The one sales representative I did see, was behind a counter and otherwise preoccupied. Never did ask whether I needed help or had any questions. The bedroom set I intended to purchase online looked great online. In person, it looked like garbage. Cheaply assembled with an inferior type look. And mattress system atop that had seen better days. The technician only quoted a repair time of about two hours for my wine cooler which I found reasonable. The labor invoice came in at $475. I expected an hourly rate in the $100 range. When I questioned the invoice I was told they never base the repair on an hourly rate; just a job charge. If you are not comfortable paying $200/ hr I would look for another company. Now the good. After I complained I promptly received a call back telling me the company owner believed the charge was fair but agreed to refund almost half of the amount. Also the technician was knowledgeable and friendly. So my recommendation is that you make sure you have written quotation that reflects the hours required for the repair and is not based on a "job charge".

I did everything possible to avoid issues -- I confirmed timelines with my salesperson, Drew, to avoid a price increase and followed up with a call. Despite that, my quote increased. After some back and forth, they did honor the original price -- but the problems didn't stop there. Drew failed to place the order, even though I had submitted it and paid in full. That delay caused major availability issues, forcing me to purchase a more expensive microwave just to stay on schedule. When I needed to change one appliance, it took weeks just to get an updated proposal. I shared my install deadline well in advance, because I had out-of-town carpenters coming specifically to install the appliance panels. House of Appliances never got back to me in time, and I missed the window. Now I have to pay extra to get the panels installed later. To make matters worse, the refrigerator drawers and wine refrigerator arrived damaged. I was told they could be repaired -- but I paid full price, and I will not accept repaired appliances. These units are required for my Certificate of Occupancy and panel installation, and I still have no resolution. I even contacted a manager and have yet to receive any help. This kind of service is unacceptable.

We asked if we could still browse their showroom. Drew immediately welcomed us and then proceeded to spend nearly an hour going over all the appliances we were looking for: ovens, dishwasher, refrigerator, etc. All the while knowing there would be no eventual sale. Drew Meltz is the best appliance salesperson we have ever met, hands down. He is supremely knowledgeable about his products, patient, cordial and a real pleasure to work with.
