People can easily walk under it or just pull it down? There's no sense of safety or security at all (not to mention incredibly unprofessional, ugly, and cheap-looking). I'll be attending Gareth Emery's Laserface next weekend and I'm only going because I'm a huge fan and I want to support him during rough times. Not looking forward to the shitty sound and lack of social-distancing security.

I heard about the Tribeca Drive-In At The Rose Bowl last year during the first COVID-19 summer and was interested to go since I loved and attended many of the other non-drive-in outdoor cinema events. However, I felt it was still too early to be out in the wild while COVID was still raging on. Fast-forward to 2021, and Tribeca decided to return for a second season with COVID conditions slightly better than 2020 (the Delta variant continued to spread as of this review), so I gathered a few friends and excitedly checked this out for several nights to watch "Wayne's World" https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=E-DeGOiEzuvWmRAiDYrDvA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and "Purple Rain" https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bfHeeYNqgJM86JCXf7C50g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Was this worth the wait to get us all out of our homes!? PURCHASE General Admission Per Vehicle ($30.00 x3 + $5.00 fee x3): Purchased online (I believed the price was the same at the door the day of the event but possibly higher a fee), this was open parking so first come-first served although it seemed there might've been VIP tickets that placed you closer to the screen. You were allowed to be outside your vehicle but must maintain very close proximity. And upon check-in, you were handed information for which radio channel to tune in to https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=XFUe-mQef7rVwtwlWBgFfA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and how to order food through the DoorDash app https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=teK8iIeffho06nAUx5iFgw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Chicken Kabobs ($17.00): This was one massive skewer of thick pieces of nicely marinated juicy tender chicken along with an assortment of sliced green bell peppers, cucumbers, and onions served with a side of spicy dipping sauce. I surprisingly bought this pricey food item which thankfully didn't disappoint except for a lighter wallet. This definitely filled me up for the rest of the evening but probably wouldn't order it again https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=XSb87k8V1Jm2M9QFQ8nVDQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Seasoned Curly Fries w/Jalapeño Cheese Sauce ($8.00): A massive amount of curled spuds I swore the basket it came in was either bottomless or somehow never-ending! The cheese sauce had a nice spicy hotness to it but ran out of it halfway through my potato plantation which was fine since the fries tasted fine without it. With a nice crispiness in each bite until you reached the bottom where they were softer due to the moisture, not a bad meal at all; but this was a lot of fries to deal with for one person https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=jGpOSdzS3xcrVAHv1AhH1A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. SERVICE The online purchase was a breeze. Onsite directional signage to the main entrance was minimal at best (located at Lot F) https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-eJcQuflOlHPYLrAfvkyGw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. But once you arrived, the ticketing and parking staff, respectively, were friendly and helpful. The same could be said about the concession employees (there was a bar tent I didn't try), and directions to the restrooms were sufficient https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=6I83ppaDR1LdOP1daVViTw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Both audio and visual systems were very clean and clear. I didn't recall any onsite ATM machines. Generally-speaking, everything was fine and ran smoothly but just needed more signage once you got off the freeway since there were so many lots on the expansive Rose Bowl grounds. PARKING (FREE) Plenty of parking on the makeshift drive-in Lot F - 'nuff said https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=HLvvHky_uciuzRD_iTTMvQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A large open-air asphalt parking lot https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Yh7TpFIOR6W5uI-U4hYAuw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw with a state-of-the-art movie screen. Exposed to the elements, you heard random sounds from conversations, dogs barking, and vehicle traffic, etc.. The aforementioned gigantic movie screen was your TV while your vehicle's radio provided the music and audio. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Tribeca Drive-In At The Rose Bowl was a nostalgic fun time and would consider it again. The concept was perfect for the new norm of social distancing. The films shown were a wide range from old, new, classic, art-house, and more. The onsite staff were very charming and helpful, while the food menu was somewhat limited. Thankfully, you were allowed to bring your own food. I found very food value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $130.00; no tip required). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Plus you can text and order the snacks on your phone too for delivery to your vehicle. You can also bring whatever food you want - there are plenty of trash cans too. Screen resolution is great - even on a Smokey Fire day at 4:30pm the LED jumbo screen is clear - only a few night dark scenes fade out a little during the daytime but not a big thing. Everything else looks fantastic on the large screen even during the daytime. Sound is through two stations on your car stereo or you can also stream through your phone if needed from their website. They even do movie previews for about 15mins. All the covid precautions are put in place and well managed. Vehicles are even staggered and given plenty of space to get out of your vehicle to stretch if needed. A few even parked backwards to sit in the back of their open suv areas. Security staff riding around on bicycles and also to answer any questions. You can't beat this activity for $35 with two or more people while the theaters are still closed. Plenty of restrooms as well that they are constantly cleaning. Way to go rose bowl for being one of the first to do this!
