Could use some kitchen towels and basic spices but it was no big deal as we brought most of our own. Lots of stairs in case that makes a difference for some. Carpeting in many areas if you are allergy prone. Many games and areas in the house to spread out yet still be together. We loved the place and would rent again . Beautiful porch and chairs to enjoy especially in the evening. Close to boardwalk to beach for walking or using a golf cart if you rent one.

Very Disappointing Stay -- Property Was Not as Advertised…read more Property: Salt and Horns by Silver Sands Vacation Rentals Address: 845 Park Place, Port Aransas, TX 78373 Unfortunately, our stay at this property was extremely disappointing. The home is advertised as a higher-end Port Aransas vacation rental with amenities such as a private pool and hot tub, but what we experienced did not match what we felt was represented when booking. During our stay, we encountered numerous problems: * Pool was not working and was not clean * Hot tub did not work * Outside stair handle was broken * Back door handle was broken, and doors did not properly work or lock * Master bathroom toilet would not flush properly * Downstairs toilet was loose/wobbly and did not flush properly * Back sliding door would not lock at all * Broken chair on the patio * Wasp nests around the patios * Trash around the perimeter of the property * Refrigerator would not shut properly and the light did not work * Dishwasher smelled terrible * Open cereal/food was left in the cabinets * Most concerning, bunk-bed steps came loose while a child was climbing them Some of these are inconveniences, but others are legitimate safety and security concerns, especially doors that do not lock and bunk-bed steps failing while a child is using them. When families spend their hard-earned money on a vacation rental, especially one advertised at this level, they should reasonably expect the major amenities to work and the property to be clean, secure, and properly maintained. The location has a lot of potential, but based on the condition we experienced, we cannot recommend 845 Park Place in Port Aransas without significant improvements being made. Our biggest disappointment wasn't that one or two things went wrong -- things happen. It was the number of problems throughout the property and the feeling that many of them should have been caught before guests were ever allowed to check in.

Fabulous place to stay. We traveled to Port A without booking a hotel. Drove around and stumbled on…read morethe Beachgate. When we walked into the office we were greeted by wonderful staff members who gave us a great room at a great price due to it being off season. It was fabulous. Our room had a small balcony with side view of the beach, large refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and microwave. The bathtubs were amazing. Deep enough to get a full soak which was great after a long drive. It was attached to a one bedroom efficiency which also had a refrigerator and kitchen appliances. The property is RIGHT on the beach! Plenty of rooms to choose from. You can book a one bedroom condo and add two additional (attached) one bedroom efficiencies which also have bathrooms, kitchen appliances and a full refrigerator. Great for large groups. Everyone can stay together and still have privacy. They also have laundry facilities on site and in some of the condos. AND they welcome dogs! $25 per dog per night. We had boarded our dogs. Next time they are coming with us! The property is within walking distance to a restaurant too. Great HEATED pool and jacuzzi as well. Special shout out to MIRANDA who assisted us with finding the right room for a return visit. Coordinated with other staff to show us three options for our next stay in May. Highly recommend this place. The reviews of the Beachgate (on Yelp) do not represent this property accurately.

This time around my sister and brother in law and thier kids also came along for the first time. Becky the property manager greeted us as we arrived at our 4pm check-in. She explained everything in detail and walked us through the cabin and made us feel very welcomed. The unique one story cabins are arranged in a horseshoe configuration and are named according to their theme, and in the middle a beautiful courtyard is shared with gueats. We actually stayed in their latest newly remodeled two story cabin called The Marlin. It's located right next to the main property. At night it's very safely lit and your vechicals are parked under the structure. It sleeps 10 with two full baths and all the amenities you need to make your stay enjoyable. It has a second story large balcony and a small third story balcony as well. Access to the beach is at walking distance or a short drive. After hurricane Harvey the cabins sustained damage and there was even a waterline marker when the storm surge came in. After alot of hard work and tireless vollenteers the newly remodeled cabins are better than ever. Becky was even kind enough to show us inside The Rock and Roll cabin and the remarkable improvements they made. The Dancing Dunes is highly recommend which ever cabin you stay in. Check out their Facebook page or website to make reservations in advance because they do fill up quickly. We're definitely coming back next year and can't wait to make memories again.

We have been visiting Port Aransas annually for about 15 years. We rented this property at 717…read moreNinth Street #A through TripAdvisor, Inc. Our plan was to spend four days and do the usual fishing, shopping, relaxing, and dining at seafood restaurants on the island and mainland. Upon arrival, we found the property very neat and clean. The air conditioning was on and the temperature was a cool 72 degrees. The rental is centrally located within an easy two minute walk to gift shops, convenience store, fast food, and a pharmacy. It all looked great until .................. I attempted to connect a laptop computer to the WiFi. I called The Port A Beach House Company to obtain a password. I was given a password over the phone that did not work. After some confusion about which available network was usable, I called back and obtained the correct password. The WiFi signal was very weak to non-existent and remained so for our entire stay. I discovered that the property managers lived in the house right next to our rental. The WiFi router was located in their house. That fact certainly explained the very weak WiFi signal and my inability to consistently remain connected to the internet. I would advise future guests to check beforehand and ask if a WiFi booster/repeater/extender has been installed in the actual rental unit. Later in the evening of the first night I discovered there was no television reception. A closer examination of the entertainment cabinet found no cable box of any kind. No local cable box or satellite receiver unit of any kind. All three Roku televisions in the residence are completely dependent on a strong WiFi signal for streaming. So, obviously, we had no television viewing during our four-day visit. If all you desire is a clean, comfortable, nicely located rental in Port Aransas ...... This is a nice choice. However, if you wish to use the internet or watch television ...... Go somewhere else.

Definitely nothing like the advertising.dirty, a lot of needed repairs,Being authentic is rare…read morenowadays

Each of them is almost identical in style (2 bdrm, 2 bath down and a small kitchen/dining/living area with a loft up stairs). There are some issues with smells at times (I've been told to skip Nana's Nest), but we haven't had a "terrible" experience like others. I've stayed in Hula Hut (a fave! especially if you get the bottom bungalow to go with), Hang Ten, Arrowhead, and my parents enjoyed Villa4Rita. Not all of them have an ocean view, but you get close enough. The pool is always a hit with the kiddos and is clean and friendly. It has a safe feeling because there is one way in and out, but still watch for traffic. TIP: This is very nice if you're on a budget and I would recommend contacting Beachcombers at www.stayinporta. com if you want the easiest search method and NO FEES.

I will NOT stay there again because there is zero neighborhood security, and our experience was ruined by a massive family throwing all-night raging parties throughout the weekend. We couldn't use the pool because it was taken over by the party crowd, and we were forced to deal with the loud music, loud children, loud, drunk "adults" until the wee hours of the morning. During the daytime, the children were free to continuously honk the horns on those ever-present golf carts. I tried calling 311, but they never sent anyone out. It sucked.
