I can't rate the tech yet, because he hasn't arrived. What I can rate is the utter uselessness of Sears's automated, AI nonsense. First "Samantha", the AI phone bot, took my address wrong (not surprisingly). I received a link on my phone--which apparently can only be opened on my phone, not my computer--that I was told can be used to edit information. The only information I can edit is my phone number and email address, not my physical address. Seems to me that's the most important part. The chat bot didn't work at all, it kept saying I didn't have a work order based on my phone number. I finally got the chat bot on the website (that I had to go to manually) to give me a "customer service" (titled ironically) phone number. I made my selection, and when I told the person what was wrong, he said he'd transfer me to someone else to fix the address for me (how hard have they made it that a simply delete and reenter isn't possible??). So I got another person, and that person said she'd transfer me to a person who could help me! What the hell?? I told her that's how I got her. So her solution? She had to cancel my appointment and reset it up--only way to do a simple change on a street name!!! How incredibly absurd!! She then apparently didn't like how angry I was because at the end she just rushed through how I can do anything I want through the link in my text (which I'd already explained didn't work) and not to call them again and hung up on me! Now I'm waiting for a tech. My window was 8-12. I received an update that he'll be here at 9:36am. That was over 2 hours ago. Now my link only works half the time, and when it does it just tells me he's one stop away and WILL be here 2 hours ago! There is no phone number I can call to get an update or find out where he is. There is no recourse to get any sort of satisfaction for this headache, and not one of the two human beings I was able to talk to said, "I'm sorry". Is that too much to ask these days, that they actually say, "I'm sorry that was so frustrating"? Do you know how far that would go to pacifying me? A long ways. But no, they're all clones that stick to their scripts and actually tried to upsell me in spite of my clear irritation. So fed up. Sears used to be a name you could trust. I only set this up because when our dryer broke last year, I tried a local independent operation, and that person didn't know what they were doing and gave me bad information. I set it up with Sears, and I got a guy who not only correctly diagnosed the problem but gave me sound advice on how to proceed. Now? I waited 4 weeks for repairman to come. We had been waiting on parts. When he came, he was advised by sears not to repair the washer. He took the parts to return to Sears. Now i have no washer or parts to fix it. Very frustrating and disappointing. He said they were considering replacing the washer, but they need 7-10 days to make up their minds. I have had 3 appointments and washer still not fixed. I have had to move things out for the repairman to have room to work 3 times. We are very satisfied with the technician that came out today. It's SEARS and their unwillingness to fulfill their end of the protection agreement plan that has caused me to not renew. Kyle was very professional and polite. However I did not care to pay sears again for labor and parts. My first call to sears was that I was not getting ice. The repair man Keith did everything thought was required. He left I had no ice. (Which was the reason for my initial call) Sears prices are extremely high as the labor. Parts I understand. if I could give him ZERO stars I would. I've been without a refrigerator for over a month now. Hopefully the refrigerator will work with the new compressor, which should have been ordered with the parts he ordered the first time. the technician is very rude. I had my girlfriend come to my house for when he showed up cause my mom had a health emergency I needed to take care of. when he came over he did not even speak or acknowledge himself ever after she treated him with a pleasant and kind greeting. He fired up a torch to fix something behind the refrigerator and the fire alarm went off. he did not for warn her what he was going to do or what to expect from him using the torch. When she went into the kitchen to ask he ignored her and just showed her the torch. when I got home I tried to talk to him after he finished fixing the refrigerator about his rudeness and the torch incident cause the fire alarm went off but he got defensive. He said he was not expecting a stranger to be at the house, but expected the homeowner (the text I received from Sears said a adult 18 and over needed to be present), plus how would he know she was not the homeowner. Then he said this was a business call not person and he did not have to be courteous. He started raising his voice. I said because he's working for me in my house I would appreciate him being courteous. His reply was (loudly) "are you crazy, I don't work for you" and got in his truck slamming his truck door. DO NOT SEND THAT TECHNICIAN back to my house. I wish I knew his name cause I would put it on this review. Sears need to get professional courteous technicians to work for the cause he was terrible. read more

Lack of consideration for people time. I took a day off for service on 1/25/24 only to be called and reschedule by an automated machine sometime after 2/7/24. Once told the company to come get their merchandise Sears decided to pop up on 2/1/24 to service my dryer. What a waste of my time. read more

Both service technicians who worked on my refrigerator (Calvin O. and Peter) were competent, pleasant persons. Fixing the refrigerator so it would cool again took almost two months. Calvin came February 6, 2024, and identified a relay and capacitor that needed replacing. He ordered the parts, and I paid the first bill. He said if that did not work, I would need a new generator. Calvin O. came back and brought the parts with him. That did not solve the problem. Peter came and re-diagnosed the problem. This time, I had to pre-pay for the parts and installation. I had to input a credit card number on my phone. I am 84 years old and cannot use the tiny keyboard well. I kept making mistakes inputting the number. A computer keyboard is larger and works better for me. Peter got impatient with me. I am sure he was under pressure to get on to his next call. The new generator and two other parts were finally installed March 28, 2024, by Peter. The refrigerator appears to cool well now. All in all, it took 4 service calls. My major problem is the automated telephone system. Only once in numerous calls was I able to talk to a human being. When I wanted to re-schedule, the automated system gave me an alternate day, which I selected. It said I had made an inappropriate response. I tried three times before I was able to reach a human being. The final indignity was when my final three parts came. They came to my home. The two smaller parts were shipped together in the same package and the generator came separately. I checked the UPS site and confirmed that all three parts had been received. I opened the smaller package and saw two parts. I called the automated system to reschedule the replacement, as the parts came a week early. The automated system checked the Sears records for my repair, and said my parts were not here yet. It hung up on me. I tried three times. I tried the website. It referred me to the telephone number that hung up on me--again. There was a telephone number that was supposed to allow me to reach a human being. When I explored it, the cost was $26. I gave up and put up with the inconvenience of having no kitchen refrigerator for two months. I also find that the 8-hour service window (8 to 5) that Sears gives is much longer than any local repair service. Local folks give me either two- or four-hour windows. Sears ties up a whole day. In my case, Calvin O. called and came early. Peter called about 9:00 a.m. and estimated his arrival to be between 10:00 a.m. and noon. He was able to get to my house about 12:15 p.m. All in all, if I can avoid it, I will never user the Sears Repair Service again. My major problem is with the automated scheduling system. It does not work well. It needs some re-programming. There is no option button on every call for talking with a human operator. Second, the 9-hour service window ties up a whole day. He said he's been having to replace a lot of the control boards. He told us if it happens again to call again and he would come back to repair it again. First of all I would to rate Sears Home Services as well as the technician for today. My problem starting back in October 2023 and no ones came out to see what the problem was until today February 21, 2024.. I have call several time and I kept getting the run around and they didn't care if my washer wasn't working. Ever time they told me a technician was coming they never show up. I have all my text message and email that were sent. After this contract I WILL NOT RENEW this has been the worst experience I ever had. As for the technician today February 21, yes he call and when I tried to reach out to him he never answer. So customer service is not good. I hesitated to use Sears because of the other 1 star review here on yelp. I should have listened to my gut and not gone with this company. After arranging a technician to come out, naturally they could only give me a time slot of between 8-5pm, I got a text message saying the technician was on his way. One hour later I got another text saying my appointment had been rescheduled for next week!! I wasted an entire day waiting on the technician and when I called Sears within 15 minutes of receiving the text, they told me they would make it right and call me back in 2 hours. I gave them more than 2 hours and never received a call back or an email. The technician never bothered to call, never bothered to show up and Sears was incapable of doing anything! This location has lost my business, I would strongly urge you not to give them yours either. Overall the tech was good. waiting for the repair of my washing machine was a horrible experience. The only reason I choose Sears in working with my my washing machine was because I had purchased the washing machine through Sears and they continued sending me their home service repair information for months. My washing machine went out of balance. I needed a repair so I was confident enough to request services for repair through Sears. BIG MISTAKE , I had requested the services on the seventh of the month of February. Tech came out two weeks later, parts came in a week later. The tech made it sound that they will come right away right after the parts came in unfortunately, after they cancelled my first app due to short staff , I reached out to Sears service department, unable to reach anyone, having to go through many prompts, being passed on by extensions, no one willing to help, being hung up on and after then they canceled another theee cancellations of appointments. Out of the 4 only one notice. since I already paid in advance, I was not willing to lose my money. I ended up having to purchase and rent a washing machine. In the meantime and ended up just accepting they get here whenever they get here I guess It took a month and a half for the service department to have a technician assigned to come and repair a part that was sitting in my home for over a month. I even canceled my home warranty after being sold to it the first time which I highly do not recommend since they don't tell you once you get your paperwork that you also have additional deposits and other payments besides what you pay monthly these were not my expectations for future service with Sears. I will never purchase an appliance or request service for ser . I would prefer reaching out to a local vendor that will take care of the problem sooner than later. read more

I contacted Sears Home Repair Service to inquire about a quote to redo my bathroom, the rep was helpful and friendly on the phone. She made the appointments. They never showed up, so I called back and she re-scheduled the appointment (twice). I called back and asked them if they were coming. Again no one was available to come and give me an estimate and they would see who was in the area. I told the rep never mine, I guess I live in the wrong geographical area, she was quite on the phone, I told her thank you for your time and hung up. if you want to get something redone and you live in a certain area don't all Sears because they will not assist you. I never received a call for the cancellation of either appointment, If I had not called I would not have known they were not coming. Thank you sears for nothing. read more

Technician was able to come out the day I called to fix our riding Craftsman lawnmower. He wasn't condescending at all about the easy fix to our problem. While I had him here, I asked him to try to make the lawnmower crank more quickly and smoothly. It cranks up like new now and it's 10 years old! Love this home service for my lawnmower. read more

I was really disappointed with the service, It took two service people to ask me where a part was to be installed on my Craftsman Riding lawn mower. Second; the price quoted on site was 189.00, which we used two years ago, service person stated that was the price just for him to drive out to perform services, not the cost of service, in other words - travel to location. Total billing was 320.00; for oil and filter change; extra changing the blade. Service guy was very proud of cleaning out the deck where grass clippings had gathered --- Total Ripoff Never again. Sear I am very disappointed in this and will never use your maintenance service again. P.S. Air Filter charges were applied but, parts received two weeks after service. read more
