Everything was old and cheaply made. Dollar store soaps and sponges, only two rolls of toilet paper. My son's bed was apparently broken and we were charged for it, when all the furniture needs replacing to be honest. I didn't lay on the bed so I think it likely could have been broken before we got there and we were any easy way to replace it. My husband I are very disappointed with the stay here. I guess I need to check all beds before and after I stay places, as we have never had this problem and travel often. I will definitely encourage all friends and family to not stay here moving forward. Save yourself the hassle and ROACHES and go elsewhere!

When we walked into the office we were greeted by wonderful staff members who gave us a great room at a great price due to it being off season. It was fabulous. Our room had a small balcony with side view of the beach, large refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and microwave. The bathtubs were amazing. Deep enough to get a full soak which was great after a long drive. It was attached to a one bedroom efficiency which also had a refrigerator and kitchen appliances. The property is RIGHT on the beach! Plenty of rooms to choose from. You can book a one bedroom condo and add two additional (attached) one bedroom efficiencies which also have bathrooms, kitchen appliances and a full refrigerator. Great for large groups. Everyone can stay together and still have privacy. They also have laundry facilities on site and in some of the condos. AND they welcome dogs! $25 per dog per night. We had boarded our dogs. Next time they are coming with us! The property is within walking distance to a restaurant too. Great HEATED pool and jacuzzi as well. Special shout out to MIRANDA who assisted us with finding the right room for a return visit. Coordinated with other staff to show us three options for our next stay in May. Unfortunately the hostile woman…read more"working" the front desk managed to undo all of the good memories we had here leaving us to decide to not return in the future, and spread the word on this place. And it wasn't just us, at the pool other guests were actually overheard talking about how nasty and unstable she was when asked for basic information. Even if a guest interrupted her chain smoking and socializing with the men outside, you'd think she would have self control to not THROW her cigarette at the office door in a way a toddler would throw their toys during a tantrum. Brought up an issue we had the previous night with so much dust and dirt in the room that it was causing a health risk to the occupants and was met with a very rehearsed and and aggressive response "that she inspected the room herself after the best maid they had turned it over" before we checked in. Why would I lie? I have nothing to gain. Screw me right, for asking for the bare minimum. Nevermind the fact that they put us in a room with STAIRS to get to the room, for someone that usually needs a wheelchair. Keep in mind I called like over a month in advance to explain that we were with a disabled senior and needed a ground level room which we were assured of. I was however offered a room on the 2nd floor (because that totally makes sense for a disabled person) that we would then have to pay again for because her personal idea of clean is dust caked walls, tables, lamps and everything else. dishes in the cabinets with caked on food, live bugs in the bed, and dirty hair covered sinks. Honestly I'm not even upset with the maid. if anything the woman at the desk with the shoulder length black box dyed hair, glasses, Monroe piercing (or mole idk) chain smoking with a chip on her shoulder is probably hindering their work with her personal idea of clean. Gross room even grosser staff. Emailed manager for a partial refund. Of course no response. Long story short: total health hazard, not accommodating to disabled, and also get charged a cleaning fee of $34.15 for no maid service and upon check out are told to empty the rooms trash in the properties dumpster yourself as the guest.. get real. Our full trash can upon checkout is clearly up to her personal standards so she can deal with it.

I ended up reaching out to Lauren at Silver Sands and I am so glad I did. She hooked us up in the CUTEST place at the Old Town Cottages. We were in unit #14 and it was ADORABLE! It was brand new and even had that new condo smell. The details, décor and over-all feel of the place was very high end. We were only there three nights, but I can see using this for a longer stay. It was just the two of us, but the room with the bunks would allow us to bring our kids and have enough space for everyone. The smart TVs in both bedrooms and the living area is enough to keep everyone entertained with their own thing, and the golf cart that came with the rental was a blast. Wifi was strong and allowed for streaming and catching up on work here and there. The only somewhat negative thing I will say about unit 14 is that it was up some pretty steep stairs (above the retail shops) and so the up/down when unloading and loading was not fun. When we return, we will try to reserve one of the full cottages that are stand-alone one-story cottages. The location is great...smack dab in the middle of everything and steps away from some great bars and restaurants. When we ventured out further, it was so much fun to putter around in our golf card. We are so glad to have Lauren and this sweet little spot play a role in our special weekend. Oh, and by the way...I said yes after he had to ask me a second time because I was laughing/crying so much I forgot to answer.

They have trash cans by the stair case that smells terrible with roaches and flies and we have to pass it every time we go into our room. We booked this condo expecting a relaxing beach vacation. Instead, it felt like every day came with a new surprise--and not the good kind. Let's start with the condition of the unit. The walls were literally falling apart, and the bathroom had water leaking through the shower wall from the unit above us. When we reported it, we were told they couldn't do anything because the unit upstairs wasn't managed by them. While I understand that may be true, it doesn't change the fact that we paid for a room with water leaking into the bathroom. The bathroom light also had a mind of its own. Every time you flipped the switch, it took a couple of minutes to turn on, like it was still asleep and needed its morning coffee before deciding to work. The TV wasn't much better. The remote wouldn't change the channels, so if we wanted to watch something, we had to get up every single time and manually change the channel on the cable box. After putting up with all of these issues, we were finally told we could move to another unit--but only on the last night of our 4-night stay. Even then, the replacement unit wasn't ready until around 5:00 p.m., so we spent most of the day waiting. Then we had to pack up every single one of our belongings and move everything ourselves... just to sleep there for one night before checking out the next morning. To make things even worse, the replacement unit didn't even have the pull-out couch that our original unit had. It was just a regular couch, even though we booked a unit that was supposed to accommodate six people. We also spent most of our vacation using only one bathroom, despite paying for a two-bathroom unit. After all of that, no refund, no partial refund, no discount, and no real compensation was offered. Let me start by saying that I have stayed in almost every hotel on this island, from cheap to…read moreexpensive af. The price of this place had me expecting something that was old and dingy but hopefully clean and sanitary. We were only staying one night so I figured I could tough it out if need be (y'all I am bougie ok, I fully accept that lol). Bc we were only staying one night, we arrived much earlier than typical check in hour but drove by justtttt to see if the room was ready. It was not. The front desk staff said she'd call us as soon as it was ready, but I've have heard that song and dance before and was not even expecting a call. Howeverrrrr, she did call! And only about 10 min after we left, saying the cleaning crew had just called to say they were done. That was the first surprise, a good one. When we got to the room I was literally stunned. It was so cute! Brand new everything! It looked like the entire place had been freshly remodeled; not just touch up paint here and a new lame picture the beach there, but actually top to bottom remodel by someone who knew what they were doing! So cute. And great value for the money. A couple small caveats, idk if it advertises as 'sleeps 4' but it really doesn't. There is a loft like area up some steep stairs but it does not have a full height ceiling and would only be fit for children under probably 6-7. Also, the ac doesn't get very cold (We got the detached bungalow btw). The rest of the property is super cute as well. There is a salt water pool (which was closed for some reason, sad face) and a snow cone hut which is super nice for kids. However, there is a second property just down the road whose pool was open so we checked it out. Pool, great but super busy; hot tub, great; bath house, amazing. Again, I'm thinking gross little outdoor shared bathroom at an RV park, wrong! It was a beautifully remodeled bathroom with extra large walk in shower, tile throughout and they were clean! Three total. Overall, I will be staying here again. Hopefully the pool will be open in my location the next time! But this is def now my go to Port A hotel! Such great value!

It's a long read I know…read more The good - location, pool, on site golf cart rental The bad- too pricey for the lack of parking, cramped RV spaces, questionable power pedestals (our breakers kept tripping) At approximately 10:30 p.m., I was abruptly awakened by an older gentleman repeatedly banging on the door of our camper. When I answered, he immediately began yelling that my truck was parked too far over the parking line and needed to be moved. At no point did he introduce himself or identify himself as an employee or representative of Tropical RV Resort, so I initially believed he was super hostile guest. I tried to explain to him that the designated overflow parking area was completely full and asked where I was expected to park. His response was that I should park off the property on the grass behind the park. I informed him that those areas were also completely full. When I again asked where he expected me to park, he stated that he didn't care, that he would begin fining me $100, and then call the fire marshal so I could be fined an additional $500. I do not tolerate being treated with threats and intimidation. He continued yelling throughout the conversation and would not allow for a productive discussion. To end the confrontation, I simply responded, "Okay," several times and closed the camper door. My husband then stepped outside to understand what was happening after hearing someone yelling at me. Rather than attempting to de-escalate the situation, the gentleman immediately began yelling at him as well. A brief verbal exchange followed, as my husband was understandably unwilling to be spoken to in such a disrespectful manner by someone who had never identified himself or attempted to communicate professionally. At this point, I felt extremely uncomfortable around this person. His behavior was unacceptable for someone who works with the Public and no guest should ever be treated that way for such a minor parking in fraction. There were cars on your property marked with tow warnings because they have been parked there without parking permits. At least one car was there for 48 hours perhaps had those cars been cleared there would've been ample parking. Additionally, there were open spaces in the trailer storage area, but I was informed I could not park there either. I also want to express a genuine concern regarding the older gentleman who confronted us. I cannot speak to his personal circumstances, but based on his behavior that evening, he appeared to be extremely agitated and confrontational. His level of anger, the way he pounded on our camper door late at night, and the manner in which he repeatedly yelled and threatened us made me feel genuinely unsafe. Whether this was an isolated incident or a pattern of behavior, I believe it warrants attention. No guest should feel intimidated or fear for their safety while staying at an RV resort. I sincerely hope management addresses this situation, both for the well-being of the individual involved and for the safety and comfort of future guests. In the end, all this started around 10:30 PM and by 11:15pm we were packed up and ready to go. I would rather forfeit a night or two, than stay in the environment that I was in. I should also note that the angry gentleman sat in the dark on his golf cart, hiding behind a fence, watching us pack up the entire time... it was awkward. This whole mess could've been avoided. Had this gentleman knocked on our door, introduced himself and explained the situation (without yelling and threatening us with fines and the Fire Marshal). This could've been such an easy problem to solve. I feel that in this circumstance, an exception could've been made to allow me to park in the trailer storage area or over by the hotel rooms where there was additional space. I would've been happy to pay the $10 storage fee just to have a place to park on property and not risk being towed by parking somewhere I didn't belong.
