The Dancing Dunes in Port Aransas is a true gem. My family of 4 has been coming here for several years and our 3 night stay was memorable. This time around my sister and brother in law and thier kids also came along for the first time. Becky the property manager greeted us as we arrived at our 4pm check-in. She explained everything in detail and walked us through the cabin and made us feel very welcomed. The unique one story cabins are arranged in a horseshoe configuration and are named according to their theme, and in the middle a beautiful courtyard is shared with gueats. We actually stayed in their latest newly remodeled two story cabin called The Marlin. It's located right next to the main property. At night it's very safely lit and your vechicals are parked under the structure. It sleeps 10 with two full baths and all the amenities you need to make your stay enjoyable. It has a second story large balcony and a small third story balcony as well. Access to the beach is at walking distance or a short drive. After hurricane Harvey the cabins sustained damage and there was even a waterline marker when the storm surge came in. After alot of hard work and tireless vollenteers the newly remodeled cabins are better than ever. Becky was even kind enough to show us inside The Rock and Roll cabin and the remarkable improvements they made. The Dancing Dunes is highly recommend which ever cabin you stay in. One of the BEST places to stay on the island! Well done remodeling along with an owner that takes care if your every need. Becky furnished small welcoming touches such as coffee, creamer, spices and olive oil, Netflix, Hulu, washer and dryer, laundry soap, awesome shampoos and soaps. This place is conveniently located and you can walk 1/2 mile to the beach. The price is perfect and Becky and her husband are awesome hosts. Much better than a big hotel. You have got to stay here!!! Where do I start?? The hospitality is above and beyond. It's clean, quiet, pets are welcome for a very small fee. I have cooked every meal in the cabin which everything I needed to prepare and cook it was here. Plenty of seating and rockers out in the common areas..the shower is amazing big enough for 2. Full size washer and dryer as well as a full size refrigerator and dishwasher. Everything is plentiful. I am just so excited over the charm of The Fish cabin that we are staying in..we will be back. Ask for Becky she is very personable and ready to serve. This is an experience we always remember. read more

We had a great stay. We were in the Rock N Roll cabin. 3 bedroom and 1 1/2 bath. Kitchen is full stocked with supplies. Becky, our host was very friendly and helpful. We loved sitting on the porch and meeting other guest. They allowed dogs so we loved the dogs on the property. It is a 7 min walk to the beach. Great stay. read more

Paid good money to reserve two cabins for a weekend. It was my understanding that the rental payment also included use of the onsite amenities (outdoor kitchen). We enjoyed the first night, were able to hang out and BBQ and relax but the second night, the manager and her husband decided to keep the guests from using those facilities by cooking their own meal for their family and setting up (for hours) so that no one else could use the outdoor kitchen area. It was deliberate and everyone could tell. Not to mention they brought out these two huge dogs that made some of our guests uncomfortable as we were trying to eat. We didn't pay to stay at our parents house but that's what it felt like, even though the manager had their own place nearby they chose to utilize the space we paid for. The husband kept coming to tell us they would be leaving soon but the wife wanted to make it clear she ran this place I guess. Unfortunately, we were planning on renting the entire place (all 5 cabins) in June but wouldn't even consider it now. read more

I'd say this is one of my top 5 accommodations in the world. It's cozy, it's private, you can socialize on your own terms, it has everything you need, and it's a 2 minute walk to the beach/2 minute drive into town. It isn't a five star hotel, but if you've gotten this far, that's probably not what you're expecting anyway. There's a central outdoor grilling and dining garden which provides a private, cozy, and casual place to enjoy a meal either with yourself or with the charming family who runs the place. They're some really cool people who will lend you cooking utensils from their own kitchen, give you tips on local points of interest, feed you scraps from their table (today that meant sashimi, grouper, and marinated chicken), and generally make you feel incredibly at home. Don't bother going to restaurants while your here. Just catch some fish and grill it in the garden. It isn't a romantic, totally private place. But you, oh discerning consumer, probably already knew that. To address the weird review about the owners spitefully using the grill... there are two grills. They often use one. They will let you choose the grill you want to use. I don't know what's up with that other review. I think if they would've just talked to them or actually walked back there and tried to grill this wouldn't be an issue. read more

Dancing Dune! What can I say, this place was affordable and accommodated everything we needed during our stay. From their outdoor kitchen and BBQ spot, lounge area, walking dispatch to the beach, this place was a truly home away from home. The host was very friendly and easy to communicate with. I recommend this place whenever you're in the area of Port Aransas/Corpus Christi and in need of a place. They have multiple cabin rooms that can fit a small family to a large group of friends. We stayed in the Fish Cabin with 7 friends and we were able to fit comfortably, but if youre asking for more space, they do have a bigger cabin. read more

From April 2016: The manager Becky welcomed us early which we were thrilled about. We were given so many fun tips and even recommended some dining venues to check out. One of our party members wanted to rent a golf cart and because they mentioned Becky, they received a discount. She was an absolute delight the entire time. We even shared some of our 'adult beverages' with her and some birthday cake. She literally became one of our family this past weekend. The listing is spot on and was the perfect place to stay at with a party of 6. The beds, temperature, everything was perfect! We thought having 1 bathroom would be challenging but it honestly all worked out. The neighborhood was a breath of fresh air and even the folks that rented the other beach cabins turned out to be fun to hang out with. Becky verbally offered a late check-out so it was nice not having to RUSH outta there - we still left on time but knowing we didn't have to panic with regards to checking-out was truly wonderful. We ALL are definitely coming back to this particular beach cabin. Honestly, the best weekend ever!!! read more

This is the second time we have rented and they are awesome. We rent a golf cart bring the pooch and less than 5 minutes from the beach. Got here early and although room wasn't ready hung out in the common area and drank damn good time. read more
